Daphne and Oz pull up to Lucia’s house and knock on the door.
Lucia opens the door.
“Oz. Daphne. It’s good to see you”
“Lucia. I wish we could say the same”, Oz says.
“What do you mean? Is something wrong? Is Adam ok?”
“Karadec is ok. Physically. Mentally and emotionally, oh heck no”, Daphne says.
“What’s wrong?”, Lucia asks.
“Where were you yesterday evening around 11?”, Oz asks.
“I was here. Sleeping.”
“Well, we have reason to believe that’s a lie. Can you come with us to the station?”, Daphne asks.
“Sure”.
They all go down to the station.
AT THE HOSPITAL
Karadec is still holding onto Morgan’s hand. His head is on her bed. He had fallen asleep.
Morgan starts to stir. She slowly opens her eyes and notices that someone or something is holding her hand. She looks over and sees Karadec’s hand holding hers. She smiles so big. She takes off the oxygen mask.
“Hey big guy”.
Karadec wakes up and has the biggest smile on his face.
“Morgan. Oh thank God. You scared me. I was the one that found you.”
“Found me? The last thing I remember is being at the station. That’s it”.
“Lucia did this to you. She injected something into your neck”.
Morgan starts crying.
“Are you ok?”, Karadec asks. “Are you hurting?”
“Lucia told me that if I didn’t back off from doing nice things for you, she’d make me. I guess this is what she meant”.
“She said that to you?”
Morgan shakes her head. Karadec’s face gets red with anger.
“Daphne and Oz picked her up. They are going to question her, but we have video footage. She won’t hurt you ever again.”
AT THE STATION
“Lucia, I’m going to ask again. Where were you last night around 11?”, Oz asks.
“I was at home sleeping”.
“Can anyone vouch for that?”, Daphne asks.
“Adam. He was with me”.
“Well, we know you’re lying. We have video footage of you here at the station. You hurt Morgan.”, Daphne says.
Oz turns the laptop around to show Lucia the footage.
Lucia gets angry.
“She took Adam away from me. She kept doing nice things for him. He’s mine. I told her that if she wouldn’t stop, I would make her”.
“Karadec, you hear all that?”, Oz says to Karadec over the phone.
“Yep. Lucia, we’re over. How dare you hurt Morgan. She never did anything to hurt you”, Karadec says.
“Lucia, you’re under arrest. Come with us”, Oz says while handcuffing Lucia.
BACK AT THE HOSPITAL
“We got her, Morgan. Lucia confessed. She won’t hurt you ever again”, Karadec says while sitting back down next to Morgan.
“I’m so sorry, Adam”.
“Why?”, Adam asks with a questionable look on his face.
“For everything. I know you love Lucia. I caused this to happen to me”.
Adam gets closer to Morgan.
“You have nothing to apologize for. It took me a while, but I realize now that Lucia and I were never going to work again. We did back then, but not anymore. You make me a better person, Morgan. You’ve made me see things about myself that I didn’t. Yes, we’ve been though hard things, like the room at Gabe’s and me being in the hospital after the explosion at EnCase. I wouldn’t trade anything for this. I love you, Morgan”.
“You what?”, Morgan says shockingly.
“I love you, Morgan. You are beautiful, smart, loving, and an amazing mother to Elliott, Chloe and Ava. I don’t know what I would do without you in my life”.
Karadec reaches for his keys and takes off a piece of a key ring.
“I know it’s not the real thing, but once we get you out of here, I’ll fix that. Anyway, will you marry me, Morgan Elizabeth Gillory?”, Adam says with tears in his eyes.
Morgan starts to cry.
“Yes. Of course I will”.
Karadec smiles the biggest he’s ever smiled. He places the key ring on her finger. He cups Morgan’s cheek.
Morgan leans forward and places her lips on Karadec’s. Karadec holds Morgan’s face in his hands and smiles through the kiss.
They release and look at each other.
“You’re my safe space, Adam”.
“You’re mine too.”
