Chapter 2: Aerolyte Citadel

Summary:

A strategy meeting :3

Chapter Text

The thieves met the next day in Tango’s apartment above the cafe to discuss their plans for infiltrating the Aerolyte Citadel, a heavily guarded historical archive for both humanity and Blazekind, to retrieve an unstable Blaze artifact, the Vesper Core.

What grinded Tango’s gears about the Citadel was only humans could enter it freely, and that, from what he’d heard from Etho, who’d been inside on a recon mission, the history was skewed by the humans in charge of the Citadel to paint the Blaze in a bad light.

Tango was only a little bit surprised that Impulse seemed to already know Rho.

“Tango, that’s the leader of Pixie/Dust, Scott Rho. I’d recognize his voice anywhere, even if I’ve never met him in person. He’s so confident he’s untouchable, he doesn’t use a voice modulator.”

“Wait, really? Looks like I have yet another thing I’ve got to feign ignorance about.”

Tango’s fellow Blaze tilted his head slightly.

“What’s the other thing?”

“I might be in love. Impulse, I can’t be in love with a human.”

“Okay. That certainly complicates things.”

“At least he’s getting along well with Etho, despite his hidden fox-hybridity.”

“Scott’s not like that, Tango. He doesn’t discriminate like the big businessmen. In fact, taking down those ‘asshole corporate execs’, his words exactly, was precisely why he formed Pixie/Dust to begin with.”

Notes:

I'm gonna try and update this every Saturday, but I can't promise that will always happen.

I might post early, is what I mean.
