Chapter Text

Tuesday February 9th 7:30 am

As the sun rose, Misha’s 5th alarm finally went off, prompting her to get up. She took her sweet time getting ready before leaving the house and again driving to that damn cafe. Misha spent the car ride thinking of what to say to the cashier.

Am I gonna look insane?

Gods up above give me the strength..

Before she knew it, she was again parked horribly, staring into the cafe window, trying to see if she was there, and after a while, she realized how creepy she looked and walked inside. Thank the Gods she actually looked up at the cash register and saw her beloved mystery woman. The cashier greeted her like normal, giving her a small smile as she put in Misha's usual order. Right as Misha was about to walk away, she finally got a look at her name tag, ‘Nis’. As she was about to make a little more small talk and ask for her number, an impatient man bumped her out of the way, forcing her to leave the line. Another day, another failed attempt at getting that girl's number, at least she knows her name now…Nis the name felt right rolling off her tongue. As she waited for her name to be called, Misha stared off at the wall, not realizing her name had been called at least 3 times to the point one of Nis' coworkers had made her go up to Misha and give her the drink. Misha stared at Nis for a while before taking the now lukewarm coffee from her,” uh- you-you're hair is gorgutiful-damnit..” Misha's small bit of confidence deflated as Nis stared for a second, startled and confused, “Thank you..?” She answered, watching the gears turn in Misha's head before she quickly walked out of the cafe, embarrassed. As Misha slammed her car door shut, she didn't hesitate before backing out of the parking spot, almost hitting the same man who pushed her, and driving to school.

SHE HATES ME OH MY GOD

I JUST MADE A FOOL OF MYSELF

SHE THINKS I'M A FREAK

Tuesday February 9th 8:30 am

For the first time in a while, Misha is early to school. As she sat in the empty parking lot, she stared at the trees and a ragged-looking van with flowers painted on it, wondering what was wrong with her. Why can't she just talk to her? It's never been this hard to get with someone she likes. She took a deep breath and looked around the parking lot before letting out a murderous scream.

What if I just end my shit?

I'm such an embarrassment, oh my goddd

After her much needed yell and come to jesus moment to calm down she turned the radio on the song “Earrings” by Malcolm Todd started playing and she immediately turned the music to something else only for “Good Luck, Babe” to start playing, now agitated she skipped another song just for “Late Nights & Heartbreak” to start playing after that she just decided it's not time for music and sat in silence until her friend Tony came to her car knocking on the glass. She gets out of her car, obviously upset, handing Tony his usual coffee, “What's wrong with you? Mystery cashier again?” Misha looked up from the ground, slowly nodding, “I learned she goes here and now it feels even harder to talk to her..” Tony friend looked at her before starting to giggle, “SHE GOES HERE, AND YOU STILL CAN'T TALK TO HER??” “IT'S NOT MY FAULT, I DIDN'T KNOW!? SHE'S PROBABLY SEEN MY WORST OUTFITS OH MY FUCKING GODDD!” she whined as Tony dragged her into school.

As the day went on, she still daydreamed about Nis searching the hallways for her. As she walked to P.E., she finally saw her walking with the guy she ran into yesterday to class. He was small, like tiny compared to Nis, with blonde hair and the baggiest pants ever, “How does he not trip over those?” She thought right as she turned around, the boy tripped on the back of his pants, falling face-first on the tile floor, “Oh god DAMNIT!” The boy yelled, covering his now bleeding nose as Nis sighed, “I told you to roll your pants up, but nooo Foxglove don't listen to me..” She rolled her eyes, handing Foxglove a tissue before dragging him to the nurse's office forcing him to sit in a chair and quickly stared to walk away,” Whoa, hey! Where are you going, don't leave me by myself!?” He shouted, confused, “I'm not staying with you, I don't care if you don't know where you're going, I have a girl I'd like to see.” She said not giving him enough time to answer as she walked to the gym. Nis looked around the gym, and there she was, that pretty pink-haired girl who shows up to her job every day, “maybe moving schools wasn't so bad..” she whispered to herself, walking over to the bleachers, sitting a couple of seats behind Misha, hoping she'd notice her. She did, in fact, notice Nis and decided to use this opportunity to properly speak to her.

She turned around,  trying to make eye contact, “Um, hey, don't you work at that coffee down the street?” “Yeah, I do.. You're that girl who comes in every day..” Misha chuckled as she waved Nis to come sit with her, “yeah..I just..love that place's coffee..” “no you don't.. there's no need to lie..the coffee sucks ass..” Nis said, chuckling. Misha soon laughed after realizing how dumb it was to lie about this. As the two talked about Gods know what, the dismissal bell rang, and she finally decided to use this as her opportunity,Hey..um Nis, right? Could I maybee get your number, you're like..really cool..” she asked nervously as Nis nodded her head and they exchanged phones. Walking out of their class, that same little blonde boy was leaning up against the wall waiting for Nis, “NIS HURRY UPPP,” he groaned, holding his hand out, “ I wanna hurry home, please! I need to see- a certain person..” “Don't be an ass, foxglove, I'm talking to my…friend!” She said hesitantly, throwing her car keys at him, “Go to the van and wait.” Foxglove mocked her as he picked the keys up off the ground and left the building.

“Soo…is he your friend..? Brother..?” Misha asked, a little confused. Nis sighed, looking back over at Misha, “Sadly, yes, he is.. I'm sorry about all that.. I need to go before he starts honking the horn.” She rolled her eyes, waving Misha goodbye as she quickly walked away. As Misha watched her walk away, she stared down at Nis' contact, “Finally.. After months of small talk, I FINALLY HAVE HER NUMBER!” she thought, smiling as she basically started to skip to the parking lot. Tony was leaning against her car, “Took you long enough! Where the hell were you!” He shouted, “I have her number..” She whispered, smiling, “Who? The coffee girl?” As Misha eagerly nodded her head, Tony and she jumped around excitedly, “Are you gonna text her? Let me help you!!” Misha and Tony spent the whole car ride giggling and talking about Foxglove's possible STDs.

Notes:
