Chapter Text
Jungkook pulled up outside Taehyung's house and shifted his truck into park. "So Seokjin said he and Hoseok convinced their parents to shut down the pool on Saturday so we can have a junior staff party." Jungkook informed Taehyung. "If you're not already going with someone…maybe you could go with me? Like as my date?"
Taehyung giggled and leaned over to press a kiss to Jungkook's cheek. "As if I would want to go with anyone else?"
"Even though I've been a pigheaded ass for most of the summer?" Jungkook asked.
"You're my pigheaded ass." Taehyung said, reaching out to brush Jungkook's hair out of his.
A tiny smile tugged at Jungkook's lips for a moment, then he looked at Taehyung with a solemn expression as he took his hand in his. "I am genuinely so sorry for the way I've treated you and the others and I'll spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you."
"I know." Taehyung said softly, squeezing Jungkook's hand. "Would you like to come in? My mom's not home."
"Are you sure?" Jungkook asked, and when Taehyung nodded, Jungkook took his hand out of his so he could turn his truck off and climb out. He hurried around to open Taehyung's door before Taehyung could climb out himself, taking his hand once more as they headed inside. "It's quiet." Jungkook murmured as they entered the house and kicked their shoes off.
"My mom's working late tonight." Taehyung said, tugging at Jungkook's hand to lead him upstairs to his room.
Once they were in there, Taehyung pulled Jungkook onto his bed with him but Jungkook didn't quite relax and cuddle Taehyung just yet even though he knew that's what Taehyung wanted. "I really am sorry." Jungkook reiterated.
"You don't have to keep apologizing." Taehyung assured him. "Your actions have already started to make up for it so just continue with that and you're good."
Jungkook nodded and took a deep breath. "I spent far too much of this summer focusing on and worrying about the future but I'm done with that. I promise from now on to only focus on the present, especially when I'm with you. I want to enjoy every second I get with you."
Taehyung smiled brightly, lifting his arms to loop them around Jungkook's neck. "Well, I would very much like to enjoy kissing you at this present moment." Jungkook's bunny smile returned and he leaned in to press his lips to Taehyung's.
The kiss stayed soft and gentle for a moment, but gradually grew in passion, Jungkook pressing closer to Taehyung as Taehyung parted his lips to deepen the kiss. Taehyung tightened his arms around Jungkook and slowly leaned back against his pillows, pulling Jungkook on top of him. Without breaking the kiss, they both shifted until they were more comfortable with Jungkook lying on top of Taehyung, their bodies slotting together perfectly.
After a while, Taehyung suddenly unwrapped his arms from around Jungkook and dropped his hands down to the bottom of Jungkook's shirt, tugging at the hem slightly. Jungkook quickly understood what Taehyung wanted and broke the kiss to look down at him. "Are you sure?"
Taehyung nodded, holding Jungkook's gaze. "I've never been more sure of anything in my life." Heart pounding in his chest, Jungkook leaned down to capture Taehyung's lips once more as Taehyung began pulling his shirt up, only parting from him again so he could pull it over his head.

Music was blasting and the country club pool was full of teenagers laughing, screaming, and just having the time of their lives. Jungkook and his friends were playing basketball in the pool while Taehyung and Jimin sat on the edge, watching their boyfriends splash each other and yell taunts while sipping punch with little umbrellas in their glasses. "Someone seems happy." Jimin mused, playfully nudging Taehyung in the side. "Is there something you'd like to share with the class? Specifically in regards to what you and Jungkook may or may not have done last night?"
Taehyung couldn't help but smile, his cheeks flushing a bit. "A true gentleman never tells." Taehyung said before taking a loud sip of his drink.
"Too bad." Jimin shrugged. "Now I guess you'll never know what Yoongi and I did." Taehyung laughed and shoved Jimin's shoulder, causing Jimin to reach down into the pool to splash water at him.
When the two of them calmed down, Taehyung sighed contently. "Despite all the drama, I would still say this summer has been the best summer I've ever had."
Jimin blinked at him. "I am so sorry for whatever childhood you had."
Taehyung shot him a flat look before turning back to the game going on in front of them, another smile tugging at his lips at the sight of Jungkook having fun. "I can't wait for next school year."
