Chapter Text

Riki’s shoulders hang as he walks away from the restaurant, the hostess and security guard waving him off.

“Fighting!” They call, and he’s not sure that it gives him much courage.

The walk back to campus goes faster than he’d like, distracted the whole way by couples and friends celebrating Valentine’s day with each other.

His head should be filled with anticipation, anxiety, his hyungs. But he sits down at the fountain on campus and looks around, trying to imagine what it would be like to be loved by someone enough to be their Valentine. The two girls sitting on a bench, bodies touching from their shoulders to their ankles as they laugh at couples passing. The people passing with arms of flowers, wafting the smell toward him.

One person makes eye contact with him, giving him a pitiful smile, and he looks down at his feet.

There’s a ten-won coin at his feet, dull from being stepped on and not obviously missed by anyone, so he grabs it. When he looks up, the courtyard looks mostly empty. With a quick look around, he tosses the coin behind him.

“If you were wishing to avoid us, you’re too late.” The voice startles him hard enough that he jumps. Except, with legs as long as his, all he manages to do is vault himself backwards into the fountain.

Riki is at his lowest, considering remaining underwater until the bubbles stop, but he’s tugged up by two sets of strong arms, and all he can do is hack up water once he’s sitting upright.

“Are you okay? Did you inhale any water?” Heeseung is patting his back gently.

Jungwon smacks his back much harder on the other side. “You’re not allowed to run away or die before we get the chance to talk. Do what you want afterwards.” He insists, a severe look on his face. Riki is entirely sure that Jungwon could manage to stall death if it meant getting the last word in.

As soon as they’re sure that he only looks drowned and not actually, they pull him to his feet. “Stay at our place tonight?” Heeseung asks, but based on the two iron grips on him, it’s not a question at all. He nods anyway.

This time, his walk is absolutely full of thoughts about the two figures on either side of him, keeping a grip on him as if he’ll make a run for it…Or as if it's simply because they want to hold him.

Jungwon and Heeseung’s apartment is his favorite place to be.

When he moved to Korea, Riki’s first two months were spent between his dorm and the dance studio. He wasn’t confident in his Korean, he was rising in the dance department for the instructor’s favorite, and generally miserable.

Two months in, Jungwon and Heeseung found Riki in the changing rooms holding onto a cut up hoodie. Jungwon went out to lay into the dance troupe while Heeseung promised to buy him dinner and get him a new sweatshirt.

That night, they brought Riki back to their apartment, put him in one of Jungwon’s hoodies, and fed him chicken until he fell asleep on the couch.

Now, Riki is more familiar with their couch than his own, so it doesn’t take but two steps to find himself in his normal spot between their places on the other sides of the couch. This time, instead of getting the chance to pull his knees up to his chest, they pin him between them, not leaving enough room for him to curl in on himself in embarrassment.

“Where did you run off to? We ran past the fountain like, four times.” Jungwon asks, voice firm.

Riki avoids their eyes. “I went to find Sunoo-hyung. And Sunghoon-hyung.”

“Aren’t they out to dinner?” Heeseung asks, but Jungwon barrels on.

“It was easier to run to them than to stay and talk to us?” Riki doesn’t look up at first, but when a gentle hand turns his head, he looks into Jungwon’s eyes. “We’re sorry, Riki. For kissing you without asking, for catching you off guard. But will you stay to talk?” He asks, softer than before.

Riki gulps, nodding. Jungwon relaxes minutely.

“I really am sorry,” Heeseung murmurs from behind him. We’ve…talked a lot about it, about how it would all go. I should have asked.”

“You talked about kissing me?” Riki asks dumbly. When he looks between them, they have matching looks of regret. “You…you’re with each other.” He adds, confused.

Jungwon and Heeseung share looks around him. “That doesn’t matter to us. When you stopped coming around as often, we realized we were used to it. That we’re better when we’re with you.” Heeseung explains softly, arms wrapped around his middle in nerves.

Jungwon nods from the other side. “It’s not that we don’t work, just the two of us. But when you’re with us, everything is smoother. You fill out the other things we miss in each other. So we decided to…divide and conquer. To see if it felt the same just with you as it is with each other.”

“So…you aren’t going to break up?” Riki asks.

Jungwon stares at him incredulously. “No? Did you tell him that?” Jungwon asks Heeseung, and Heeseung pulls back affronted.

“Why would I say we’re breaking up? We’re trying to add him to the relationship, not end it!”

Those words seem to hit Riki harder than anything else. “You want me to date you?”

“What did you think we meant?” Heeseung asks.

“That you wanted me to be like…A mistress?” He adds, digging his hole deeper. When he looks at Jungwon, he covers his face with his hands, rubbing his forehead. When he looks up, Riki expects him to be upset. But instead, his face is exasperated and fond.

“What do you feel, Riki? Have you ever considered it?” Jungwon asks.

Riki’s face goes red so quickly that he’s concerned the blood has fled the rest of his body to his cheeks. Riki has, in his guiltiest fantasies, imagined both of them. But he’s always shoved it to the bottom of his heart, to the back of his mind, so he didn’t come between the two on either side of him.

“I…Um.”

“If it helps…That’s what we’re hoping for.” Heeseung mentions shyly. Riki makes eye contact briefly before looking away, nodding.

“Thank god,” is the only thing that Riki hears before there are lips on his–again.

Jungwon’s kisses are just like him–demanding, leading. Jungwon’s hands frame his face, thumbs on his cheeks, fingertips gripping his jaw. His tongue breaks the seam of Riki’s lips, making him gasp and only giving him more access. Riki doesn’t mind–he enjoys the relief of giving Jungwon that control. Eventually, the shock wears off and Riki’s hands find their place on Jungwon’s thighs seconds before the elder pulls away, licking his lips for one last taste.

“Hyungs turn, Riki.” He directs, turning his head until Riki is looking at Heeseung, who’s cheeks are pink and pupils blown.

Riki makes the first move this time, twisting his legs around to get closer–only for Jungwon to push him until he’s falling into Heeseung’s lap. Their faces are only an inch away when Heeseung leans forward to close the distance.

Kissing Heeseung is just as calm and comforting as he is. Heeseung’s mouth is open from the beginning, not fighting for dominance, but offering. Riki takes it, kissing back and sighing when Heeseung’s hands find his hips. It’s not as long of kiss, but just as satisfying by the time they pull away.

“Be our valentine?” Heeseung asks, breathless, and Jungwon groans.

“You’re so corny.” He huffs, but Riki can hear the smile in it.

Riki leans back, still half on Heeseung’s lap. Jungwon settles in closer, waiting for his answer. Riki looks between the both of them, trying to imagine the future, but finding himself falling short, unable to imagine his wildest dreams in one moment.

He nods, letting cupid's arrow hit him twice.

“I don’t…I don’t know how to date two people.” Riki warns. There are two sets of hands on him, touching for the sake of touching.

Jungwon laughs. “Neither do we. I don’t know where all of this love came from, but I know there’s enough to give.”

Heeseung grins, squeezing them both softly. “It’s all from the heart. We’ll figure it out.”

“You’re the dumbest, luckiest man, Nishimura Riki.” Sunoo groans, flipping through bills in his hand.

It’s February 15th, and after spending a night working out the details of what a three-person relationship entails, Riki is getting coffee with Sunoo and collecting his check for the deliveries.

“I never let myself think this far.” Riki sighs dreamily. Sunoo sighs, throwing a stack of bills in front of Riki. “Where did all of this come from?” He asks incredulously.

“A thank you tip from Jay and Jake.” He smiles. “The new happy couple.” Sunoo giggles. Riki pockets the money without counting it, too high on the excitement of getting to see Heeseung and Jungwon later for dinner–their first official date. “Hey, I’m happy for you. Not sure how you’re going to manage two boyfriends without ever having one, but I’m happy for you.” He adds.

Riki smiles. “It’s all from the heart.”
