Chapter Text
Gao Lele was assigned to a dorm room shared with two other guys. The room itself can house up to six students; but it seemed that the scholarships were cut by half, and thus instead of six, they only have three students. Lele met them all on the first day of the induction period, and their names are Wu Suowei and Jiang Xiaoshuai. They will be sharing the dorm together for the next three years at least, so Lele knew to foster a good relationship with them.
Gao Lele found his roommate to be a one in a billion type of crazy. Without being asked, the crazy boy introduced himself and talked endlessly. His real name was Wu Qi Qiong, but he changed it into Wu Suowei after his ex-girlfriend in high school mentioned how the name has ‘Qiong’ (poor man) in it. Lele wondered, was it that easy to change names? But Wu Suowei said he just changed his name on the school register, so his student card was printed with the name Wu Suowei (which is a similar sounding name with “whatever”). It seemed Suowei was the type of student who had a high IQ with questionable EQ for normal society. At first Lele just accepted whatever Suowei said with face value; but within a day he realised the boy was a compulsive liar. Not bad lies; but just simple lies in general. He also majors in genetic engineering, which surprised Lele for a bit.
He also said he is an Alpha. Lele just raised his brow because he sensed no pheromones around the boy. Suowei deflated and admitted he was a beta. He hated being a beta because that was why his ex dumped him; so he now wanted to live as an Alpha. Lele shrugged and told him, ‘you do you’ as long as he doesn’t disturb his plan to catch Hua Sheng.
On the other side of the spectrum, Jiang Xiaoshuai was a ‘shuai’ (handsome) omega boy with thick glasses and adorable huge eyes. He majored in medicine and planned to be a doctor. It was strange, because that university doesn't have a good medicine course; but apparently Xiaoshuai followed his older boyfriend into this university. In fact, he was eligible for many other better medicine scholarships, but he declined all of them to chase his boyfriend. He is also an omega but due to some family defect, he hadn’t got his heat since he presented, so he was practically a beta.
They both seemed like good guys, so Lele returned their introduction with his own. He shared with them basic information about himself and it seemed they could get along well.
They actually get along too well, in fact.
Since they are all bound under the same scholarship program, they spent the first week together everyday, following the induction course for scholarship students. They bonded really fast, ending up close buddies and adopting each other’s habits. Suowei introduced them to mobile gaming, while Xiaoshuai actually has the most perverted mind and information amongst them. Lele acted as their guardian, since he was the only alpha. They liked to touch his biceps, squeezing them like a stressball.
Within the next week, they have no boundaries. Suowei admitted he chose this university to gain his girlfriend back, but apparently his girlfriend already moved on to some popular Alpha jerk named Chi Cheng. When he showed them the video of Chi Cheng in douyin, Lele noticed that Hua Sheng was actually inside the video as well. He found out that Chi Cheng is actually Hua Sheng’s close friend alongside another Alpha named Guo Chengyu. Xiaoshuai nonchalantly commented that the last Alpha in the group (Chengyu) was hot as fuck, although not as hot as his boyfriend.
Lele then decided to come clean with them. He shared his story, his Papa’s suffering and his plan to get Hua Sheng for revenge. Suowei and Xiaoshuai–far from being ethical and supposedly persuaded Lele to be on the right path–decided it was a great idea and agreed to support him. Suowei mentioned they could collaborate with each other: Suowei will target ChiCheng, Lele will target Hua Sheng and Xiaoshuai can distract Chengyu.
They became more animated by the seconds, until Xiaoshuai asked them, “do you two have plans to gain their attention?”
Both Lele and Suowei stopped cheering and looked at each other.
“Actually, I don't have a plan beyond entering the same university and same course,” Lele sheepishly.
“Me too. I only know I will have my revenge on Yue Yue.” Suowei grimaced.
“Oh boy. Both of you are idiots.” Xiaoshuai sighed as if he was the wisest amongst them. Which might be true, in a sense. “We need to start a honey pot mission then. You two need so much preparation, as we need to amp up our seduction! These jerks are popular, they have seen more beauties. So we need to get their attention another way.”
“How?” both Suowei and Lele asked in tandem, 100% attention to Xiaoshuai.
“We need more research. Let’s plan the project properly. We will need to observe them and see what they like, then ambush them with the proper bait! And since there are two of you, we need to have two plans accordingly. This requires more planning. Let’s use our brain and start planning, boys!”
The impromptu master of seduction and his two foolish students began their planning sessions.
Chi Cheng put down his cigarettes and jammed them onto the metal bench. Hua Sheng lazily scrolled through his social media, while Chengyu played mobile games in his hands. They were seated in the university cafeteria. The crowd avoided them, making a bubble around the three boys. It was the first month of university and they were already bored.
“I thought your old man took your social media privileges?” Chi Cheng smirked.
Hua Sheng shrugged. “I just made another one. He wouldn’t know my other twenty burner accounts.”
“Hey, if you guys have time to talk, log in and help me gain rank! I am being decimated here, my team are all stupids…ARGH!” Chengyu groaned as his avatar died for the third time, ending his session.
“Just pay it out, you are wasting too much effort on that silly game.” Chi Cheng shrugged.
“I am gritting this through my own effort, unlike you.” Chengyu pouted. “Taking the easy way out just took out the fun.”
“Your loss.” Chi Cheng huffed. “You just like the chase, don’t you?”
“By the way, what should we do with them?” Hua Sheng cut off their conversation as he turned off his phone. “They are starting to get annoying.”
The three of them understood whom Hua Sheng was referring to.
Throughout the month, there were these three stooges who followed them discreetly-but-not. They hid behind pillars and walls as they spied on them. They have been doing that since the start of the semester. And right now, they were huddled on a bench two meters away, watching the three popular boys like they owed their rent.
“They are scholarship students. I think their names are Wu Suowei, a beta; Gao Lele, an A or B-class Alpha; and Xiaoshuai, an omega. I think the omega is cute though.” Chengyu smirked. “Dips on him.”
“Hmm. I think I saw that beta somewhere before.” Chi Cheng wondered. “He seemed familiar.”
“I’ll take the Alpha then.” Hua Sheng smiled broadly. “He is just my type. More brawn than brain. Whoever gets to their target first will get 10K.”
“Deals.” The other two answered and thus, the game started.
