Chapter Text
I might have gotten a teensy bit lost when looking for Test Tube. I wasn't sure if she went straight, down the green colored hallway, or right, down the yellow colored hallway.
I went down the green hallway because it's Test Tube colored. Great logic, I know.
There were a few doors that were only on the left side, and there were some paper things on the right wall. One of them was a tree with handprint-shaped green paper as leaves, and another was a rainbow made of paper circles. I wish I could take a picture to upload to my blog.
When I made it to the end of the green hallway, I turned right into the orange hallway. On second thought, I'm seriously doubting that Test Tube came down this way. I'm about to turn back when I glance inside a room with two small bookshelves. I'm not usually a bookworm, but I can't help but be curious!
I walk into the room, and it's quite blue. There are boxes against the wall and multiple long whiteboards that cover up one of the walls that have many words on it, which I think are vocab words. There were a bunch of things on the wall, including an essay about someone, words we got from Shakespeare, an artwork about perspective, and some pictures with strange creatures, who I think were called humans, if I am remembering correctly. I wonder what if whoever owns this room has a method to their madness.
The few books that were on the bookshelf were novels around 200 and 300 pages. I didn't read any, but I did wonder about how wonderfully complex each of them must be. It would be an interesting topic for a blog.
The rest of the things there were either workbooks, smaller books, or folders, each of them I didn't want to look through. I think I spent enough time here, and I had to get to Test Tube. I went back the way I came.
At the point where I could either turn to the blue hallway or continue to where we came from, I saw the person I was looking for walking out of the blue hallway.
"Test Tube! I was looking for you," I said, running up to her.
"Oh, Fan! I didn't know you would be here, why were you..." Test Tube trailed off as she suddenly felt awkward, like she just remembered what happened a few minutes ago.
"...yeah, I came looking for you because I didn't want you to be upset at Lightbulb. She was just trying to help, she didn't know that would happen." I tried to explain.
"I understand. I was a little harsh on Lightbulb. It's just...I didn't like seeing all my hard work literally explode in front of me!" Test Tube said.
"Maybe if we find another calculator you could recreate what you did?" I hoped that this wasn't a dumb idea.
"Right, I was planning to do the same thing! It might be a bit difficult considering the size of everything around here, but I'll try," Test Tube paused for a second, possibly processing a new thought visiting her mind. She then sighed and said, "Golly, I didn't even consider that I don't have any materials..."
Fan thought to went he first went after Test Tube. In the hallway with the blue lockers, he saw a sign next to a door that said "Think STEM". It was pretty much guaranteed to be stuff in there.
"I saw a STEM classroom in that hallway we started in. We could get materials there."
"Okay, lets check that place out. We still need a calculator, though."
At this point, we started to walk back to where Lightbulb and Paintbrush are.
"I'll ask Lightbulb and Paintbrush if they've seen one, assuming that they aren't far from where they last were."
"Then I'll look in the STEM room while you do that."
There was a brief period of silence as we were walking until Test Tube interrupted it.
"...Do you still want to explore the school?"
"Oh! Umm..."
I thought for a bit. This school did look big, and we had already gone through enough trouble here.
"No, not anymore."
Test Tube just nodded and turned to face forward.
I showed Test Tube where the STEM room was when we were close, then went further down the hallway to the room we were first in. I just know we will be able to go home soon.
