Chapter Text
> November 27, 2007
Vee was hosting her gameshow in that moment, though it had just started. While she was on stage, she now sat on a crate, because she couldn’t walk a lot around the stage with how tired she was all the time and because she was literally 7 months pregnant; so the crate helped her a lot with performing.
Vee: “Alright, question 8, what is-“ She froze for a split second, feeling the now familiar fluttering in her stomach. Slightly annoyed -since she didn’t want this to happen now-, she moved a hand around where she felt the movement and continued talking.
Vee: “Ahem…question 8, what-“ she groaned out of frustration; this dang little one wouldn’t stop kicking! The small amount of toons watching was pretty confused, and so were the contestants.
Vee: “Sorry, it just seems like someone REALLY wants attention too.” She said in a sarcastic tone. The toons realized what had happened then, giggling a bit.
She got an idea. She put her mic close to her bump, keeping a small distance from it.
Vee: “You got something you wanna share with the audience?”
A small pause, then a tiny, subtle thud echoed through the mic. Some awes could be heard in the room after that. She continued talking.
“Anything else you wanna share or are you going to steal the spotlight?”
Nothing.
“Thought so. Anyways, back to the question!”
The gameshow continued perfectly after that.
Vee walked out of the elevator, going to the mains’ floor’s hallway.
Vee: “Hah, another successful gameshow hosting.” She kept walking, tired, getting to her room to rest a bit while working on writing gameshow questions. But as soon as she walked in to her room, she got greeted with…a cardboard box? (Specifically from IKEA.)
She was confused a lot from the sight. She noticed there was also a small letter on the box, so she took it in her hand, reading and analyzing it. The letter was written by Dyle.
Greetings, Vee.
This might be all of a sudden, but I have brought something for you from my last train run. A crib, to be precise.
I brought this for you since I thought you would have needed this for your child.
You can thank me when you see me again, as I am off to another train run soon.
-Dyle.
She put the letter on her desk, moving it aside. She suddenly got a bit of an urge to build it now, getting a spurt of energy. She wanted to to this, mainly for the baby. She opened the box, taking out the instructions and the different pieces. But she realized this might have been slightly more complicated than she thought, since she couldn’t move around much and couldn’t get help from Astro, since he was at book club. Just then, Vee noticed Shelly in the hallway, so she called her from out of the room. She quickly got into the room.
Shelly: “Do you need something, Vee?”
Vee: “Uhh…yeah, can you help me build this crib? Dyle brought it for me..”
Shelly: “Oh, ok!…but only if we can talk about triceratops later.”
Vee: “But I alread- pft, alright…”
It had been about an hour since they had started to build the crib, but…they kept failing!
Vee: “Ughhh, why is this not working!”
Shelly: “It’s ok, let’s just try aga-“
Vee: “NO! it’s the third time we try, dammit!”
There was a knock on door, then the door opened. It was Brightney.
Brightney: “Hey Vee, book club ended and I came to-…what happened here?”
Shelly: “We’re building a crib!”
Vee: “Trying is the right term, because we CAN’T build it!”
The lamp toon stared at the two other girls, then went through the box, finding an extra piece.
Brightney: “seems like this was the problem. You forgot a piece.”
The two toons just stared at her, and Vee was so mad she took the instructions, ripped them in two, and kept swearing to the most random things ever.
Just then, Astro walked in to the whole situation.
Astro: “love I’m b-“ as soon as they walked in, Brightney and Shelly signaled him to NOT come in because this wasn’t the right moment, so he just left to go to their room.
