Chapter Text
As the shade walked up to the man she noticed something. He seemed to be giving off faint traces of divine energy similar to the power the she would feel from a vision. The most odd part however, was that she did not recognize the energy as elemental energy. Still she had questions and needed answers and if the strange energy around him showed anything it was that he likely at least had some tires to some kind of higher power. If I’m lucky he might be able to lead me to this regions archon if I’m still in teyvat the shade thought to herself.
She glanced at the man’s eyes and was taken aback. Eyes always held special meaning on teyvat most powerful beings had eyes that reflected it such as her sisters each having golden or amber eyes thanks to their creator. This man’s eyes seemed normal at least they would to a mortal. She could see the energy deep in them. Hidden beneath the depths like a speck of gold on seemingly unremarkable piece of brown earth.
She also noticed something even more concerning. The energy he gave off was clearly suppressed originally she had estimated it to be like a vision but she could tell there was more than that. While she was busy thinking the man opened his mouth and spoke.
“What are you doing here goddess” his voice was steady and calm. Asmoday however, knew better than that she could feel the primal power and authority behind it she now knew for certain that she was not dealing with an ordinary mortal.
Asmoday decided to fully drop her disguise knowing that she needed to be fully alert around this man. Her hair flowed back up her clothes shifted from the cloak back to normal her amber eyes glowing faintly as she looked over at the man in front of her. She raised a single hand bending the space around him. She was doing so as a test to see if he was as powerful as she believed him to be.
The man raised a single hand uttering a single word “stop”. As he said this space returned to normal seemingly responding to his will. “Now then I am not one to fight I simply wish to know why you are on this planet. I am willing to welcome you of course but I can tell you are not from this world not exactly.” The man’s expression was kind however she could tell he was in fact serious about his words.
The shade knew she couldn’t risk fighting a deity she did not know especially without support so she decided to tell him the truth. She explained her situation the cataclysm and the portal she opened to here. The man seemed to be listing closely the entire time. When she was finished she asked him who he was.
“Oh I am Yeshua(Jesus) though I doubt that name would mean anything to you. You can think of me kind of like your heavenly principles. The supreme original God of this planet after all I am the origin the alpha and the omega. Aah but I’m getting ahead of myself could you tell me the name of these heavenly principles.”
That name she did not recognize it but she could feel the power it held. She also considered his question she knew that even the shades should never truly give out their names and to give out the name of the heavenly principles would be risky. She knew however, if what this man said was true she could not fight him and he did seem to not want to fight her. She knew her best chance at making it forward would be to answer his question clearly. “Their name was Phanes.”
Yeshua did not seem surprised in the slightest he simply nodded at the name before speaking again “ah that makes sense it would appear you fall into the Greek pantheon then despite your otherworldly origin.”
Yeshua then explained to her the mythology and the role that her master played in it. By the end she was mildly shocked especially leaning about these other primordial beings however, she got what she needed information. She was also was able to get it from the central God of the world something she was rather pleased about. Still she was unsure what to do with the information she now had. “Well then how do I get back” she asked wanting to return to celestia as soon as possible.
“Hmm I’m not sure if you can however, I suppose going to Olympus would be a good start to it all. While you’re going there may I trouble you with bringing someone with you.” Asmoday noted that for the first time in the conversation the man’s tone had shifted to slightly more emotional. Perhaps it had to do with the person who she would be asked to bring with her.
“Well you have been helpful, very well Yeshua so long as you swear upon celestia’s throne that you will offer me your aid should I need it in the future. That is my condition for accepting your request.” Deep down Asmoday knew it was an unreasonable request and she knew that she likely would not need the aid she was a shade after all. She alone had been called the sustainer of heaven with a will that rivaled a descender. She was closest onto the heavenly principles however, she knew that in this world her power might not be as absolute. She was also still recovering from her encounter with that sinner.
Yeshua did not seem taken aback by her request. Her responded by saying “ consider it done after all it would be rude of me to simply not help someone so lost. I would have offered you my aid either way. Well I suppose you’ll want to know about who you’re going to be taking with you?”
Asmoday nodded she was very curious about who someone so powerful would lose composure over albeit only in their voice and only for a moment. However, for a god that certainly was a big deal especially for one who was as high up as the one she was currently talking to.
“He’s one of my lambs. I suppose the most accurate comparison I can make that you would understand is the relationship you have with that apprentice of yours Rex Lapis.”
Asmoday took that information in. This person must truly be special she thought to herself. “Well where can I find this person.”
“Ah well he should be in the cathedral that tall black building down the road. Oh and I should specify before going to Olympus I am asking you to stop by camp half blood where you will be dropping him off. It is a place for people born of divine and human blood.” Yeshua explained.
Asmoday was very surprised by the concept of a half blood. Although it was not unheard of for gods like the archons to have lovers and even people like the shade produced offspring they generally only did that with each other or with another long life. She found the whole idea of having a child with a mortal profoundly irresponsible. “How… irresponsible of them” she stated blankly.
“Well I do agree though I do advice against angering the Greeks to much after all you did just get here making enemies is hardly the wisest choice.” Yeshua stated. “Well with that over I should get back to work”.
Asmoday seemed mildly confused at this statement. “Why would someone like you need to work.” She asked genuinely perplexed. He was of a similar or even greater caliber than her she didn’t understand why he would feel the need to work in such a clearly mortal place.
“It’s simply a way I can subtly watch over and guide people. Well you should go and find my little lamb oh and here’s a map to camp half blood.” He said handing her an older looking piece of paper. The shade said her thanks and opened a portal to the cathedral finally starting off her true journey.
