Chapter 1: What an awful encounter.

Chapter Text

The night shines, showcasing its odd teal light as I watched a window from the homeowner's house. It was weird knowing how the world is suddenly collasping right in front of us, and new creatures rose despite the sun threatening to explode, or just eat up earth as a whole, who knows how the outcome will be? Hell, why is it now these beings, well known as visitors, rise? Is it just to fuck up everything even more since the world is gonna end? All of it felt off, but I can't put it into words as to why I think that way.
I've moved from shelter to shelter, worrying too much about how people view the way I am, and I ended up being at this lone house up on the hill after moving around so much. It's only been a day or two since I got here, but the guests I've chatted in the storage room are pretty nice. It felt nice knowing I'm getting my social skills improved, even after all of this.
But it wasn't gonna be worth it anyways, how are we ever gonna survive, let alone rise back up? There wasn't any way of that happening now.

Knock, knock, knock.

The knocks jolted me back to reality, and I turned my head to the door. Now that I think about it, the homeowner has been sleeping for longer than expected. Even if I've been only staying for a day or two, I know he's up around midnight from I've heard from guests. I guess he was oversleeping at this time, and I'm already out from the storage room, so why ignore the knocks?
I straightened my back, adjusting my tank top and getting my long ass hair out of the way, and went to peak through the peephole to see who it was.
Oh the lords of death, what the actual hell is that thing on the porch?

The thing had such a deathly pale skin i'd never thought I would see so saggy on ones body, its bones protruding out of its arms and torso. Its short greasy-looking black hair slid across its face, one eye on its face focused on my own while the other was slightly on the side. The only clothing it had on were some black pants, and that was all I was able to see from that peephole. His unnerving smile was just the cherry on top of it all, I had genuinely no idea what the hell this thing was. Was it that pale thing I have heard about before?
I only froze in place as I watched it bend over to take a closer look at my eye, in which seems to notice I wasn't the homeowner. Its grin only widened further, and it spoke up.

"Are you a guest in this Hermit's house?"

Its damn voice made me back off, its voice sounded so god awful to my ears that I was barely able to register it's tone. Before I could really stop myself to think about what to say, though, I replied to its question.

"Yes, I am."
"I would assume, considering you have brown eyes rather then blue-green eyes." It replied back, taking out a small chuckle from its throat.
So, I'm now hearing this wasn't its first visit. How great was that?

"Guess he isn't alone then, hm?" its sinster voice spoke once more, which made me grit my teeth. I already hated that stupid tall being, but I didn't wanted to be too much of a bitch to it, considering it could crush my body from what I have heard from other sides.
I simply nodded, hoping this conversation ended quick. The being leaned back, not being all up in the peephole now, and took one single nod. Seems like it wasn't super happy about that, though.

"I see, then. Where is he anyways?"
"I'm assuming he's oversleeping. Didn't see him up at all yet." I replied, trying to keep my words a bit vague and short.
"That would be understanding. Now, who is this guest I'm speaking to?" It asked, in which I frowned behind the door.
"Now why the hell would I give you my name? You're the last guy I'd ever give my name out to--"
"Isn't it Aleksandr?"

I completely froze again. How the fuck did it know my name? How did it even knew me? Was I part of its stalking? My mind was racing now, I didn't know how to get my words out without sounding like an idiot, but the being must've seen through my mind as it answered the question i didn't utter out.

"I've seen you around, asking others for shelter, only to get out of there just only a while later. You know your time is running out, dear Aleksandr."

So now I'm hearing I am apart of its stalking. There was no way it could've known that, and god knows what else it knows about me. The thought terrified me, but I tried to keep myself cool, as I didn't want to sprial over it, and spoke up.

"Listen, I don't know how the hell you managed to know my name, or how you even recognized me in the first place, but I'd like for you to leave."
"Hm... I was planning to, anyways, since it's clear the homeowner isn't alone. Just thought it was interesting to know you're in the hermit's house."
"Hope we meet again soon, dear Aleksandr."

And then.. the thing just walked off the porch and continued on with whatever it does. I've never thought something would've noticed me like that, or at all. I should've been more careful to not be spotted.
It was whatever, though. At the end of the day, the being was atleast respectful enough to leave. That's all I could've wanted.
Suddenly, I heard the bedroom door open, and I turned around to see the homeowner walking over to the door, looking grumpy and probably wanting this night to be over with. He saw me crouched to the door, and seemed confused on what I was doing.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He asked it a croaking tone, rubbing his eyes with his fists.
"Just... answering the door. That's it." I shuttered out, sounding more scared than I wanted it to. Damn voice.
He caught on the tone, and seemed to understand of who I just encountered. This may have only been day five, but he already knew what was going on either way.

"I assume you saw the pale visitor?"

I nodded, my head feeling alot more stiff than I thought, which made me grab my neck from the back. He walked over and crouched down to my level.

"Okay, listen to me, Longhaired man. All you need to know is that he likes to aboustlely crush people in his hands, but he also likes to torment homeowners from what I can tell... which is what's happening to me right now." ...Seriously? Is that what he calls me???
"What I'm basically saying is that he's a dickweed. He may be around every few days. If anything, I rather not be alone, because he would take me away to god knows where."
"...Maybe I can stay around so you're not lonely?" I suggested, even though it felt weird saying that. The most I've stayed in shelter was atleast two days, mainly because of the sun threatening anyone trying to go outside, but I didn't want this homeowner to be a victim from whatever the hell the pale visitor is doing.
"You sure about that?" He asked, his head going up ever so slightly.
"I mean... I quite literally saw what the hell that guy looked like, and I rather not leave someone alone to deal with him."
"Fair enough. I guess you can stay around for as long as it's needed." He said, in which I nodded.

I got up, and went back to the storage room, while another knock was at the door. This time, the homeowner will be able to answer it. I went to a corner, looking at the two other guests fidgeting around. I turned my back, taking off my tanktop to get the binder off me. I rather not have breathing problems, espically at this god forsaken time.
I put the tanktop back on, and placed the binder at top of one of the boxes. No one paid attention to what I was doing, thank god. It was weird knowing I was gonna have to do that for a while now, but I'll get used to it.
For now, I want to take my rest for the night, as I didn't have an idea on what else to do, and I rather not stand around and be bored. So I sat down, slouched my head over, and closed my eyes for the night. Maybe tommorrow will be promising.

Notes:

Hihi!! Thanks for reading the first chapter!! Do note that I am open to crictism, as I think I'm still a bit rough with writing stuff... but I do hope you enjoyed this chapter!!
Not sure when Chapter two will be out but I'll try getting there whenever I have fully got the idea on how it'll play out ^_^

For now though, stay tuned! Again, I am open to crictism, and I don't mind suggestions, as I still have only two other plots in mind, and one is a bit more later as the chapter goes...
