I'm going to break down that AMAZING video of Shane Hollander punching his ex-teammate Gilbert Comeau and cross-checking (pun not intended) a few things we heard in it 🧵
> So the video starts out with Rozanov, Hollander, Pike, Boiziau, Boodram, and Barrett hanging out after the Montreal-Ottawa game. Comeau, Drapeau, and Carver are the ones who confront them, but Bauer, Simmons, and Woisky are also there as silent back up.
> The video starts out mid-confrontation with Pike making "captain" sound like an insult and Boiziau telling Comeau to walk away. If this is the type of energy between teammates, I can see why people are talking about the Metros "lacking cohesion" this year.
> The big thing everyone is talking about (other than the punch, we'll get to that) is the accusation that Hollander threw a game. There has been speculation about that since Hollander tripped in his last gave with the Metros, but this is the first time we've heard any of them acknowledge it directly.
> @analysisonice did a great breakdown of the game footage of the trip, by the way, and it's pretty obvious that it was an accident once you actually look at the facts. I love Hollander, but he's not a good enough actor to fake that level of shock and horror. Boy looked like he was about to cry. Most embarrassing moment indeed.
> Now to address the elephant in the room. The video shows Hollander himself saying that the Metros treated him "like garbage" and that's why he left. It's the first time we've heard an explanation from anyone involved and it's a pretty nasty one, but there's evidence to support it.
> We already know that Pike and Boiziau were the only Metros to attend the Rozanov-Hollander wedding over the summer. Considering Hollander was literally in Comeau's wedding party, that's pretty notable.
> Then if you take a look at the game they played that night, it's obvious that they were targeting Hollander. Even the reporters were asking about it, not that Hollander would say anything. He's too polite for that.
> It even shows in how they played near the end of last season, especially after Hollander got outed. Even then, people were noticing how most of the Metros were barely interacting with Hollander, both off and on the ice.

I regret the fact that our personal disagreements were made public last night, but I won't deny the way that @shanehollanderhockeyplayer was treated at the end of last season. I have never been so disappointed in my team. Shane was the best teammate I've ever had and I miss playing with him every day.

I will always be ashamed of my initial reaction to learning about Shane's relationship. I'm even more ashamed of how my team has treated and continues to treat the man that gave them his heart and soul for a decade. @shanehollanderhockeyplayer, I miss you, capitane. Come visit soon!

Can we PLEASE appreciate that nobody would know about the M*tros (except for Pike and Boiziau) being trash if their captain hadn't felt the need to pick a fight in a public bar over literally nothing

I would have loved to retire as a Montreal Metro and I'll always cherish the memories I made there, but it was made abundantly clear to me that there was no longer a place for me in the organization. I'm where I belong and I couldn't be happier.
