Chapter Text
“Ah, so you met Lady Cifera.” The regal sound of Aglaea’s voice echoed through the bath halls where she and Cyrene rested in the various warm pools of water, the feeling of the warmth almost made Cyrene forget she once came from ice.
“Of course, though I had to track her down, she wasn’t easy to find!” the pink maiden giggled, Aglaea just shaking her head and taking a sip of her honey brew.
“I’m afraid she’s always been like that ever since she was a child.” Aglaea let out a soft chuckle as she leaned back in the water, using her golden threads to feel Cyrene shift in the water.
“I suppose I have to look for her whenever I want to see her?” Cyrene asked, already knowing the goldweaver’s response before she would even say it.
“Well of course! That girl is always running around, it’s been centuries since she’s stepped foot in Okhema!” Aglaea chuckles, a rare shine that remained of her humanity sparkling through as she sighed, leaning back.
“I still remember when she was just a little stray kitten that would come up to my shop to sell trinkets she stole, of course I returned many of the items to their owners but she was such a cute child, I wish she stuck around more for us to catch up” the gold weaver sighed, Cyrene just listening to the words she’s heard countless times.
“Do you know where I could find her more often? I’d… like to get to know her.” The pink maiden looked away bashfully, the gold weaver chuckling softly as she leaned back in the water, looking up to gaze at the ceiling’s paintings of the titans.
“Well, while I may not know where she will pop up next, I have a few ideas. Cifera walks around the edge of Okhema during the sleeping hours, perhaps you can catch her before she slips away again.” Aglaea nodded, Cyrene nodding as if she hadn't already heard the advice before.
Like she hasn’t heard all of this before…
“Thank you Lady Aglaea! I’ll go look for her!” Cyrene beamed, moving to grasp the blind woman's hands, who just laughed and nodded.
“I wish you the best of luck Lady Cyrene.” Aglaea hummed as she felt through the golden threads she controlled, using her powers as a demi god to watch Cyrene rise out of the water, quickly trying herself off and quickly leaving the bath house.
“Aw I just missed her!” The cheery voice of Hyacine filled the Hero’s bathing quarters as she and Little Ica entered, the small pegasus floating into the water before the other pink haired girl sat in the pool.
“I’m afraid so, Lady Hyacinthia.” Aglaea light chuckled as the smaller woman huffed, leaning back in the pool of warm water.
“I can never catch Cyrie when she’s settled in somewhere! Always when she’s leaving!” she sighed, looking up at the hand painted ceiling of the building.
“Well I’m sure you will be able to speak to her the next time you cross paths.” Aglaea smiled, using the golden threads to watch Cyrene skip away.
“There we go, plan interception is clear!” Cyrene giggled to herself as she sat down on one of the many walls that surrounded Okhema, simply looking down at the emerald necklace she had created with her power of remembrance.
“Not bad for my first time making something out of memory!” she giggled, watching the green jewels sparkle in the evernight’s glow, the orange hue of Aquilla’s gaze dusting it’s gold setting.
Cyrene sat there for just a short while, until the sound of the coin of whimsy wisped by her, her gaze looking up just to see the cat demi god once again, just like days prior.
“Oh my, you’ve found me again! That's rare” Cipher purred out, leaning to slightly close the distance between her and the pink haired maiden, who smiled and looked up, lightly letting their noses touch and watched as the fur on Cipher’s tail slightly stood up from the action.
“Of course! My heist isn’t done just yet.” she hummed, watching as the cat demi god’s eyes slowly lingered onto the emerald jewelry that rested beside Cyrene, her clawed hands twitching as she stared at it.
“Mine isn’t either it looks like.” Cipher grinned, but just before her quick hand could swipe the necklace Cyrene gently slid her hand to intercept the cat’s, gingerly interlocking their fingers.
“Ah wait just a moment Cipher, How about a little deal?” She smiled in a sing-song tone, watching as Cipher’s eyes slightly widened but returned to their smooth cunning nature.
“Oh? And what would that be?” Cipher lightly tilted her head, watching as Cyrene slowly stood up and shifted how she stood, holding the two of them together as if they would begin to waltz.
“I want to see you more often, I want your heart to be mine, so how about we meet like this more often?” the pink elf smiled, Cipher taking it in stride as she moved to lightly brush her clawed hand through the emanator’s long hair.
“And what's in it for me? I’m afraid I don’t come cheap, my dear pink lady.” the cat demi god smiled, watching as Cyrene feigned thinking about it.
“Hmmm, how about I bring a little trinket for your collection? As a little incentive of course.” Cyrene smiled, watching as Cipher’s eyes lit up, moving to dip the pink maiden, tail flicking with delight.
“Consider it a deal! You sure know a way to this poor cat’s heart!” Cipher purred, Cyrene giggling as she lightly tilted her head so her hair could cascade away from Cipher’s hold, the familiar feeling of her precious god of trickery’s hands on her once more, how many years had it been that they were joined together like this? 300-400 years? Cyrene didn’t feel like counting anymore.
They were together once more, and that's all that mattered to the emanator.
All that mattered to her was that Cipher was back in her arms, that she could steal the wind of Dolo’s heart once more, before the cycle took her again.
Or until she finally becomes “real” leaving her alone.
