Chapter Text
“AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!”
Izuku jumped out of his skin the moment he heard a loud ass scream in the middle of the night.
He rushed across the rooftops as quickly as possible, holding his hood from the rushing wind hitting his face as he ran towards the scream that seemed to fade the closer he got to it.
Izuku glanced around quickly, making sure he wasn’t near any patrol routes before dropping down to see the commotion.
A boy looked around Izuku’s age, sunshine yellow hair with a streak of black the shape of a lighting bolt was in his hair. Around 4 middle schoolers surrounded him, looking ready to attack him while yelling insults at the boy because of his scream.
Izuku stared at the scene from the shadows, seeing how far this could escalate before he had to interfere.
Can’t just attack without proof of actual assault.
The boy with sunshine hair had sparks going off around him, looking terrified of the small group of kids that were his age.
One of the kids kicked a leg out and knocked down the boy, making him spark more but not enough to harm anyone.
Izuku felt his chest grow heavy at the scene, but that’s all he needed to see to act.
He ran towards the group of kids and kicked two of them in the back of their knees forcing them to fall. Izuku took out a knife from his pocket and pointed it at the kid who attacked the boy.
“Scram and maybe you’ll keep your fingers.” Izuku said eerily calm, keeping his fierce ruby eyes staying on the kid.
The group quickly scrambled out the alleyway, grumbling and yelling how ‘it’s not over’ like they were disney bullies.
Izuku let out a huff in amusement from their cheesy comments. Once they were out of view Izuku let his eyes land on the boy with sunshine hair.
The boy looked up at him with glistening eyes as if he were to cry any second and cheeks as pink as mochi.
Izuku shifted awkwardly and held a gloved hand out to the boy.
“Uhm… you okay?” Izuku asked quietly, not sure if the boy was about the sob in glee or furry.
The boy quickly got up from the dirty ground and wrapped his arms around Izuku’s neck as he sobbed into his shoulder, repeating “thank you’s” into his hoodie as snot and tears soaked into his clothing.
Izuku froze up at the touch, clearly surprised at the action. He stared at the boy with confusion before awkwardly wrapping his arms around the boy’s torso and patted his back.
They both stood there hugging each other for whoever knows how long but Izuku didn’t mind, the hug was warm and he didn’t get a lot of them.
After what felt like 10 minutes the boy pulled away and wiped his eyes while sniffling away his last cries away. He looked at Izuku like he just saved his dying family and held his hand out.
“Sorry about that, no one has stood up for me before so I just got emotional.. I’m Denki Kaminari! Thank you so much for getting those jerks away from me!!”
The boy – Kaminari – said gleefully as he waited patiently for Izuku to shake his hand.
Izuku felt awkward in this situation because he has saved many people for the few years he has snuck out to do this side-job but no one has hugged him and was quick to introduce themselves. He always just got the cops to head to the scene or helped the person get home if they were alone.
Izuku realized he hadn’t moved so he reached a hand out and grabbed onto Kaminari’s, his hands were warm against his glove as he shook his hand.
“I go by Rabbit, it’s no issue, I enjoy helping others. Uhm, do you want me to walk you-”
“Yes!! I- I mean.. yeah .. sure or whateva…”
Izuku stared at Kaminari who was as red as a tomato at this point from embarrassing himself. Izuku couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at his ridiculous behavior.
He let his hand go and smiled with his eyes.
“Lead the way then, Denki Kaminari.”

Denki was freaking out!!!
Some angel from the skies came down and helped him get his bullies away and now was walking him home and he looks so cool and-
Denki took a deep breath as he stopped his thoughts and glanced over at the angel who helped that called himself Rabbit.
He had a viridian hoodie on covering his hair, a black mask that hid half his face, black pants that had lots of patches and pockets on them that most likely held weapons, a blue bag hanging off the side his hip, a shield that wrapped around his chest and waist mostly looked like for protection, and had ruby eyes that could slice someone in half with a glare.
Who could blame him for fanning over how cool Rabbit looked!?
Denki held back a squeal that was about to escape his throat and tried to act nonchalant as he let Rabbit walk him home safely.
Would it be odd if Denki were to ask for his number? Probably.
Was he going to do it anyway regardless of the stranger danger rule? One billion percent!
Denki stayed silent as he thought of an excuse to get this guy's number, then took a deep breath as he opened his mouth to speak.
“Can I get your phone number?”
Denki froze mid breath as all the words from his mouth died out.
He didn’t expect Rabbit to ask!
Denki quickly pulled himself together and smiled widely.
“Yeah! Of course!” Denki said without hesitation, taking the phone Rabbit was now holding out to him. He typed it in and put his full name in before handing the phone back.
Denki realized that they were already in his apartment complex and sighed in relief at the sight of being near his home.
“We’re here! Thank you so much for walking me!! Have a good night, Rabbit!!” Denki said quickly as he waved at his hero and ran off into the complex, ready to fall asleep for 16 hours.

Izuku stood awkwardly in place after Kaminari ran off, his chest feeling warm at the thought that he had the boy’s number now and he didn’t even have to give a reason!!
Izuku felt a smile slip onto his lips, that he might have a potential new friend. He has always wanted a friend for so long.
After what happened with Bakugou it was hard to find anyone else without being afraid of the thought of harm.
He’s glad he ran to the loud ass scream tonight.
Izuku turned on his heel and continued his patrol for tonight.

Shouta stared at the waxing crescent moon with an intense gaze, already wishing for it to move towards the ground so he could head home and sleep.
He let out a loud sigh, already done with everything.
Tsukauchi put him in a new case, and it involved someone named Rabbit. Apparently, Rabbit is a vigilante that has been running around the streets for at least 2 years. Surprising considering the fact he hasn’t heard the name from anyone.
Rabbit has only started getting the attention of the detective because recently the police officers keep getting calls but when they arrive at the scene it’s only the victim by themselves and the villain usually is already out cold. Every time the victims say that someone named “Rabbit” saved them and ran off but not before calling the cops.
It started to become obvious and so Tsukauchi opened a case for the vigilante.
Shouta let his feet move him on autopilot, having done this job for years he knew his patrol route like the back of his hand.
Catching this vigilante wasn’t a priority of his, he has a reputation with vigilantes if anything so it was bold of Tsukauchi to think he would have this case as a high priority.
But the least he can do is try to get to know this ‘Rabbit’.
Time to start looking…
