Chapter 1: Blah Blah Blah

Chapter Text

A few years ago, “Lucky” would’ve laughed if you would’ve told him that he’d be a contestant for Frankie’s Parkour Palace. He would’ve brushed you off and rolled his eyes. Now? Now things are different. He lived through the killer parkour park. He lived and won. Honestly, Lucky knew how fucked up the game show was and yet he was always intrigued by it. It’s why he obtained 769 boxes of Frankie’s weird tasting cereal. He wanted to play. Lucky didn’t care that he was gambling with his life, it never really mattered anyway. He never had anything going for him. He made sure of that. Lucky made sure of that. At least that’s what a part of him thought.

Lucky wouldn’t ever admit this, but he liked the thrill of the game. He liked the challenges and the endless chase between him and Monster Frankie. Maybe that’s why he never let himself get caught or maybe a part of him did want to live. He was so close to getting his 5 million dollars, but… then Frankie started talking to him, reaching his lanky arm out to him, as if making a deal.

A part of him didn’t want to leave. A sick, twisted part of him wanted to stay and stay he did. Lucky didn’t leave and he signed a contract. The Real Frankie set up a new apartment for him and had him fill out paperwork to become an employee. It was… Everything seemed so surreal to the lucky contestant. Everything seemed to be getting better in a twisted and fucked up way. Things should stay as smooth as they can, just as long they don’t find out the truth. Lucky will make sure that they never know.

His new apartment wasn’t too far from his new line of work, which was nice. The man didn’t really want to drive far anyways. What Lucky first noted when he first entered his new apartment was that it was already furnished with new furniture. He also noted that his belongings from his old apartment were set in his bedroom, which was creepy, but oddly comforting. His new apartment was so much bigger than his old one. His new living room was the size of his old apartment. Overall, he kinda upgraded in life. All because he was the first to survive and because Frankie liked him.

Stretching as he stands in front of the Parkour Palace, Lucky groans when his back pops. He quietly enters the building and makes his way to the CCTV office. He figures The Other will already be there.

Lucky didn’t know what to think of Frankie. The mascot seemed okay? Frankie did set him up with an apartment and even wrote down in the contract that Monster Frankie wouldn’t try to kill him during the next season. The rabbit even set him up with a job here. Even though Lucky was sure that the rabbit only did it so Lucky would stay, he couldn’t help but feel gratitude for the mascot. I mean, he didn’t chase him and try to rip his head off during the contest, but he is the ring leader… His monster counterpart on the other hand… Lucky shuddered.

Then there was Cartoon Frankie, or otherwise known as ‘Toon. ‘Toon wasn’t horrible and on the brightside, he couldn’t physically hurt Lucky. The cartoonish rabbit wasn’t like Frankie or Monster. The Contestant found that he could read him better than the others. ‘Toon expressed himself better, in a way. The rabbit could be sweet sometimes, but was kinda quick to anger if you pushed his buttons. Out of The Other, Monster, or ‘Toon, ‘Toon was honestly the easiest to talk to.

The lucky contestant shakes his head as he stands in front of the CCTV room, Frankie’s unofficial office. The grey rabbit turns his head, his mouth formed into a large grin and a burnt out cigarette between his teeth. Lucky has always wondered how in the hell a fucking animatronic could smoke. He knows ‘Toon can, but that’s because he’s a cartoon. In the end, he decides it’s best to not ask.

“Lucky Contestant!” The Other put his pen down. He must’ve been working on some paperwork.

“Frankie.” The man muttered in response.

“You’re here right on time!” Frankie says.

“Yay me.” Lucky snorts, glancing around the office.

Frankie pops the cigarette butt out of his mouth as he starts talking to Lucky about the next season. Lucky tries his best to pay attention, but he wonders if there will be new challenges for him since he made it through the last ones quite easily. A random question pops into his head and he squints his eyes in thought. He hums softly, cutting off the animatronic rabbit.

“Who’s going to replace Henry?” Lucky looks up at the tall rabbit.

“Why would we replace him?” The Other asks.

Lucky cocks an eyebrow. “Because his head exploded? Wouldn’t you guys need a new mascot?”

Frankie chuckles before speaking, “Henry will be coming back. We don’t need a new mascot.”

The contestant hums thoughtfully. Would it be a different Henry or did they somehow upload Henry Hotline’s memory right before he ‘died’? I guess he’d figure out when Henry came back. Honestly, he didn’t know how he felt about Henry. Don’t get him wrong, he was eternally grateful that Henry returned Deputy Duck to him, but he didn’t know much about the guy except he really hates phones. Which is really ironic since he has a phone as a head.

As if the rabbit could read his head, he pats his money maker’s head. “Don’t worry your little masked head about him. He’ll be the same good ‘ol’ Henry.”

Lucky ducks from the rabbit's large hand. “Okay, good… I guess?”

Frankie chuckles and retracts his hand. “We’ll talk more later. Now go practice. We don’t need you to get rusty, now do we?”

The Lucky Contestant rolls his eyes, just a little playfully. “Alright. Yell at me if you need me.”

The Other says nothing more, just nodding and turning back to his unfinished paperwork. The rabbit watches Lucky leave from the corner of his eye, his smile slightly dropping. Every so often, Frankie glances up at the monitors, watching his Lucky Contestant practicing.

The animatronic sighs in boredom, tapping the pen against his pile of paperwork. He leans back, tilting his head to stare up at the ceiling. Frankie was getting tired of all of this paperwork, but unfortunately, it needs to be done. Since it doesn’t seem like the CEO will do it.

The Other scoffs and stares back down at the daunting paperwork. Without looking up, his arm slinks upwards towards a drawer. He opens it, pulling out a cigarette and a lighter. He hums quietly as he sets the cigarette between his teeth and lights it.

Worrying the cigarette between his lips, Frankie turns and focuses on working on the paperwork once more A while later Frankie looks up at the monitor, humming as he sees a new email popping up.
