Chapter Text

Three years later.

“Jimin!!”

Taehyung burst through the door the second Jimin opened it, looking like he was about to cry or explode—or both.

Jimin blinked, then started laughing.
“What’s wrong this time?”

“C-can I come in?”

Jimin frowned, immediately concerned, and stepped aside. Taehyung dropped onto the couch like his legs had given out.

“You’re alone?”

“Yeah. Yoongi’s at work.”

Taehyung let out a long, shaky breath.
“I… I think… No, I’m sure that…”

“That…?”

“I’m… I’m pregnant.”

Jimin’s eyes went huge.
“Seriously? You did a test?”

“Blood test.”

For about a week now, Taehyung had felt… off. Nauseous in the mornings. Tired all the time. His scent had shifted—subtler, warmer, sweeter in a way he couldn’t quite describe.

He’d bought a pregnancy test on impulse.

Two lines.

Then he’d gone straight to the clinic for confirmation.

Jimin leaned forward, grinning wide.
“How did Jungkook take it? He must be over the moon!”

Taehyung grimaced. “I… I haven’t told him yet. I… I’m scared of his reaction…”

“Taehyung.” Jimin gave him a flat look. “Jungkook is obsessed with you. Completely insane about you.”

“I know, but… we’re still... young. We only just got stable jobs. Jungkook’s still competing in boxing. We’re still in the same apartment and—”

Jimin sighed dramatically.
“Taehyung, stop inventing problems. To make this baby you clearly didn’t use protection. You knew it could happen. If Jungkook rejects this kid, he’s an asshole. But we both know he’s way more likely to faint on the spot from happiness.”

Taehyung let out a nervous laugh.

Yeah. Jungkook fainting was definitely a possibility.

“How do you think I should tell him?”

“Drop hints.”

***

That same evening, Jungkook came home exhausted. “Hungry, Kookie?” Taehyung asked, already in the kitchen.

“Not really, honestly.”

Jungkook wrapped both arms around him from behind, burying his face in Taehyung’s neck for a long greeting kiss. “But I’m not saying no to a quiet night on the couch, babe.”

Taehyung prepared a small bowl of snacks for Jungkook—chocolate, chips, gummies—and heated up a light ready-made dish for himself.

They settled on the couch, legs tangled, TV playing something they weren’t really watching.

“How was your day, sweetheart?” Jungkook asked, voice soft and affectionate, fingers playing with Taehyung’s hair.

Taehyung smiled shyly. “Good.” He hesitated. “I went to see Jimin… We talked about everything and nothing. Oh—did you know he and Yoongi are planning to move soon? Their place is getting too small for all their stuff.”

“No surprise. Yoongi’s been buying tons of equipment for his music production. It takes up space.”

Taehyung nodded. Jungkook cleared the plates, then came back and pulled Taehyung against his side again. “You… don’t want to move too, do you?” Taehyung asked quietly.

“Not really. The apartment’s big enough for two. Actually too big, since we sleep in the same room all the time now anyway.”

Jungkook wasn’t wrong. They had two bedrooms. But Taehyung couldn’t picture raising a child here.
The place was too small. Too noisy.

“For three… it’s small. Even with two bedrooms.”

Jungkook paused. “For three?”

“Mmh.”

Jungkook chuckled. “Yeah, three would be tight, but we’re only two, Tae.”

Taehyung sighed. He was being dense on purpose, wasn’t he? “You… don’t think my scent’s… different?”

The doctor had warned him it would start changing soon.

Jungkook sat up straighter. “No? Why? Your heat coming? You just got out of one, babe.”

“No… something else is coming…”

Jungkook laughed tiredly. “Babe, I’m exhausted. Speak plainly or I’m never gonna get it.”

Taehyung took a slow breath. Then he reached for Jungkook’s hand and gently placed it on his still-flat stomach.

Jungkook froze.

His eyes went wide.

He stared at his own hand. Then at Taehyung’s stomach. Then back at his hand. “You… you’re sure…?”

“Mmh. Blood test this morning.”

Taehyung looked away, suddenly nervous. “Look, Kookie… I know it’s a bit early, but I—”

Jungkook cut him off by kissing him—soft, tender, full of wonder. Then he dropped to his knees in front of the couch and pressed his lips to Taehyung’s stomach—once, twice, three times.

“I’m gonna be a dad?” His voice cracked. “I’m really gonna be a dad? I… I love you so much, Taehyung. I… I want this baby. If you want it too, obviously… but… I’m completely in.”

Taehyung collapsed into his arms, tears spilling over. “I was scared you’d think it’s too soon… I was scared…”

Jungkook stroked his hair, holding him tight. “Taehyung, never. Never in a million years would I be mad about something like this. I’m… I’m so happy right now. And if you want to move, then we move. I don’t care. I’m all in.”

Taehyung laughed through the tears.

Jungkook was the man—the alpha—of his life.
And soon, very soon, they would have their first child together.

“Boy or girl?” Taehyung asked quietly.

“Honestly? I just want them healthy. Gender doesn’t matter to me. But… I have one small request.”

Taehyung pulled back to look at him. “Mmh?”

“I want them to look like you. Your round cheeks. Your eyes. Your little round nose…”

Taehyung laughed. “I can’t promise anything… but whatever happens, I’m sure they’ll be beautiful. Like their parents.”

Jungkook chuckled. “You’re not wrong, love.”

Taehyung kissed him again—slow, sweet—then curled back into his arms.
They finished the movie like that: tangled together, quiet, happy, with a future finally wide open in front of them.
