Chapter Text
There had been something strange from the very beginning of Izuku’s sex life.
He didn’t understand why, but every time, he felt even dirtier from the hands that stained his body in a way he couldn’t explain—yet at the same time, he felt euphoric.
Every night before going to sleep, he would always find his neighbor staring at him from outside. Izuku always ended up sneaking out, and Haru would take him somewhere beautiful before they had sex.
What Izuku meant by “a beautiful place” to visit with Haru at night was always some kind of movie theater, park, lake, restaurant, or even supermarkets.
Even though supermarkets weren’t exactly considered a date, Izuku felt like everything was beautiful when he was with Haru.
They could visit a dumpster, and Izuku would still feel completely happy.
The problem was that weeks had passed full of excitement in their sexual life, but not in their romantic life, and now Izuku was confused because of it.
He considered asking his trustworthy father, but that would be an impossible mission when he remembered the hatred his father had toward homosexual people…
Homosexual!?
Great. Now he was even more confused about how he felt.
Maybe he should run into the arms of a reliable, incredible, loving, intelligent, maternal woman… Ochako!

—And that’s how I ended up talking to you about this…
Izuku made a suffering expression, and Ochako rolled her eyes.
“So you’ve been having sex with your neighbor? Damn, that’s naughty…” Ochako smiled teasingly.
“Ochako! Don’t say it so loud…” Izuku whispered, placing a finger over his lips. “But yeah…”
“I didn’t know you had that in you, Izuku. I thought you’d stay a virgin until you were thirty.” Ochako laughed, her face red from laughing so much.
Beside her, Izuku tried to calm her down by pushing her shoulder, until suddenly Haru walked past them, accompanied by a girl Izuku barely noticed. Haru winked at Izuku before continuing to walk away.
Izuku instantly turned completely red, his freckles practically jumping off his face at the sight of him. He stood up as fast as he could and went straight toward him with a silly smile on his face. They had already been like this for a week, and he was excited to talk to him, since they barely spoke after the intense nights they shared.
But the moment he tried to hug him, Haru shoved him away harshly.
Izuku stared at him in confusion until he heard laughter coming from beside him.
It was the neighbor’s daughter, Sarah. Even though she had been laughing with Haru minutes earlier, her expression twisted into disgust when she saw Izuku hugging him.
“What? Are you so desperate for a partner that you throw yourself at men like a whore, faggot?” Sarah spat while wrapping herself possessively around Haru’s arm.
“W-what? N-no, it’s not like that…” Izuku stammered.
He tried looking toward Haru for some kind of defense, but Haru only stared at him with deep disgust before walking away with Sarah.
Seeing the scene, Ochako quickly rushed over and pulled Izuku away.
“They’re idiots! How dare they…”

“Hey,” Izuku said between kisses that same night, clinging to Haru’s shoulders.
Well, even though this place had always been his safe place, tonight he had come here to think a little about what had happened earlier.
Maybe part of him hoped Haru would show up.
Or maybe not.
But he had simply felt so rejected and pushed aside by him that morning.
“What now?” Haru growled irritably, pulling away from Izuku’s lips only after biting his lower lip.
“Why did you do that this morning?” Izuku climbed onto Haru’s lap, his thick thighs wrapping around him. “You pushed me away because of that girl.”
Haru looked thoughtful for a moment, trying to remember what he meant, until realization hit him and his eyebrows lifted into a mischievous grin.
“What, are you jealous?” Haru exclaimed, running his hands over the soft flesh of Izuku’s ass.
Izuku blushed. “N-no, it’s not that…”
“Relax, Izuku. She means nothing to me. Besides…” Haru paused, looking Izuku up and down. “You wouldn’t want the town finding out you’re gay, right? You know what your father thinks about people like us, sweetheart.”
Izuku knew Haru was right, but it still hurt when Haru shoved him away so roughly that morning, as if he was ashamed to be seen with him.
Maybe Izuku could be a little ridiculous in public around his friends, but that was only because he got excited talking to people—especially his friends. And even with strangers, Izuku had learned to trust others easily, which was why the town considered him an angel.
“Jesus, stop mumbling,” Haru suddenly interrupted his thoughts.
“Sorry.”
“Whatever. I don’t think I can even get hard now, you overthinking dumbass,” Haru muttered under his breath.
That hurt.
“Well, whatever. Wanna go somewhere?”
“Where?” The freckled boy felt like he had ruined the intimacy where he felt loved, but… he could go anywhere with the boy he liked, and it would still be fun. It was only 1 AM. They still had five hours before school.
“There’s a nice place around here that you’ll love!” Haru said, his eyes shining with excitement.

“Haru… WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING AT AN ABANDONED SUPERMARKET OUTSIDE TOWN?” Izuku yelled, staring at the overgrown weeds surrounding the store, its hanging letters barely attached to the building.
Novaarket.
The missing “M” from “NovaMarket” was lying on the ground.
“Well, Izuku, you know your safe place is that abandoned cabin near the lake? Mine used to be here before I moved away…”
“Oh… I’m sor—”
Before Izuku could finish, Haru grabbed him and dragged him inside while running.
As they rushed through the entrance, Izuku remembered the whole ride there.
Haru had stolen his parents’ car in the middle of the night while they blasted Footloose and screamed the lyrics at the top of their lungs. Izuku’s throat hurt from yelling so much, so he grabbed a bottle of water to soothe it.
Haru laughed a lot.
Actually, he hadn’t made a single sexual comment during the entire drive, and every time Izuku looked at him, butterflies filled his stomach.
It felt like they were falling in love with each other, like Haru was the Earth and Izuku was the moon forever orbiting around him.
When they entered, Izuku noticed the place wasn’t nearly as destroyed as he expected. There was even food, and he wondered if it had expired or not. Deeper inside, he spotted a small dinosaur blanket and some pillows.
“W-what’s that?”
“Midoriya, grab whatever food you want from the shelves near the base. It’s all still good. I’m gonna grab some stuff from the car!”
And that’s exactly what happened.
Laughing, Izuku grabbed one of the rusty shopping carts lying around and raced through the aisles, throwing in every junk food he could find.
Just in case, he checked the expiration dates, and most of them were still good.
Right when his cart was full, he suddenly felt something hit his back.
“En garde!”
Izuku had exactly two seconds to grab a pickle from a shelf and run.
He sprinted between the aisles while Haru quickly abandoned the snack cart and chased after him.
“Get back here, you damn swordsman with a pickle in your hand!”
“Never!”
And that’s how an entire hour passed until they were exhausted from running around and finally returned to the base.
Izuku noticed the backpack Haru had brought from the car and wondered what was inside.
Mentally, of course.
Because Haru hated mumbling.
“Alright! Get comfy. I brought some amazing movies downloaded onto my laptop!”
And just like that, Izuku realized something he should have figured out long ago.
Haru was showing him vulnerability and sensitivity.
They weren’t going to have sex here.
Izuku still doubted it a little because they had never shared a vulnerable moment like this outside of intimacy.
“Oh, yeah?” Izuku said while fluffing the pillows before lying down to watch the movie.
“Yeah!” Haru adjusted the laptop and started an action movie before curling up close beside Izuku.
“I prefer romance movies,” Izuku commented.
“Those are ridiculous,” Haru answered.
That made Izuku’s heart ache a little.
As the hopeless romantic he was, Izuku sometimes imagined that the love of his life would share all his tastes.
But not everyone liked the same things, right?
The second Haru said that, he got smacked in the face with a pillow from Izuku.
“Idiot, those movies are really good!”
Haru hit him back with another pillow, this time directly in the face.
“That crap is always boring. Love is never like in the movies, stop fantasizing!” Haru laughed.
Izuku tried to hide how uncomfortable that comment made him feel, but the pillow fight didn’t last long before he relaxed into Haru’s arms.
The remaining laughter slowly faded away, leaving only the warmth in Izuku’s chest as Haru intertwined their fingers.
“Now you know my safe place just like I know yours, sweetheart…”
Izuku laughed softly before pressing his lips against Haru’s cheek.
The movie was completely ignored.
Haru kept talking.
“You shouldn’t be jealous of Sarah. I know I’m not a sweet or affectionate guy, but I’ve never felt this kind of love for anyone before. I moved away before because people didn’t accept me socially, and I don’t want them hating me again for being… gay. And I don’t want to drag you into that same hell of exclusion. But you know I only love you.”
Izuku’s breath caught at the confession.
“I love you too.”
They were so close, their noses brushing together, and it ended in a sweet kiss without lust behind it.

After lots of cuddling and finishing the movie, it became 5 AM, and they still had an hour-long drive back to make it to school on time.
So once they cleaned everything up and left, Izuku gave the supermarket one last glance.
He imagined a future with Haru where the two of them showed their children the place of their first date—because that’s exactly what Izuku considered it.
A beautiful date filled with good memories.
So even with all the resignation and nostalgia in the world, he climbed into the car and they drove back toward town.
Izuku felt loved, and he hoped it would stay that way for the rest of their lives until society finally accepted them.
Until then, their love would remain a secret—one he hoped wouldn’t stay hidden for too long.
