Characters:

Shrimpo
Scraps
Brusha
Finn
Brightney
Poppy
Plot: Goob sends Scraps a video while she’s at college.
[Scene: Dorm at college]
(Scraps is laying on her bed, looking sad and exhausted. She picks up a picture from her nightstand, a nice one of her and Goob making silly faces, and looks at it while tearing up a bit)
Scraps:(looking at the picture) Oh Goob, maybe it was a mistake leaving you back home.
(She sits there for a while longer and looks at a package next to her on the bed that she hasn’t opened yet. She sighs and goes to open it and sees a VHS tape in there. She picks it up, confused, and walks over to the little TV she has in the room and pops it into the player)
[Scene: Goob’s room, on the video]
(Goob is standing in the middle of his room. Finn’s hand is covering up the camera)
Goob: Hi- Oh, wait, Finn, you’re covering up the lens.
Finn:(from behind the camera) Oh, sorry. (takes his hand off)
Goob: Thank you. Anyways, hi Scraps! I’m making a video for you. Just give me a minute.
(Goob leaves the scene for a bit and comes back wearing a paper crown)
Goob: Ok, so once upon a time there was a king named Goobamesh- that’s me- and he was very strong. But he was not a very good ruler to his subjects.
(Scene cuts to show Goob laying on his stomach on the floor with a teddy bear in front of him)
Goob:(putting his hand over his mouth and making the bear move a bit to make it seem like it’s talking) Goobamesh, our people are starving! (takes his hand off of his mouth and stops making the bear talk) Deal with it yourselves.
(Scene cuts again to show Goob putting the teddy bear near where Brusha’s bed is now and then he leaves the scene)
Goob:(voiceover) So the villagers went to the god and she decided to give him a friend to help him be nicer. (whispers) Shrimpo, come in now.
(Shrimpo groans offscreen and then enters the scene, not really enjoying this)
Goob: Oh, hello there. I don’t think I’ve seen you before.
Shrimpo:(sighs) I’m Shrimpkidu, I just came here from the woods.
Goob: I’m Goobamesh. Say, I was about to go on a trip into the woods. I need some wood for a gate. Do you want to be friends and join me?
Shrimpo: Sure, why not? I have a thousand better places to be but I guess I’m stuck here.
Goob: Yay! (walks off happily)
[Scene: Hallway]
(Goob and Shrimpo are walking down the hall. Goob is pretending to act tired)
Goob: You know, Shrimpkidu, I’ve been having some odd dreams. I don’t think that this trip is such a good idea anymore.
Shrimpo:(pushing him a bit) We’ll be fine. Stop being such a baby. Besides, we’re here. Too late to back down.
Goob: Oh, right. Now we have to defeat the demon that lives here.
(Goob points at something off-screen and the camera moves to show that Tisha is there, mopping calmly. Goob and Shrimpo charge after her and both slip on the floor, with the camera following shortly after them)
Teagan:(off-screen, not sounding happy about it) What is the meaning of this?!
(The camera gets steadied back up and Finn just makes silly faces in it while Goob and Shrimpo get chewed out by Teagan in the background)
Goob:(getting back to the camera, Shrimpo following, as Finn goes back to filming normally) Ok, let’s just say that we defeated the demon. Now we should return back home with the gate.
(Shrimpo and Goob head back to Goob’s room and pretend to install the gates there. Soon after finishing, Shrimpo starts walking off)
Shrimpo:(heading to his room) Ok, see ya.
Goob:(looking heartbroken) Where are you going?
Shrimpo: I’m moving away. I have other places to be now.
Goob: Aw man, bye.
(Goob watches Shrimpo walk away and then sulkily goes to his room and slumps down near Brusha, who is painting on a canvas)
Brusha:(sighs, talking to Goob) What is it now?
Goob:(whispering) Don’t worry, I’m not really sad. Just pretending.
Brusha: Oh, right, this is for the video. (clears her throat) So what’s your problem?
Goob: I don’t want anything to ever change ever. It’s terrible.
Brusha: I know one way to do that.
Goob: You do?! How?
Brusha: You have to go all the way out to sea and go on a boat to a little island. You’ll find the one woman in the world who’s never gone through change before, and she can help you.
Goob: Oh, thank you. I’ll go do that right away. (gets up and starts walking off)
Brusha:(watching him leave) Good luck. (starts painting again)
[Scene: Outside, near a lake]
(Goob walks all the way to the edge of the shore, where Brightney is. Brightney closes the book she was reading and stands up)
Brightney: Hello there, Goob. How are you doing? (turns her head and notices the camera) Oh, right, I forgot. So you want a ride to the island, right?
Goob: Yep! (starts following her along the river)
Brightney:(walking with Goob) You know, Popishtim had to do a lot of work to become immune to change. She came here all the way from a flood and as a sorry for going through that, she was allowed to live on this island forever. You’ll probably also have to go through something like that if you want things to stay the same forever.
Goob: Well, I can do that. I’m tough.
Brightney: That’s good. (stops in front of a bunch of wood that looks a bit like a house, which Poppy is behind) Here we are. Have fun
Goob:(walking towards the house) Thanks!
(Poppy comes out from behind the house and starts pretending to sweep. Goob comes up to her)
Goob:(waving) Hi, you just be Popishtim. Do you know how I could avoid change?
Poppy:(putting down her pretend broom) Are you sure you want that? It isn't really that fun. I can’t fix up my house or grow any new crops.
Goob: I'm sure. Change isn’t any fun.
Poppy: I’ll tell you what. If you can go seven days without sleeping, I’ll give you your wish.
Goob: Really? Thank you so much! Trust me, I’m very good at not sleeping- (falls onto the floor and pretends to sleep)
(Goob stays on the floor for a minute and then wakes up)
Goob:(yawns) How long have I been out?
Poppy: Seven days. Look, the leaves started falling in the time you were asleep. (holds an orange leaf up to his face)
Goob:(frowning) Oh.
Poppy: I’ll give you one last chance though. If you can find a shiny rock at the seaside and give it to me, then you’ll have your way.
Goob: Oh, that’s easy! I’ll have it to you before you can say crayon.
(Goob searches in the lake for a long time before getting a nice smooth stone out. He then pretends to pass out. Gigi passes by)
Gigi:(snatching the rock) Mine. (places it into her head and walks off)
(Goob wakes up and notices the rock gone)
Goob: Oh come on! Not again!
Poppy:(walking up to him) You should be happy-
Razzle:(walking towards Goob) Ooh, a rock- Oh, I guess I’m late. Go on (leaves)
Poppy:(staring at Razzle for a minute) As I was saying, you should be happy that it didn’t work. Change is amazing.
Goob:(harrumphs) No, it isn’t.
Poppy: Well, you better start heading home. It’s getting late.
Goob: Fine. (stomps off)
[Scene: Goob’s room]
(Goob stomps into his room, which has the curtains closed to make it seem like nighttime. He gets a stool to put his paper crown on and then gets in his bed, which has a new blanket on it)
Goob: I hate change. (falls asleep)
(Finn puts down the camera and opens the curtains, showing the late afternoon sky. Goob pretends to wake up and yawn)
Goob:(stretching his arm a bit and feeling the blanket with the other) That was the best sleep I’ve gotten in a while. Wow, this blanket is the warmest I’ve ever had.
(He gets out of bed and reaches out his arms enough that he can grab his crown)
Goob:(shocked) I can reach my crown by myself! Maybe this change thing isn’t such a bad thing afterall!
Finn:(from behind the camera) Goob, is this almost done? I have to go fishing soon.
Goob: Yeah, we’re done.(staring right at the camera) I’m hoping you’re having fun at college, Scraps! I’ll see you when you get home!
(The video ends)
[Scene: College dorm]
(Scraps is looking at the TV, tearing up)
Scraps: How sweet of him.
(She takes the tape out and then uses a pencil to rewind it to the beginning before putting it back into the player)
(Episode ends)
