Chapter Text

Dark Cacao was crying. Wet tears streaming down his face and dripping onto a photo. He made no noise, only the sound of them hitting paper. The photo was of him, holding his son Dark Choco when he was just a freshly baked doughy baby. Where did he go wrong? To have his precious son be so far away, out of his reach. He regrets so much, if he could. He would of done so many things differently. Would've held him tighter, let him eat those sweets. Gave him more love..

Dark Choco shouldn't ever be banished. But for now, he can only realistically hope his son comes back one day. His baby boy who used to hold a sword with small hands and smile at him with shining red eyes. Eyes that he no longer has as Dark Cacao slashed out his right eye that day. Another regret to pile onto with the others. Because what father hurts his own son. What father slashes out their own son's eye. He has so much to apologize for if his son ever returns. If, oh so heavy If. Because there's a chance his son won't ever return. Won't come back, and Dark Cacao will have these regrets for long after his son dies.

Another Tear hits the photo, before he finally puts it back in the photo-album, all full of pictures of Dark Choco. He never told him or anyone except his fellow ancients that he had a photo album of Dark Choco. But he supposes soon he will be getting gifts and a photo album of another baby soon. He sighs, turning his thoughts to the Semi-Positive. Pure Vanillas pregnancy. While yes, it was with a torturous beast. Pure Vanilla had looked so worried and scared when telling them, so it was quite hard to be mad. Currently, if he was correct Pure Vanilla was at the Golden Cheese kingdom, being pampered as a pregnant cookie should be.

Sighing, he muses about his thoughts. Everyone seemed happy about the baby. Him, included. He can't deny how much he misses being able to visit one of his friends and see a bundle of pure joy in their arms. Maybe it's just the fact it reminds him of Dark Choco that new tears stream down his face. He lets them, even a king needs to cry occasionally. And his son is one of the only cookies deserving of his tears. He can't just stand around crying for hours like he wants to though. He has a kingdom to run.

Walking into his bathroom. He picks up a hairbrush, he brushes through his long hair. half of it now a shimmering white from when he awakened. He doesn't wear his awakened outfit constantly but if the situation calls for it, a snap of magic and he's in the outfit. A few marks from age are also gone. He still looks like someone who lived for a long time, but some of the marks are gone. Hopefully that'll stop Hollyberry from telling him he's an old man. The brush continues to ease through the knots in his hair.

Afterwards he places the brush down. And stares at himself in the mirror. A few tear lines mark his face, and his eyes are a bit red and puffy. Grumbling, he grabs a towel and wets it at the edges, using it to wipe away any tears or tear-lines. Then he places the cold towel on his eyes for a few minutes, so the puffiness dies down. He puts the towel away. There, now he looks more like a king. Next he grabs some lotion, applying it to his skin and letting it soak in. So he looks fresh, he'll take a shower before he goes to bed.

Taking a few deep breaths, he walks out of the bathroom. Fixing his clothes as he does, before reaching the door to his room and opening it. Stepping out into the hallway. He thinks about what work he has to do today. Paperwork from the blizzard last night, a few missing people that he'll send out search parties for. And a meeting in the afternoon. Reaching his office, working on his paperwork till afternoon sounds good. Then he'll eat lunch and head to the meeting. Afterwards he'll send out another search party, when there's still daylight in the sky.

Opening the doors, he steps inside. closing them with his foot and walking further into the room. A desk in the back of the room with a massive stack of paper on it, four massive windows behind him showing the training grounds below. A sofa and a few bookshelves. One of them is actually full of books. The others are full of letters or important documents. Not too important though, those go hidden in a magic locked safe. Sitting down in his desk chair. He pulls out the first Paper. A lot of them are basic requests from villages. More guards to assist them, requests to be hired, and even requests to expand their villages.

He skims through most of them, making sure to read the fine-print so he doesn't sign something dangerous. He sighs as the stack of paper is slowly depleting. He wishes it would be gone already. He quite wants to go eat lunch, as four hours have flown by. He thinks, should he stop here and eat? Looking at the papers. Only a few are left, so he finishes them within 45 minutes. Groaning as he stands, back popping. He'll get some lunch, then head to the meeting room. Walking out of his office, shutting and locking the door behind him he heads towards the dining hall.

Opening the large doors, he's greeted by his plate already on the dining table. He silently thanks the maid who did it in his mind, as he sits down. Eating quickly so he ain't late for his meeting. But as he eats he remembers a time. A time when he would have someone sitting across from him, telling him about his day and how training was. A small prince spilling his heart out to a king. A king who just nodded and never responded. Dark Cacao shakes his head. Now is not the time.

Finishing his food and getting up, he walks down the halls. Now it's time for the meeting, then he'll send out the search parties. The blizzard should've died down enough and now that its afternoon its the warmest it'll be all day. He grumbles as he enters the giant hall. A large table in the middle with chairs surrounding it. Maps lay on the walls and on the table, almost everyone but him had arrived. Taking a seat at the head of the table, the meeting starts. It's nothing too important, just some talk about a trade route being blocked. Just barely important enough to call for his attention.

By the end of the meeting, Dark Cacao decreed the trade route to be modified and renewed the contract with the small kingdom the trade route was for. Now for the last thing of his day. He sees Caramel Arrow. "First Watcher." He calls gruffly. She turns her head. "Your majesty!" She bows her head slightly. "I want you to set out a search party. See if anyone is missing in the forests after the Blizzard." His First Watcher nods. "Will do your majesty." He dismisses her with a wave of his hand. She walks off to go do his orders.

Now he has nothing else to do. So he begins to walk back to his quarters. He'll take a shower he supposes. Entering his bedroom, he immediately moves towards the bathroom. Take a shower, and find something to do for the next hour and a half till night. He'll use his 15 in 1 body wash, and shampoo like always.

<~___________________________________~>

Dark Choco grumbled. Fires were harder to start when the wood was wet. Damn snow. But he just sighs, finally getting a few sparks and fwoosh! fire. At least now he hopefully shouldn't freeze to death. Well he shouldn't, he was raised and born here in the snowy tundra of the Dark Cacao kingdom. Still his thoughts drift, to his father specifically. He misses his father, misses him gravely. But his father hates him doesn't he? Its why he's exiled, in fact he shouldn't even be in the Dark Cacao kingdom right now. But he kind of got stuck. He stayed till the pale aliment was completely gone, Than right as he was about to leave. He just had to take a different route and get hurt. So he had limped back to his camp, to where he will be staying for maybe two weeks at best rationing his food till he's healed enough to leave again.

Grumbling he looks up, staring at the stars. He'll be killed for certain if anyone notices he's still in the kingdom. He misses his father.
