Chapter Text
If Copley had not taken a step back when Joe and Nicky entered the house, kissing, he would have gotten tea on his shirt.
Copley: "Nice seeing you again. And it's the last room on the left side."
Joe held up a thumb without breaking the kiss while Nicky steered them towards the room.
Copley: "And it's also nice seeing you again, Miss Freeman."
Nile: "Likewise."
Copley: "So, tell me, how was it being on a mission with the lovebirds?"
Nile: "Better now that they fixed whatever was going on between them, but I don't know what is worse. Them being sickly in love or them fighting."
Copley: "Given the long life you all are living, I say that it's better they are sickly in love, because love is always better than the alternative."
Nile: "Okay, I give you that one."
Nile took her backpack.
Nile: "One hard drive for you."
Nile handed Copley the hard drive.
Copley: "Thank you. And I see the hard drive is in one piece."
Nile: "Very funny. Tell me, is there hot water in the pipes?"
Copley: "I have given you the first room on your right side. It's the only room with a bathroom in this safe house."
Nile: "Sounds good. And thanks."
When Nile came back to the room Copley had claimed for himself, he was working on the hard drive.
Nile: "Was it the right hard drive?"
Copley looked up.
Copley: "Yes, and I tell you, by the end of the week, another guerrilla group will be dismantled, thanks to the info on the hard drive."
Nile: "Sounds fantastic. I'm going to make a sandwich. Do you need anything from the kitchen?"
Copley: "Maybe a cup of tea. This old man got himself a cold."
Copley was close to being 72 years old.
Nile: "I will make sure to add extra honey to your tea."
Copley: "Thanks, Miss Freeman."
Copley looked at Nile.
Copley: "Why are you looking so worried?"
Nile: "Just thinking, that maybe it's about time that you get to enjoy your otium. You know, read more books than working on hard drives."
Copley: "Thanks for your concern, but I'm not going to give up working for you yet. Who knows who you will get after me?"
Nile: "Is that your way of saying that you are the best at your job?"
Copley: "Exactly. So, don't worry about me, okay?"
Nile: "I'll try, but would you do me one favour?"
Copley: "If possible."
Nile: "Once Joe and Nicky have broken apart, would you not let Nicky have a look at you? It will ease my mind."
Copley: "As long as I don't have to drink the Crusade Tea again, then I will do it."
Nile: "Thanks. I'll make the tea for you."
Copley: "Thank you, Miss Freeman."
Nile smiled before she left Copley to work.
