Chapter Text

You wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

A few hours prior to your internal mental breakdown, it was just a normal day. You avoided the main characters like the plague, you stalked admired Riddle from afar, you do NOT have to the guts to talk to him.

He was exactly like how Ace described once in the game, one moment he's all cute like a hedgehog, and the next he's a porcupine.

To you, he's just way too perfect for this world! Adorable, beautiful, pretty, gorgeous, heavenly- Whatever comes next. He's like God, and you're just a lowly mortal who's lucky enough to breathe the same air as him.

You can tell it's around the beginning of the first book in the game. There's already talk of two idiots from Heartslabyul, being involved in the breaking of a thousand year old chandelier.

Who cares about though? Your favourite character literally lives on the same plane of existence as you right now. There's nothing better you can ask for. This was probably very unhealthy and the most parasocial relationship coded thing you've done, but who cares!

His perfection just needs to be documented! Framed even!

Cue your very concerned roommates about your recent behaviour. Now painfully aware that you have an entire shelf in your drawer dedicated to their scary, tyrant housewarden. They would question your mental state, but they realised that would mean nothing, as you are surprisingly unashamed to rant about your obsession with him.

They try to keep a good distance to avoid another rant about your Oshi which has sucked at least 10 years off their lifespan.

You on the other hand, have been the happiest you've ever been.

Did you finally get isekai'd? Yes.

Did you get sent to your latest obsession, Twisted wonderland? Also yes.

Did you get to see your one and only everyday? Absolutely.

This was paradise, you didn't even have to get involved with any of the plot nonsense. You can mostly do whatever you want! You're an extra, you have freedom to do what you want without getting dragged into Overblots and becoming a school therapist.

Since you're dead in your world now, you don't have to focus on leaving and finding another world. You technically are from Twisted wonderland now.

It's just... You're not exactly you, are you? Just a fortunate soul that possessed the body of someone who's actually from here. You wondered more about this person, what was his life before? Where was his poor soul now?

'Did you really deserve this?...'

Night Raven Collage was the perfect fantasy/Dark academia of your dreams. You're surrounded by fairytales you loved, in the land of which these stories once lived, actually happened. Your younger self would be squealing with joy, running around with full energy.

You've always loved stories. An escape from reality before the internet. A way of learning, a way to relax, something that can be fictional and non-fictional.

Now you were in the world where those tales existed.

A gnawing feeling in the back of your head though, knew this wasn't right. You never deserved any of this, yet here you were. So why?

These feelings of doubt you've tried to push back into the depths of your brain. Only for it to spring back up every once in awhile. You still pushed it down though.

You were particularly good at History class. Perhaps, it was your fascination with the fairytales that motivated you so. You were getting surprisingly high grades in it.

Physical education though... Was a little more difficult. You didn't understand how everyone else could control a broom with ease. It was just to nerve wracking. It was just an uncomfortable wooden pole versus gravity. How tragic. Your crotch always hurts after that class.

It took time for you to adjust being a boy now, but it was fairly easy. You really didn't have to change much. You were still the same as ever personality and mannerisms wise. If anything, the different centre of gravity was the part you had to get used too.

You still had like, zero friends though, wonder why. Definitely not because of your weirdly cheerful and unashamed, unfiltered persona that your subconscious brain decided to show the world of Twisted wonderland.

Sometimes you hear people calling you mad, some gave your the nickname 'Hatter', like the mad hatter from Alice in wonderland. You can see why people call you that because of your behaviour. You just can't help it though, it's a whole new world after all! A thousand things to explore!

All while avoiding the main story and getting involved with any of the characters, ah yes, a pure, fully safe, totally sane, parasocial relationship.

That flew down the drain the moment all heartslabyul students were called to sing for a hedgehog that sneezed. The only reason you actually came on time was because your roommates dragged you out of bed and warned you.

You were waiting for the housewarden to come, while standing attention. Your legs were absolutely killing you. How long was Riddle going to take? ... Riddle...

As you drifted off into thought, full of things like, 'Oh I wonder how Riddle was doing today...' 'I hope he ate well...' 'I haven't seen him since this morning...'

There was a sudden bang as the doors opened to reveal Cater and Trey holding a very frustrated and nervous, Ace and Deuce.

You remembered this scene from the anime! The one where they looked like they were worshipping the hedgehogs! The cult looking one!

You watched as they two were forced to kneel down while Cater and Trey took their positions.

Finally, like a the regal, prideful queen of hearts herself. Came Riddle Rosehearts from the high balcony. Your brain immediately had the biggest dopamine boost in history. You stared at Riddle. How is he anything less than a god? How could he be? He's too perfect! Too cute! You felt like exploding.

Before you can fully process the beauty of the angel before you. The singing started.

You were a second late but it seemed like no one noticed. You mouthed the words of the song in a choppy fashion, half actually saying the lyrics, and half blabber.

It was already funny enough that everyone was singing with a straightest, driest voice imaginable.

You tried not to stare at Riddle, if you did any longer, he'd definitely notice.

Your distracted gaze landed on the two in front of you.

That was the first mistake.

You saw the dejected and drained look on their faces. The collars on their necks weighing them heavily down.

Then you looked at Ace's face.

You saw possibly the most pathetic, drained and dejected look you've ever saw on him. He looked like a kicked puppy along with that one clown meme.

"PFFt-" You slapped your hand over your mouth. Everyone looked at your direction.

The air in the room turned as icy as Riddle's glare. "Who was that? Who dared to laugh!?" His eyes scanned the room. You quickly put your hand down, but Riddle still caught you.

"YOU!" He pointed his septor towards you. "Do you think this is some laughing matter? You DARE to interrupt?"

Your mind goes blank. He was talking to you, yelling at you, at you. Oh my Lord. HE WAS TALKING TO YOU!? HIM!? PERFECTION!? You may as well have been spoken too, by a very demanding and judgemental god.

"... M-me?..." An award-winning answer, you're truly showing your great intelligence level. You felt several generations of your bloodline cringe.

"Come up front! Clearly you don't understand unless punished!" He shouted, his glare only turning colder, his face burned hot red at your pathetic response. "OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!"

You were forced to kneel with Ace and Deuce. Your own head hanging low with your own heart-shaped collar.

"Welcome to the club..." Ace whispered.

You couldn't hear him. Riddle collared you. You've imagined this moment time and time again. Your inner freak and fangirl squeal together, jumping around while you're trying to look calm while actually being ecstatic about this.

Ace raised an eyebrow, this guy... wasn't upset about it? What a weirdo. Your happiness was painfully obvious to Ace, while Deuce looked like his soul left his body.

"What will I tell mom?..." You heard Deuce mutter. A dejected look on his face.

"Is he okay?" You asked, a little concerned.

Ace looked at Deuce and shrugged. "Probably."
