Chapter Text
Everything was good in Severus's life. Great even, until now that is. His school starts in three weeks. So, now Severus paces around his room with the list of new books in his hands.
He did not want to go back, he really did not. He'd much rather be home. But education was important. And he really did love his friends at Hogwarts a lot. Not that he would ever admit it to their faces.
His pacing was finally halted by the door of his room opening. He turned his head and came to face with all of his cousins. Even little Alex was there.
"Sev, why are you pacing so much?" Caelus asked with a confused face that slowly morphed into a smirk. "Or.. is it that you're–"
"Nervous." Carlain finished his older twin's sentence.
Severus huffed and sat on daybed beside his windows. He was. He so was. He had decided not to change his name or tell anyone that he was a Prince yet. Well, not yet that is. He just felt that it too sudden of a change. He would take it slow. But he had decided that one day he was gonna ditch the Snape altogether and just keep Prince as his last name.
"I am not. Truly. I am just thinking about... class in fourth year."
"Is that why you are so pale?" Alex asked.
Severus glared at the trio and asked, "What are you guys doing here?" Both of the twins came closer to him and held Both of his hands on either side and cheekily said, "Let's go get lunch~" Severus yelped and almost screamed. "Why are you guys manhandling me?"
The walk to the dining table was a busy affair. The twins continued manhandling him as Alex trailed behind laughing at his misery. If he could use his want all of them would have at least two hexes thrown at them. Not the harmful kind of course. He liked their laughter too much for that.
He saw that all of the adults sans uncle Milan who was busy with househild affairs and could not make it. He watched as all of the adults engaged in quiet conversation started laughing when they saw him and his cousins. Severus was stated on the middle of side of the dining table. With Alex on his left and Caelus and Carlain seated on his right in that order.
He lightly waved at at all of the elders and greeted them. His mouth watered as he stared at all the food. Despite being here for weeks, if not months, he could still not get over the quality and taste of the food. Back at home he did not have even one-tenth of the food. His staring was interruped by his grandpa's voice.
"Darling, we've decided to shop for your school supplies the day after tomorrow. I have asked about it from other parents and they're all going on that day too."
"Do we have to? Wait, don't answer that. Of course we do."
Severus looked up and was met with pitiying eyes. Grandpa chucked. "Me, Aerin, Elysia and the twins will be going with you."
Severus wondered how wx's neck didn't snao with how fast he looked up. "What about me? Why dont I get to go?". "Because, you are still a child." Severus said. Alex huffed and started mnuttering about how unfair it was. Everyone in the table tried not no laugh at Alex's pout.
Severus hesitated quite a bit before he asked, "Could I get a new owl? I've never had one." His bravery was crushed by the silence surrounding the room. He was going to say that it was no problem even if he could not but before he could say anything, his grandpa did. "Of course you can! Severus, I am truly sorry for not realizing your lack of an owl. I should've realized it."
"It's no problem." Aerin huffed and put her cutlery down. "Of course it is, dear. We should've known better. We'll fix it. We'll get you two owl and a pet for school!"
"That is not needed. I don't think that is even allowed."
"Oh right, it isn't. Well then, well get you the most beautiful owl in the entire nagical world."
"No, not only the magical but also the entire world in general." Alex says. Severus almost laughs at the the gleeful tone in both mother and son's voice.
"We'll also get Sev the prettiest school supplies in the world." Elysia adds. Carlain nods. "Of course. Only the best for our little cousin."
Severus lightly blushed at the care. He's still not used to it. But as he looked around the table and saw everyone's smiling faces, he thought only one thing.
Everything truly was great in his life currently.
