''That's not very nice''
''It's not supposed to be nice, it's what traitors deserve''
Mindy had a drawing of Sophia and Emma getting ran over by car. The next panel showed their legs sticking out of garbage heap, Sophia's right leg was split with a bone sticking out-it was the leg she broke a week ago, Emma had a whole fit over it in class when she found out.
''Put that away before I tell Dad,''
''He won't do anything because he has a sense of humor'' she said sticking her tongue out afterwards.
''You just want to start a fight"
''And you think you're above a fight,''
Mindy crumpled up the paper then rocketed it at my face. Then she dashed up stairs before I could grab her by her shirt.
I unwrapped the crumbled paper so I could properly look at who was driving. To the surprise of no one, it was Mindy herself with serrated cartoon teeth and a feral look in her eyes. Mindy had sort of idolised Emma, she used to behave just like her. She had her blonde wig she'd wear sometimes just when she was around. But like a drug addiction she relapsed, started to get into fights and bring back her swearing habits. In a way both her and Emma stopped acting like perfect girls. She wasn't just pissed off at Emma and her clique for my sake she had her own bone to pick with them. As for Sophia id dint even know who told her about her leg, I hadn't mentioned in any journal and even if I did I hid those harder after I got my powers. Sophia would be back tomorrow so I had to deal with that
Anyhow Mindy was now trapped in a battle with her homework, at her laziest it'd take her the whole night so I had some time to check on my costume.
My progress had been slowed, a few days something had gotten to about 20 of my black widows. I think I accidentally put them in some birds territory, or some raccoon was smart enough to see some spider couples heading into new locations. Did raccoons even eat spiders?
Whatever it was I hoped it choked on my quality silk. It had cost me a sleeve which would mean a week delay in my plans. But I could benefit from that, if I could figure out how to color the silk I wouldn't be going out in grey. A pure black suit with white outlines and maybe a cape, I could use my bugs to give a continuous flourish while I brooding on a rooftop. With a power like mine I would need some sort of intimidation factor having possibly bullet-proof armor wasn't going to cut it.
And then in just a few hours the widows were done, the legs were slightly more updated and that was about it for the day. Then I heard a knock from the basement door, it was probably Mindy and I opened the door it was.
''Are you working out?''
''Just light exercises''
''Just light, what's happening tomorrow?''
''Nothing, what do you want? And no I'm not helping you with your work''
''pfft! I've done that...All I wanted to do was apologise for throwing my paper at you and give you this!''
She pulled out a clear glass bottle of a brown liquid.
''It's kombucha, Gracie's mom had it imported it straight from Japan yesterday. Its got health benefits or something like that''
