Gilbert opened his eyes and saw someone familiar.
"Brother! You are awake."
Ludwig said staring at his older brother. Gilbert tried to recall what happened, so him and Matthew was walking back to his room and he passed out? Speaking of Matthew, where was he? Also how long was he unconscious? He had lots of questions. But he decided to keep them in as he forced himself to sit up.

Matthew lay in his room. He was worried about Gilbert and he didn't know how he was doing. The doctors obviously won't tell him anything, he's not family but he was still extremely terrified Gilbert wasn't okay! He stared at his stuffed bear he had brought when he first came to the hospital, given by his Papa when he was 3. He had forgotten about him after he rolled under the bed and he found him just today. Kumakushi? Kumajiro? He was venting to his bear, it tilted it's head as Matthew accidentally touched him like it didn't know who he was. How pathetic is he? He wanted to cry but he couldn't. He buried his face into his pillow to try and drown out the world sniffling and then he groaned and punched his bed without getting up and then he just stay still.
After a while of getting annoyed by nothing and everything he sat up and decided to go Visit Gilbert.. well that is if Gilbert's still in the same room. He walked and hesitated and peeked inside the room. Gilbert was in fact there with a blonde guy, he was kinda buff? Well not really but that's what Matthew thought. Ludwig, why does Matthew know about Ludwig? Well Gilbert's pretty talkative isn't he? Obviously he would know about Ludwig. He stared at them before Ludwig had turned around and saw him. Oh god he must look like a creep

Gilbert wasn't really paying attention to Ludwig, he was lost in thought. He saw his brothers head turn so he also looked at where he was looking. It was just Matthew peeking into the room, though he looks like a child who got caught stealing candy because he slowly closed the door without making eye contact
"Birdie?"
Gilbert had said and the door opened again, wider
"Oh uh.. hi."
Matthew muttered. Ludwig looked between the two of them
"Brother who is that?"
"Oh that's my friend Matthew!"
Gilbert gestured at Matthew to come over, so he did. He sat on the edge on the bed, it was a bit awkward since Matthew and Ludwig didn't know each other
Matthew fidgeted with the hem of his shirt, he was nervous. Ludwig just stared at him, he stared at the floor, Gilbert looked between the two of them
"Heyyy!"
Gilbert broke the silence waving his arms then putting a hand on Matthew's arm
"Well uh. I should properly introduce you two right?"
He said patting Matthew's arm
"Ludwig this is Matthew, Matthew this is Ludwig!"
Gilbert exclaimed, he felt the need to de-tense the room. They both just nodded and Gilbert had decided to talk about some time he was awesome or something. Matthew listened with interest, and after a while the tense atmosphere had lightened so Matthew and Ludwig had exchanged a few words, becoming acquaintances at most, which further gave him ego. After a while Ludwig had to go home and Matthew was going to go to the bathroom so they had went out at the same time.

Matthew had just said goodbye but Ludwig had stopped him
"Thank you"
"For.. what?"
"For being my brother's friend. A lot of people find him too much so he doesn't really have any true friends"
Ludwig paused staring at Matthew, when he visited Gilbert back on December 11 he wouldn't stop talking about Matthew. And he felt like there was something else going on
"Please do keep on being friends with him, ever since he's met you he doesn't seem so sad about being stuck here. And I feel like there's something special between you two."
Gilbert knew that sounded cheesy and didn't sound like him but it was truth. There was something special between them two

Something.. special? Matthew couldn't help but blush a bit. He didn't know he had such an impact on Gilbert
"O-oh.. I find him special to me too"
He all of a sudden wanted to dig up a hole and die. Why did he say that? Ludwig just smiled then said goodbye leaving Matthew there. He went to the bathroom and then back to Gilbert's room, he kept everything Ludwig said in mind. All of a sudden he felt more confident in approaching Gilbert.
He opened the door and Gilbert looked up with a grin
"Hi birdie! What took you so long"
"Nothing."
Matthew said smiling as he sat down on the bed as Gilbert started talking again
Its the first time in a long time he didn't feel invisible
