Chapter Text
Tommy was asleep, and Tango had managed to get his son onto the back of the mother, Gem.
"He's... he's light..." Tango muttered, taking in the boy's frame. He was underweight, but the look of things.
"Uh, Doc," Tango called out, getting the creeper's attention,
"When Tommy wakes up, can we get him a check-up?" The creeper nodded, and the blaze thanked him. The blaze knew there were going to be alot of questions, so he just spoke.
"I know there are questions, I'll answer the ones I think most people are thinking. Yes, Tommy is Gem's biological son, and we had him after getting tipsy and having a one-night stand. The boy is half blaze and half deer. We were unaware of his whereabouts, as I took him to the nether when he was very young, and when I came back for him, he was gone." Tango answered,
"Are you able to see his code? To see information on the server he was on?" Zed asked, Tango thought for a moment, but didn't answer, as it was Grian who did.
"No, I'm trying to scrape through the player code, but anything about the server, it's locked or corrupted, and the server information... "It's admin corrupted...which..." the avian looked up from the code panel. "It's illegal..." the server gasped.
"For a server to have hidden or corrupted information, it isn't allowed, unless specific permissions are given. Like the life series, the three life system, along with I guess...messing with people's codes for some of the mechanics, I need perms for that, as well as I need to do tests of it to make sure it's reversible. The corruption here, it's....it looks to be very deliberate that it can't be undone..." Grain murmured.
"I can't even get it undone..." Xisuma sighed.
"We can ask Tommy, when he wakes up, no?" Cub asked, the hermits thought for a moment,
"Well, based on how he acted...I don't think that's the best idea..." Gem muttered, remembering the outburst, and how Tommy said he was a child soldier at war...her poor baby.
"We need to quarantine and focus on the corrupted code..." Grian mentioned, eyes shifting from brown to purple.
"I can destroy the corruption, head-on, but...Tommy could be at risk of...not death..., but he may have a full reset..." Grian tried to explain,
"Is there anything else?" Gem asked, not knowing what the reset fully intended,
"Well...I can temporarily block off a leakage...but it's only temporary, so I don't know if it'll be enough time to decode the corruption."
"Please...block the leakage and see what can be done. I don't want Tommy to suffer any more..." Gem pleaded. It broke Grian, but he nodded. He would do as the mother wished.
Tommy woke up... he thinks, but he wasn't with his parents... Was what happened just a dream?
"Starshine," a voice echoed. Then, Tommy looked around and saw a figure he recognised.
"XD!" the boy yelled, his arms up, reaching for the God. God picked the boy up gently, as if he were a fragile piece of china.
"Where are we?" Tommy asked, XD hummed and settled the boy onto his hip.
"You're dreamscape, but...I want to show you the server..." Tommy shovered,
"Don't make me go back...I don't wanna go back, let me stay with my parents, please....please...." Tommy's begs broke the heart of God, XD stroked the boy's hair,
"You aren't going back, ever," XD promised, voice low and certain. He covered Tommy's eyes, sharing his sight with Tommy.
Tommy saw the server, the one he once called home. He saw Tubbo, he was in...in the prison? He was with Sam.
"Where the fuck is Tommy!?" Tubbo yelled at the creeper, holding a sword to his throat.
"I don't know!" Sam yelled, horror in place of what is normally his strong, stone-calm demeanour,
"I call bullshit! I know you have one life left! I will take it! Tell me where my best friend is...NOW!" Before anything else, Tommy's vision shifted; he now saw Purpled.
"Purp!" Tommy yelled happily. He liked Purpled; he always did. He watched the mercenary, who was in Tommy's dirt hut, packing up...belongings?
"Why is Purpled in my base?" Tommy asked, knowing there was little to nothing left in the chests, just a few stacks of fruit and meat for Shroud...Shroud was left on the server.
"He's taking all he can, as Purpled plans to leave, permanently," XD explained. "He knows about your disappearance, from Tubbo and Ranboo...He's leaving to find you," XD explained.
"He's coming to the server I'm on?" Tommy asked, hopefully.
"No." Tommy's face fell.
"I won't be letting him come or find you in Hermitcraft. You need to heal; he'll interfere with it." XD was concrete about his choice. Tommy looked like a sad puppy, but he knew God had his best interest at heart.
"Okay..."
With that, XD knew Tommy had had enough; he wasn't engaged in the slightest.
"It's time to sleep amongst the stars..." XD muttered, Tommy nodded,
"Night night...XD"
"Sleep well, Starshine."
