Chapter Text
[June 5, 1967; Hurricane, Utah, Murray's Costume Manor]
“We could always add a bowtie, I mean…” Edwin says, putting a finger on the blueprint as he pointed to the chest of some new, fuzzy animal thinga-ma-bob they were designing. Fiona scoffs, rolling her eyes and playful swatting his hand away with a pencil.
“Why? He already has enough ‘accessories’, I think it’s fine-”
“But it just looks so… boring, I mean,” Edwin huffs stubbornly, rolling his eyes, “I think we should add-”
Fiona cuts him off, “Are you the one with a Fine Arts Degree, Ed?” she says with a sharp smirk, her eyebrow cocked up as she slides the papers away from him with one hand while the other one rests on her hip.
Edwin… couldn’t come up with a retort to that, so he just resorted to gawking at her like a fish out of water. He opened his mouth, closed it, and repeated that a few times before straightening up with a stubborn exhale.
“Fine, if you insist…”
“Thank you-” Fiona grinned smugly, leaning over the desk to scribble something down on the paper, biting the end of her pencil in thought. Edwin glances over the shoulder from behind. Fiona sighs, before quipping over her shoulder-
“We could always add glasses…”
You could almost hear the smirk in her words. She turned to face Edwin slightly, glancing over her shoulder back at him with a grin. He simply returned it with a small chuckle as he leaned closer.
“Deal.”
