Chapter 2
Was it okay to go in the other rooms once he was done with his job? Whatever it was…
He would ask, he thought, no harm in that, right?
The door had lead him not into a room of a building, but outside, a bright sun shown, and there were no clouds in the sky. This was not at all like the way his town looked when he had stepped out of his house… this was alive, this was happy, this was real, and open.
He didn’t know where to go from here. So he stood and waited for his feet to start wanting to go some place, but they didn’t move, they had no where to go? What was he supposed to do? So he turned to go back through the door, and saw that next to the door was a sign, it read, “Find a hole that welcomes you with a flashing light, go in and do what needs to be done.”
What?! He wanted to yell, he wanted to do something that didn’t make his head hurt and throb like it was now, what was happening? What? A hole? He didn’t even see any—Oh. There, there was his hole, now that he was looking for holes, he saw them, all around on the ground everywhere.
Only one had a flashing light, so he jumped in and was falling for a while, spinning in a grey donut shaped thing, around and around he went, till finally the thing stoped and he was sitting in a seat, looking at a desk. The desk had a lamp, a note pad and a computer.
All around his there was nothing, nothing at all. All except in front of him, there he saw a huge face. A human face, looking at him throw thousands of squares, very small squares. When he looked to the side of him he saw many other faces, and others at desks just like his.
“Wow…” Sam mumbled to himself, and saw that he had typed it, and that the face could see it too. He tried to find a Trash button, but there was none, the human face blinked, and typed, ‘What’
what does just ‘What’ mean? Sam thought. Was it a question? Was it a statement? What was it? Most likely a question. Maybe he wants to know what it means?
okay, this must be your job as a Thinker… answer people’s questions; “what

Sam says out loud, and type to this human.
The face in front of him looked even more confused, ‘Why did you say ‘wow’ just a bit ago?’
“Ah! You ASKED this time! Great! Now, what should I say back… hmmm…” then sam saw that he was speaking and typing again… this is gonna be a loooong day, “Well,” he said before it can answer him, “I said ‘Wow’ because I thought my work place is—Wait, do you know that I’m in here? Or is it just like a thing that everyone knows but me?”
The face looks at Sam through the tiny squares for a long time, ‘Well, IG I know ur in there… I think everyone knows that.’
“Oh…” Sam said, “Well, my name is Sam, what’s yours?” Sam didn’t know what IG meant but it was probably rude.
‘What’ it wrote back.
Oh-dear thought Sam…, “what
