Chapter 2: R.A.W.R

Notes:

btw I’m by no means shipping Rev with any of these oc characters so if it seems that way it’s just because I suck at writing character interactions and I think Rev gets easily flustered/rage baited.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

"You believe in vampires? Really?”

“Of course I ‘believe’ in vampires. Honestly, what kind of idiot doesn’t?”

“Really though? You?” the voice repeated, bewildered.

“Is everybody just going to ignore the fact that Rev just implied I'm an idiot?” a squeaky voice whined.

“Yes.” three separate voices said in unison.

“Wow, I see how it is guys,” The squeaky kid pouted, throwing up his hands, "No, no, don’t apologize, I understand. Everybody just hate on me because I tried to st—”

“Shut up Remi! We just made an important discovery! Don’t you realize the Rev Vennett, Mr. I’m-more-mature-than-you, Mr. You’re-all-idiots, Rev Vennett, just admitted to believing vampires, you know mythological beings, stuff of legends, are real.”

“Wha— I don't act like that— Besides, why are you making this such a big deal?! I was— You said— I— You were one that said you believe in vampires first!” Rev sputtered in a sudden outburst, face burning red.

“Yeah but I don’t have straight A’s in all my classes, and— I don’t know— thinking vampires are real is like— I don't know— the same level as thinking unicorns are real!” The voice huffed, arms thrown up in defeat.

“ . . . “ Rev opened his mouth only to abruptly shut it, obviously thinking better of whatever it was he was going to say.

“You think unicorns are real?!?” The kid squawked, raising a finger abruptly to point it at Rev.

“Why does that surprise you so much?! You just said that if you believe in vampires you probably believe in unicorns too didn’t you?” Rev shouted, swatting the hand away, his face somehow managing to turn an even deeper shade of red.

“Well yeah! But— vampires are kind of on brand— all dark and mysterious n’ stuff! But unicorns? They're like, all glitters and rainbows n’ stuff! And you— you're like—” the kid stammered, clearly unable to find the words, or rather the wording that would offend Rev the least.

“Kids!!!” a voice bellowed from downstairs, drawing out the vowel, “Is everything alright up there? I heard screaming!”

“EVERYTHING IS FINE MOM, WE’RE JUST PLAYING A GAME!” a girl with short bobbed hair hollered with volume completely unexpected from the usually quiet kid. “I told you guys we shouldn’t use my house to meet up.” She fussed, “None of you guys know how to talk like normal people, I swear.”

“Yeah Winnie, why’re you screaming so much?” Remi pipped up with a smug smirk.

“What?!” Winnie clamored, dramatically raising a hand to her chest, “Me?! It was REV who was screeching our ears off!”

“Oh please, as if I could ever be as loud as you.” Rev huffed, crossing his arms.

“Anyways, before you guys break out into yet another screaming match, I’d like to remind you we got together for a school project, remember? The only reason you guys were allowed over? The one due on monday?? Ring any bells?”

“Auuuuughhhh,” Remi groaned dramatically falling to the floor, “Really Anna, you’re actually making us do school work???”
