Chapter Text
Trinity woke up on the couch the next morning, sitting up and looking around with bleary eyes. There was a note on the fridge and on the coffee table next to her. She begrudgingly sat up and grabbed the note, rubbing the last of the sleep from her eyes as she read the note.
”I called you off for today, get some rest, eat, and drink water. I made some chicken soup, it’s in the fridge. Make sure to shower and get plenty snacks, I refilled the pantry. - Den”
”What a fuckin’ Huckleberry,” Trinity snorted, standing from the couch and rubbing the cricks out of her neck. She hummed, walking into the kitchen with the blanket still around her. Grabbing the other note, she sat in her chair, flipping it open.
”Uh me again! Just a couple more things. I bought a bunch of chocolate, it’s in the candy drawer. And I might have called Dr. Garcia… She’ll be here around five.. I think.. I don’t know. Anyway get some sleep, seriously. Your eye bags are gonna be bigger than mine at this point. - Den”
“Oh, definitely a Huckleberry,” she chuckled a bit, deciding whether to eat chocolate or soup. She went with the soup, of course. She’d never admit it, but Huck’s cooking is actually good. Obviously the grabbed a chocolate bar though. Can you blame her? It’s her off day and she’s got her period, she deserves a sweet treat. She sat in the living room and put her soup on their rickety old coffee table and turned on Grey’s Anatomy, prepared to criticize every medical mistake they made. And cry at the sad parts. Naturally.
She sat for a moment and thought about Gar- Yolanda. She was coming over, yes. But they were casual. That’s it, just casual. What would they even do? Trinity knows that she isn’t the best to be around, especially on her period. And she definitely did not want to talk medicine on her free day off. Sighing, she turned on a random episode of Grey’s Anatomy, slumping over on the couch with the soup.
After five episodes and two bowls of soup, Trinity dragged herself to her bathroom, turning on the bath. Why take a shower when you have an amazing bath and a roommate with amazing bath salts? She evilly cackled to herself, sneaking into Dennis’s bathroom to retrieve his lavender and vanilla bath salts. She took a cube of each, and smiled as she dropped them into her own tub. “Perfect.” Trinity nodded triumphantly to herself, grabbing new clothes and her chocolate bar before settling into the bath.
She was in there for at least an hour, turning some random videos on her phone and slowly munching on her chocolate bar. Hearing the door, she displeasingly got out of her tub, dried off, and threw on her period boxers and an oversized t-shirt. She stopped by the kitchen and grabbed yet another chocolate bar and shoving it in her mouth prior to opening the door. In the doorway stood Garcia, still in her scrubs, holding a bag of Raising Cane’s takeout.
“I didn’t know what you liked, so I got a few different combos and the cup sauce.” Garcia held up the bag, shrugging as she maneuvered past Trinity and set everything up on the coffee table. “Come on, Santos. Eat. I know that you’ve about only eaten chocolate all day.” She grabbed Trinity’s hand, tugging her over to the couch. Trinity, ever the confused woman she is, sat down and looked at Garcia.
“So uh.. what now? We just eat takeout and watch shows or whatever?” Trinity started eating one of the chicken strips, grabbing at the cup of sauce that they definitely didn’t need. She glanced at Garcia while dipping the chicken strip almost fully into the sauce.
”Well, Santos. We can either watch a show, or we can eat and I will go home. I mean, not much we can do with you being missus whiny pants that can’t go to work,” Garcia hummed, grabbing her own food and stealing the sauce from Trinity.
They ended up turning on The Office, watching the first season, and a bit less than half of the second before falling asleep. Dennis came home, quietly putting his stuff away. He grabbed a blanket and draped it over Trinity, who was practically on top of Yolanda.
Humming softly, Dennis picked up the garbage left over from the girls, wiped off the table, and went to take a shower. When he came back into the living room, Yolanda was awake, scrolling on her phone. When she saw Dennis, she spoke up; “Hey white chocolate, can you get my drink from the fridge? Don’t mix them up again,” she winked, shifting slightly.
Dennis groaned, rolling his eyes. “That was done time. It’s not my fault our toothbrushes were the same color,” he sighed, walking over to the fridge and grabbing an orange with Yolanda’s drink. He handed the drink to Yolanda, sitting in the armchair and peeling his orange. “You hungry? I can make uh.. Spaghetti, or something for dinner or whatever. I dunno, but I’m hungry.”
“Oh, white chocolate can cook? I’m flabbergasted.” Garcia snickered, nodding her head. She was prepared to grill the guy about his cooking skills, but he was, surprisingly, really good. She watched as he made homemade spaghetti sauce, even giving her a spoon to taste. “Not bad white chocolate. You are redeemed from using my toothbrush.”
“Seriously, that was one time.” Dennis sighed, adding a tablespoon of parsley and a fistful of sugar. He hummed as he finished making the sauce, turning to see if Trinity was awake. She was, and as soon as she was noticed she started complaining.
“Huckleberryyyy! I’m in so much painnn! Can you get my heating pad pleaseeee?” Trinity started begging, acting all sweet and teary. Dennis sighed, trudging to Trinity’s room to grab her heating pad.
When he got back, Garcia was setting plates of spaghetti and some bread out on the table, along with everyone’s drinks. They talked about their shifts and how Grey’s Anatomy is “so un-medically accurate,” says Trinity.
After watching two movies and eating cookies baked by Dennis, of course, Trinity and Garcia went to Trin’s room, and Dennis to his. Garcia and Trinity watched some more movies, having tomorrow off as well. They had snacks and drinks, and Trin had her heating pad on high. They ended up falling asleep a couple of hours later.
Dennis, meanwhile, was starting to get some cramps. He tried to sleep, but kept shifting. He did end up falling asleep, but not until almost three hours after he initially laid down. Dennis figured it was just from the T, since he only started a bit over a month ago. He finally fell all the way asleep, blissfully unaware of what was happening around him.
