Chapter Text

Tommy didn't remember much… only that the guy who tried to rob him, came back and tried again? He wasn't sure, but his head ached a lot.

“Is he okay?” a whisper from not far could be heard, it was faint. Ha… they’re bad at being quiet, he smirked.

A stinging pain rushed through his body, causing him to wince as he began to shift to his side.

“Tommy!” one voice quickly called, Tubbo.

“Hey man…” Tommy winced again, clutching his side. “What happened?” Tubbo looked at Tommy, his eyes wide with confusion.

“You don't remember- You got shot!” Tubbo scolded, “Why did you do that?” he questioned. All Tommy could do was shrug… he didn't know, but he wasn't in the mood to be scolded more.

Tubbo tended to him for a few days, running the shop and taking control of things until Tommy got better.

“Get back in there!” he yelled one day as Tommy tried to sneak out to work.

“I will strap you down!” Tommy slowly sulked back into his room.

“Ok… fine.” Tubbo relented. Tommy walked all proud, only to find out the store was empty… and it was Saturday. “Now go. to. Bed.”

“So… what happened to the guy that shot me?” Tommy asked, setting himself down next to Tubbo. “I don’t think he’ll come back.

“Oh… he was arrested.” He looked off to the side. “I don't think we’ll see him again.” He smiled wide, not reaching his eyes. Tommy looked down at his drink, looking at his tiny reflection in the mug.Once Tommy got back to work, something was off. Tubbo was off. Constantly watching Tommy, like… he shook his head, going back to his work. Tubbo’s gaze burned into the back of his head, watching as a wave of green surrounded the human in front of him.

Tommy walked downstairs, later than usual, Tubbo made him sleep in, since he was still injured, there was a bit of a commotion.

“Ma’am please stop yelling…” Tubbo was in the middle of a woman yelling, and a child. “Is he your kid?” She shook her head, but continued to yell. Telling the child cruel words and getting too close for comfort.

Tubbo grew uncomfortable, shrinking in on himself, slowly moving back from the interaction. The older woman stepped closer to the boy, her hand getting higher as she locked her eyes on the boy. “I’ll teach you manners, boy!” as soon as she'd gotten an inch too close, her hand was dragged down to the floor. Her knees hit the ground as her limbs were restrained by- vines?

Tommy took his eyes off the woman, blinking rapidly, not realizing he was staring at her. Ripping his gaze off her, he looked at Tubbo, the ram's eyes locked onto him. An almost haunting stare, wide eyes, his jaw slightly agape.

The vines slowly retracted from the woman, as she stood up she looked at the boy, an almost apologetic stare, and she left…

Tommy picked his chest up, watching as she left the building, a strange feeling leaving his body. Tingly, and… wrong. He continued to the kitchen, ignoring the gaze Tubbo burned into him.

Tommy was ready to close for the weekend, his body ached and he was excited to go to the market later, “Tubbo! You ready?” He called, more excited than usual. He’d never genuinely hung out with many people, anyone in fact, even while being a foster kid, he never really was able to go out. As Tubbo rushed down the stairs a smile plastered on his face as well, he grabbed his coat from the rack, the two put their shoes on and left out the back door.

The market was great! Tommy traded and bought new bandanas for his collection, along with patches and some honey. He was having a blast, and all the cares in the world were gone, while Tubbo watched his best friend explore, he asked around. There were many people with powers, but not many could use them unless they were registered… and he was sure Tommy had some type of power. He wasn't even sure it was a power, he’d studied them, but he’d never seen anything like Tommy, not after what happened.

Tubbo felt himself shrink in on himself, he felt small again, being yelled at, even if it wasn't him. He looked at Tommy for solace, but Tommy was slightly hunched over, his eyes trained on the woman, his eyes began to glow red as a green mist left his body aiming for the woman, his eyes locked onto her. The vines latched onto her, dragging her down to the little boy's level, fear creeping into her eyes.

Tubbo asked, getting off looks, then played it off telling them it was for school, he kept his eyes on Tommy. He doesn't know?

Once the two made it back home, there was a small basket greeting them at the front door.

“Lets get everything inside first!” Tommy exclaimed, thinking the basket was more goodies. They settled their things inside, strolling back outside to grab the basket as small coos filled the air. The two boys looked at each other, confused but continued to walk, when the cooing turned into cries, Tommy ran towards the basket, falling to his knees as his hands gently entered the basket. The human boy's face dropped, his hands shook as he pulled out a bundle. The cries rang in the air.

“Tommy? What is it?” Tommy stood up, walking past Tubbo, then grabbing the ram's hand, pulling him back to the building.

“Tommy?” The other boy's head was buried into the bundle, his body shaking.

Tommy?

“Its a fucking baby…” Tommy looked up, tears streaming down his face, showing the bundle, a small thing, its black fuzzy fur, small red eyes and little fat arms reaching out, cooing softly.
