Chapter Text
Hasegawa's POV ~
"WHO'S READY TO GET THIS SHOW STARTED!!!" Rui was hyping up the crowd for their last show in Shibuya. And I, like many other fans, cheered. The stands increasing in volume by levels I couldn't hear myself in. "And remember everyone!" Rui called out, "At the end of the show, me or Toshi pick someone from the crowd to come up on stage to get quizzed on a topic we decide. So who knows, it could be you! NOW LETS HEAR YOU ONE MORE TIME!!!!" A loud eruption ensued just after.
Safe to say I was pumped. As I was finally able to get tickets to the help of my good friend Watari Nishino, who guided me through the overwhelming site and actually helped me get front row seats before the flood started coming in. Safe to say I ended getting both her and a plus one of her choice tickets as a thank you. I ended up buying tickets for another good friend of mine, Hayashi Mai, to accompany me, as shes a big fan of the duo just as much as I am. Speaking of the duo, if you haven't heard they're a 2 membered band consisting of Tamba, stage name Rui. The main vocalist, and Kamimura, stage name Toshi. The band's guitarist. Both extremely talented people who started from nothing in Osaka, to becoming one of the most popular bands in Japan. I found them around 2 years ago when they were still small, and ended up getting incapsulated. The rest being history as they quickly climbed charts and started getting partnerships and having actual concerts.
Out of the 2, my favorite was Toshi. His long electric blue hair with the ends of his side locks fading into a dark purple, and those dark rose gold eyes captivating the room with just a glance. He's the less social one from the 2, but his mysteriousness makes him so interesting, as you never know what goes on in his mind when he makes the instrumentals to go perfectly with Rui's outstanding vocals. I find him very fascinating, almost something sacred you would find in an aquarium. You can't touch or get too close, but simply admire from afar.
I noticed him at one of my quiz shows a few months ago, even though he was in incognito-ish (if you could even hide such bright colored hair..) and I swear my heart jumped out of my chest. I could tell he knew what I was thinking and gave me a shushing motion, putting his finger up to lips for me to keep quiet while giving me a light smirk. I stayed composed for the remainder of the show and ended up winning, but internally I was freaking out. And basically told everyone I knew.
As I was still thinking about how I could swipe all the Toshi merch before other fans would pile the stands, I felt a nudge to my side. It was Mai, who was decked out in Rui merch similarly to me being covered in Toshi merch, was giving me glances between me and the stage. I followed her eyes to see that Toshi was seemingly looking DIRECTLY AT ME? My eyes widened and I felt my face grow hot. I quickly turned back to Mai and whisperer yelled in her ear:
"HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN STARING? I WAS SPACED OUT FOR LIKE FIVE SECONDS???" at least it felt like 5 seconds.
"I dunno. He was just scanning the crowd and ended up stopping here." she turned to me, "Do you think he recognizes you? From like, the time he came to your show?" Now having a smirk on her face. "Or he's staring because you're in merch he probably didn't even know about and thinks you look like a dork." Her teasing made my face grow even hotter.
I backed away from her ear, making a slight pout. "If he thinks I look like a dork, just wait until Rui sees you." Mai gave me a snicker in response, nudging my side again more playfully. It was a good thing I at least had Mai here instead of Nishi, who was in a few rows behind us with her plus one, Okazaki. Because if Nishi was here, she would've been teasing me way more than Mai and making my presence even more known to the duo.
I turned back to the stage to see that he was still staring, before smiling and turning to Rui, who was talking to the crowd. I watched as Toshi tapped her on the shoulder and started whispering in her ear while still looking at me. I wouldn't as bothered if Rui didn't start looking at me too. Her expression going through 5 phases: confusion, acknowledgment, surprise, excitement, and ending with a grin that said trouble in every way. I just wanted to crawl into a hole in that moment out of embarrassment. I looked at Mai, how was quietly laughing at this situation. Ugh, she wouldn't let me forget about it after this show is over.
After Toshi finished what he was telling Rui, Rui gave him a cheeky grin before putting the mic back up to her mouth, "Before we finally start, it seems that our Toshi has finally decided to pick a fan since the start of the tour! So be ready because tonight is special!!" A loud barrage of excitement came from the crowd as Rui looked straight at me and gave a wink before Toshi played the first chord that rung across the whole stadium. An F and or G I couldn't decipher, but i suddenly forgot everything and started cheering with the rest of the audience. Me and Mai now having our arms linked together as we cheered for our preferred member.
It started nearing the end of the show, but with how every song got the crowd pumped, it still felt like it was starting. And by then I'd basically forgotten the whole interaction entirely, cheering like any other fan with Mai. As the last song came to an end, Toshi played a loud power chord, Effortlessly posing with Rui as the chord rang out, beads of sweat downcasting from his face as he held his electric guitar. With Rui in a similar situation, but with a bright smile as she composed herself. Everybody in that stadium exploded with joy, me and Mai included. As we yelled so loud I thought we'd break the sound barrier.
While everyone else was calming down from the aftershock of this whole thing, me and Mai were quietly conversing, again not noticing the blue haired guitarist was staring.
"Do you think Mao would let me travel just to go to the concert in Kyoto?" I wondered out loud, having my hand to mouth in a thinking gesture.
"I doubt it. Unless you had like a show there yourself or something." Mai said back plainly. "But if you do and she says yea, I'm expecting you to bring me. Or at least take pictures." Crossing her arms as she finished her sentence."
"You know well I would." Whacking her lightly with my glow stick , a fond smile across my face. Mai attacking me back with her glow stick in response.
As me and Mai were still talking and whacking each other with our glow sticks, I glanced back at the stage to see that Toshi was laughing in both me and Mai's direction, seemingly finding our interaction funny. I now felt a little shy in that moment.
"Toshi's been paying an awful amount of attention to this side, I thought you said this side of the stadium doesn't get looked at often." Mai looked at me questioningly. Attacking me one more time before turning back to the stage.
"It doesn't!" I quickly said back with my hands out in a defensive manner, trying to block the hit. "But this is still the front row. "Of course we'd at least get a little attention.." I admittedly had the same question in the back of my mind, but it's a little late to mention that now.
*Ding!* My phone rang out. Who could be texting me around this time? Taking my phone out of my pocket and lowering the brightness, the little fox emoji signified that it was Nishi.
Nishino!🦊
Keeeenn! I know the show isn't over yet but like.. where's the exit?? Hananos been asking and im getting hungryyy!1!1!1!
Me
Aren't there like doors at the end of the hallway when you leave the row? Were you not paying attention when you came in?
Nishino!🦊
Not really.... but it's not that big a deal, me and Hanano can just come and find you and Hayashi later. Thanks anyways Ken!
I liked the message and put my phone back in my pocket.
"Anything important?"
"No, just Nishi asking where the exit in her section was."
"Pretty reasonable, this place is fairly big."
"You don't say.."
"Oh yeah, Toshi mentioned that they would be asking marine based trivia this time around." Mai continued on, "But if you asked me, I think Toshi's gonna be asking most if not all the questions."
I gave a hum in response, looking back at the stage while Rui was ranting to Toshi about something, flaying her hands in the air like a manic.
Toshi, giving an amused smirk, saying something I could only read as that's too bad. And lifted the microphone up to his mouth. Wait isn't that Rui's? When did he take it? Before I could wonder any longer, Toshi turned to the right side of the stadium, the side me and Mai were on and said into the mic:
"Get on up here Quiz Guy!"
Quiz Guy?
..
Wait.
