Chapter Text
Max opened the front door as soon as he realized who was in front of him. His face was already lit up: a bright, wide smile with a subtle biting of his lip, narrowed sparkling eyes, and a warm, joyful scent, not hidden by blockers. Lavender and sandalwood mixed with juicy mango, making this cool aroma sweeter, more appetizing. Just so that the urge to bite becomes physically uncomfortable. And now he was standing there in nothing but some stretched-out t-shirt, completely soaked in sweat, and shorts that were short, even too short. It was just between him and God how he tore his gaze away from the milky curve of his ass.
"I wasn't expecting you, but I'm really glad you decided to come by," Max moved further into the apartment, letting the guest in. The window was flooded with soft light, creating a snow-white halo around him. It made him look so innocent, so pure, that for a second Dani felt ashamed of the reason that had pulled him onto a plane in the middle of the night. But it was only for a second, no more.
"Yeah, I wanted to see you," he stretched his lips, slowly approaching Max, deliberately savoring the view he had. "I hope I'm not interrupting?"
"Of course not! I'm always free for you," Max hummed, throwing his head back in a pure and sincere feeling. His blue eyes reverently caught Dani's gaze, reassuring and knocking all the air out of him at the same time. "Do you want something to eat? Or a drink?"
"Maybe some water," Dani replied in a quiet, distracted voice, as the distance between them slowly closed.
His hand rose habitually, his exposed scent gland slightly reddened, especially noticeable against the Dutchman's almost porcelain skin—even the sun was afraid to touch his body too much. A gentle touch brought goosebumps for a second, but quickly gave way to warmth. Max blossomed, pressing into the palm and closing his eyes. Dark and thick vetiver with orange, clearly wandering under the sun due to his overwhelming emotions, mixed with the omega's scent. But Max just basked in it, habitually grabbing onto the other's shirt with his palms. The heat of his skin immediately lay heavily on his own, so that it felt natural and right.
"If you want, you can wait for me in the nest while I get the water," Dani nodded, but didn't pull away. His calloused hand moved higher, gently running his fingers over Max's flushed cheeks. Max rubbed against his palm, taking in more of the scent, and reluctantly pulled away to fulfill the request.
Dani had been in Max's apartment many times before. They often all got together when they had the chance. It had become their little team ritual, which quickly became an integral part of life. Even Max's zoo had accepted them all, even finding favorites—Dani still couldn't hold back a laugh when he remembered how Sassy had completely taken over Jules, who obediently followed every whim of the grey, grumpy cat.
Sassy meowed distinctly, demanding attention. She had already climbed onto the shelf, looking at Dani expectantly and insistently. Maybe, just maybe, Jules wasn't the only one wrapped around her little paw.
"Hey, hi there, sweetheart. I hope you don't mind me stealing your dad today? Mmm, maybe for a long time," his fingers traced along her jaw, massaging the spot just below her ear, and receiving a pleased purr in return—one child was already bribed.
The nest hit him with the familiar mix of their team scent. In a way, he was very proud of this, especially knowing that Max had stopped taking things from the Formula 1 pack. The embarrassment, when the question finally became obvious, had been beautiful on Max's face. And his quiet, honest voice about greater safety, about pleasure and security, had done something crazy to all of them, when the next day, without hiding it, they each brought stacks of their favorite clothes.
The soft texture felt just as right as the knowledge that his t-shirt was lying right by the pillow. A quiet sigh of pure pleasure involuntarily escaped his chest. Saturating it with his scent, he ran his hand over the fabric, filling it with his aroma. Satisfied with himself, without thinking twice, he ran his hand over the pillow as well. Max was taking longer than usual to come back, but seeing him carry some cut-up fruit, all questions vanished—along with Dani's heart, which immediately dropped and started beating with renewed vigour.
"I thought this would be nice," a quiet blush quickly spread up to his neck, making him several times more attractive, while it affected Dani even in his usual state of being completely smitten.
Nodding was harder than usual, as his eyes followed Max's small figure. Putting everything on the nightstand, he darted into the nest, immediately pressing himself to the pillow in delight. A sweet purr broke from his throat, while his teeth bit down more noticeably on his lower lip. Dani was patient. But not that patient.
His hand slowly curled around the other's waist, feeling how his body readjusted to open up. Pliant and warm, it felt almost ephemeral as he wrapped his orange scent around them. He pulled him closer, catching a surprised squeak that immediately turned into an even louder purr. His fingers habitually buried themselves in the other's t-shirt, and his head pressed against Dani's chest, while the alpha above him continued to hold him close. Carefully hiding his deepening blush, he began to subtly cover the scent, not letting his emotions become obvious.
Dani sighed, burying his fingers in the light blonde hair, immediately starting to massage. The subtle change in Max was obvious now, especially since he was no longer blind. The desire to tease, to see a reaction, especially knowing that Max was absolutely terrible at hiding his emotions when embarrassed. Adjusting their position, he guided Max's head toward the scent gland on his neck, making it all more intimate, stronger. The tremor of the body against him was small, but it ignited a heat inside his own body so rapidly that he had to close his eyes to survive the surge. Fuck.
"You know," he opened his eyes and leaned in, almost touching his lips to Max's ear, "a certain hot Spaniard would be very happy to hear some words from you directly."
Max froze, then subtly tried to pull away, only ending up pressed even tighter against Dani's neck. A pure, habitual desire to argue flared up before his brain had even fully processed the information.
"I'm not…" Max stopped mid-word when he felt a touch on his temple. Dry, slightly rough lips pressed down in a barely perceptible kiss.
"I don't think it matters, princess," Dani placed another kiss, lower. But now firmer, lingering there and smoothly tracing a path to the corner of his jaw. Max's breathing hitched, his fingers turning white as he clenched the shirt until it creaked. "Except that I should say that now I'll do everything differently, if you'll let me, my little piece."
