Chosen and Dark's initial creation and escape go the same as canon, with Chosen being created first, Dark's creation, the fight, and finally their escape. However, in this AU, Chosen is SEVERELY more messed up from his time under Alan. He's paranoid and aggressive, prone to destroying things (and people) out of sheer panic. Due to Dark's own thirst for destruction and naivety regarding "normal" Sticks, he doesn't notice or think anything of Chosen's behavior for a long time.
It isn't until Newgrounds, when Dark finds Chosen repeatedly throwing fireballs at a building that has long since been reduced to charred rubble. Dark tries to approach him, but Chosen, locked deep in his own mind, attacks him. They fight until Chosen finally comes back to his senses and profusely apologizes. Dark accepts the apology, but he's unnerved now. When they eventually find their way to the Outernet, Dark is the one to suggest they settle down for the sake of Chosen's mental health.
They live the next few years in a state of rocky peace. Dark tries to keep Chosen away from civilization, but Chosen has episodes that have him either going out to terrorize small towns or getting into fights with Dark. Shadows lurk in every corner of Chosen’s mind. He lives in constant fear of Alan returning to take him back, to the point that everyone and everything except Dark is suspect of being in cahoots with the animator.
Eventually, as Chosen's mental state worsens, he snaps. Stealing Dark's Virabands—a pet project that Dark didn't actually intend to use—he runs off to Alan's PC in a desperate attempt to get rid of the animator once and for all.
