Chapter Text
When Kuroo and Daichi move in together, the first people invited to see the apartment are, of course, Bokuto and Akaashi. The apartment is a cozy space, a blend of modern and traditional aesthetics between Shinjuku and Nakano. After Daichi shows off his cooking skills by serving them all homemade yakisoba, they move into the living area to play some games. Bokuto wins every round of Mario Kart, despite Kuroo's attempts to blue-shell him, and Akaashi carries their duo in trivia, but then Daichi calls for charades. "Finally, something we have a chance at winning!" Kuroo says with a laugh.
"Do you have a timer?" Akaashi asks.
"No need. Watch this." Kuroo grins. "Hey, Siri."
Akaashi assumes Kuroo is just using his phone, but—wait. Kuroo has a Samsung, not an iPhone. Is he speaking to Daichi's phone?
Then, from somewhere above their heads, Siri's voice echoes in the small apartment. "Uh huh?"
Bokuto startles, frantically looking around, his big golden eyes darting from one corner of the ceiling to the next. "Where is she??" he says, his voice full of fear.
The look on his face is downright comical. Daichi makes a valiant attempt at stifling his laugh; Kuroo, meanwhile, lets out his cackling hyena laugh. "She's right up there!" he wheezes, pointing at the space between the top of their cabinets and the ceiling where a little white speaker is perched.
"Oh!" Bokuto screeches, laughing along with them.
Later on, while they're playing charades, the word that comes up is, coincidentally, Siri. Kuroo acts it out by pointing at Bokuto, and then cowering in fear while exaggeratedly looking around. They all just about lose their breath laughing, Daichi so much so that he can't guess in time and hands Bokuto and Akaashi their third win of the night.
