Chapter Text
Third Person POV
It was pouring rain, and Finney was standing in front of Robin, sobbing. Robin's smile immediately faded when he saw Finney's expression. "Finn, what happened?" Robin also noticed that Finney had a pillow, blanket, and other things that one may need if they were staying over somewhere. He ran to Finney's side and helped him inside.
"Finn, come in. Talk to me. What happened?!" Finney was sobbing and barely managed to croak out his words. "My dad..he was still pissed about me staying over, and he kicked me out until Wednesday. I was hoping I could stay here." Robin's eyes softened as they met Finney's, and he felt his face heat up as they got lost in each other. "Um, holy shit, yeah, of course you can!" Finney was filled with relief. "Thank you."
"We can..go upstairs if you want?" Robin offered. Finney nodded. They went up the stairs and up to Robin's room. Finney looked at the bookcase he hit his head on last time he was here, and he saw dried blood on it. His eyes widened. Robin looked over at him and saw his eyes, wondering what was wrong, he looked where Finney was looking, the bookcase.
"Oh, um, I can clean that up if you want?" Finney nodded, taking a step back. "Hold on." Robin went and got a paper towel. He got it damp because the blood he was cleaning up was already dried. He walked back into his room and wiped up the blood.
"You wanna watch a movie?" Robin asked. "What movie?" Finney asked. "I was thinking, Texas Chainsaw Massacre?" He grabbed a VHS off his shelf and showed it to Finney. Finney's eyes widened as he tensed up. "Isn't that scary?" Robin chuckled. "Yeah, it's supposed to be. Come on, you'll like it!" He put the tape in and they sat next to each other on Robin's bed as the movie started.
Throughout the movie, Finney got jumpscared multiple times, he clung to Robin each time and wouldn't let go for minutes following. Robin enjoyed it. At one point during the movie, Robin looked over at Finney, it wasn't a intense bit of the movie, so he was watching with more intent than he would. Robin couldn't stop staring at him, god, he was beautiful.
"Finn.." he said. This was it, he was gonna tell him how he felt. They were inches apart from each other, it was so intimate. They could feel each other's breath on their skin. Finney went red, as he felt his face heating up. "Yeah-?" Finney said softly. "Nevermind." Robin couldn't build up the courage to do it yet.
Finney just looked at him, even after Robin had looked away. That feeling was so new. He really enjoyed it, but then it ended. It was over. It made him sad, then a jumpscare came on the movie and Finney yelped, clinging to Robin's arm. Again.
After the movie, Finney was pretty much traumatized. "What the fuck, Robin? That was terrifying!" He said loudly. Robin laughed. "It's not that bad, come on Finn!" Finney smiled. "It was!" Robin got up.
"You want something to eat?" Robin asked Finney. Finney thought about it for a minute. "Sure, why not?" Robin went downstairs and decided to order some food. "Chinese good?" Robin asked. Finney nodded.
Once the order arrived, they ate their food and got to talking. "Do you, um, have a favorite movie, Finn?" Finney thought for a second. "I don't really have a specific favorite, but I really like sci-fi." Robin nodded. "Ah, that's cool." Finney then got all excited. "You know, I really love space. I have a bunch of spaceship models and rocket ship models in my room and a bunch of NASA stuff, it's really cool." He smiled. Robin grinned at Finney's enthusiasm. "That's cool!"
After they ate, Robin took their dishes and washed them as they went back upstairs.

It was hours later, around 10pm at night, and they were both tired, sitting on the floor, next to each other. Robin had finally built up the courage to tell Finn how he really felt, it was scary, but he had to do it, or else he felt he would go crazy.
"Finn, can I tell you something?" Finney looked over at him, and his expression softened at Robin's serious tone. "Of course. What's up?" Robin sighed, and he was shaking, and their eyes lingered on each other for a bit too long.
"Well, I don't really know how else to say this, but just to say it. I like you, Finn, a lot. I really do. To the point, where, I want to spend every waking moment with you. I love your laugh, I love your smile, I love your obsessions, I love your little hyper fixations, I love your face, I love your hair, I love everything about you, Finn. I don't know how I let it happen, especially so fast, but I did. I love you, Finney." Robin sighed after getting it out.
Finney was speechless, his mouth hanging open. He just started at Robin in response, until he finally got something out. "..You're not telling the truth, right?" He tried to assure himself. Robin cupped Finney's cheek. "Finn, why would I be lying about this?" Finney's eyes widened. "Why do you look so..freaked out? You don't feel the same, do you?" Finney's face dropped.
"No, no! Wait. The reason I'm so freaked out is, I feel exactly the same, and it scares me." Robin didn't know how else to react besides, well, kiss him. He caught Finney's lips in a gentle and passionate kiss, and Robin's heart started pounding when he felt Finney started to kiss back.
It only went on for probably like 15 seconds, but for both of them, it felt like years. They had been wanting this for a while, and now that it was finally happening, they were both shocked.
Neither of them wanted it to end, they were both so happy in this fleeting moment of pure bliss. Eventually, they pulled away and were out of breath. Robin put his forehead on Finney's, and Finney's face went red. Finney grinned widely and let out a giggle. "I'm so happy, Finn. I love you so much."
Robin waited for a response from Finney, but there wasn't an immediate one. Finney just looked deep into Robin's eyes, breathing heavily, but finally, after what felt like ages, Finney responded.
"and I love you."
