Chapter Text
School was tiring, it always is, but Buddy missed his old pal dearly. Being held back a bit, he's not quite the same age as all the others in his grade. It means not many kids get along with him. Mr. Muffins is his oldest and only friend, all he has.
His mother was not able to pick him up, but it was no matter. This day was beautiful, he didn't mind walking.
He walks up the steps of his family home, using the key his mother gave him to open the door and announces his presence.
"Oh dear, you're home!" His mother rushes out from the kitchen, cupping her sons face in her hands, with a smile. "That's good, I was worried about you walking all by yourself!"
"I'm alright, ma!" He hugs his mom.
"I'm just starting supper early since it takes a while to cook. Mr. Muffins is in the living room, let me know if you need anything." And with that his mother walks back into the kitchen.
Buddy walks in to the living room, seeing the long liven, white dog he loves so much, his little head resting on his paws as he stares at the television.
"Hello, Mr. Muffins! I'm home. I missed you!" At that, Mr. Muffins picks his head up quickly, staring eagerly at Buddy.
"Just in time, I Love Lucy is about to start." Buddy understands as he sits down close to Mr. Muffins.
"Oh boy!" He gets comfortable cuddled up to Mr. Muffins. "But, haven't we seen this a million times?"
"You see somethin' new every time." Mr. Muffins barks, wagging his tail slightly.
"Well any time with you is a time well spent, Mr. Muffins!" Buddy says happily, giving his bestest friend scratches and pats.
