Chapter Text
November 17, 2005
The preparation, the costs and whatsoever were tough, but despite this, it was all worth it of course. Everything took around 15 months and around 15000 euros in savings (from overtime hours they both did). It wasn't going to be that massive though, they're not going to walk down the hall to the altar in a extragavant outfit or something like that.
Good thing they're marrying now, since same-sex marriage was now legal in The Netherlands since 2001.
Now, there were two final stuff to do: get the attire and the rings. Which costed like 500€ and 1100€ respectively
There were around 39 people invited. Those being friends, relatives and trusted coworkers. Kids under 9 weren't allowed to come.
The night before, Heino was restless, thinking of the vows he'd write for his fiancé.
Heino's POV
My leg was moving up and down from the anxiety I felt, I just knew that one of us was going to go first to wait at the altar.
Listen, I love Marcel with all my heart but what if he changes his mind right before I even put the ring on him? Well, it's only a matter of ti-..
"Stop getting that panicked man, you'll get the blush all over your mouth and eyes" Diantha says while putting the makeup on me. It smells odd, but it's the way it should be, I guess. She got me off my thoughts.
"I just don't know what to do, Dia. What if he doesn't even want to do this?" I ask, as my hands get even more sweaty, skin getting colder and shivering.
"JUST LISTEN TO ME!" Abruptly, I felt her arms grab my shoulders. "Heino, Marcel loves you more than anything. You just have to have faith. He says "I do"? Well, perfect! If not, life will give him karma one way or another or.. you'll just let it be, find someone else and that's it. Got it?"
"Mhm".
"Ok now, let me adjust a bit the corset and your bowtie. Then the veil and you'll be all done." Well, the first thing hurt a bit, but the next things were a peice of cake.
"Anyways, what do you think?"
Oh honey, that was more than perfect. My hair which was tied into a bun and the white suited me so well. I think this looks really attractive, or at least that's what I thought. Eh, "just wait and see" they say.
"Amazing."

Meanwhile, Marcel was waiting, fidgeting with his necktie and with his eye fixed on the door in front of him.
It took some minutes to see some movement behind it and there he was.
Heino.. Was that really him?
That was the same person he was about to share his entire life with. The same person he shared years with.
It's him! He's so godlike..
"Hey there." His soft grin, trying to say something else but the thing that mattered now was what had to be done: get married.
The preist began the formal event, saying what you guys know (we're gathered here to celebrate the union of these two (and so on..) Then, they were allowed to give their vows.
"... I never thought this day would actually be true. But despite everything, we're here I-it's amazing! These feelings never stopped ever since I laid my eyes on you. Therefore, I promise that I'll always stay by your side, winning or losing."
"Heino, every time I think of you I just hope for us to stay together, now and forever. If you could even see the way I see you for just a second, you're just perfect. Inside and outside. So I promise that from now on, we'll be a team and support each other no matter what."
The two stayed staring their eyes, tear droplets falling down. Even when the rings were exchanged.
"And so, for the power that was confered to me I pronounce you as husbands. You may now kiss."
I'm not even lying when I say that both were deaf to the sound of the applause.
Marcel's POV
The party was amazing. From the moment we did the first toast to our marriage to when I danced with Heino for the first time.
For some reason, my cousin and Irma thought that it would be a good idea to drink 3 vodkas and uhh.. Let's just say they were acting stupid by alcohoI at the fifth cup they drank. I literally had to search for an bag so Brenda could throw up.
Irma grabbed my leg and started saying that she loved me while licking my shoe then legs. Between Jöel and Diantha we had to take her away from me because if not, she would've gone feral like a year and a half ago (that got her indefinitely banned from the bar we were at)
"Get her a cab at the near end of this, she's trembling like a pool noodle." Says my uncle while putting her on a chair, stressed out, to calm down he wanted to go dance a little at the centre.
Meanwhile I wanted to drink some wine at a table as I felt Heino's hand on my back. Eyes fixed on me.
"Hey honey, are enjoying yourself?" He asks, while caressing my arm it was a really nice feeling for me, even more so, since we just married
"Yes, of course, why?" I ask with a smile a little confused, but i'll trust him, I don't really care.

They walked to the emptiest place they could find in order to hear whatever Heino had to say, It seemed important so they leaned into each other
"What is it sweetheart?" Marcel asks in a soft voice, looking down that his husband's hand was on his waist now, insinuating something that was obviously romantic, sensual perhaps but now it was only a matter of time of what he could say.
"I just wanted to ask you something.." Then took a breath before he kept going and went down his hips, barely grasping his ass. "If we were stuck in a room together, with only one bed.. what would you do?"
"O-Oh! Well, I would.. I would most definitely stay with you, hug you, kiss you, hang out.. anything you like. In other words" The black haired gets on his tiptoes, almost reaching his husband's 196cm to whisper "I wouldn't mind if I get fucked by you, in fact, it's what I wanted for a while now."
That only was enough to make Heino's member half hard.
"Well, if that's so, I'll see you in an hour and a half. Nähdaan, my darling"
At 11:46 PM, Everyone started cleaning, then leaving. Giving their congrats and best wishes to the couple. And as they looked towards the door, both Heino and Marcel knew god damn well what was next.
A few years after the wedding(2010) , they adopted a Lithuanian 14-year-old named Evelina Žemaitytė, whose dad died at the age of 9 by Lung cancer, her mother (whose name is unknown for now, follow my DeviantArt the day I do a Q/A about me or my fics) abused drugs and beat her daily, therefore, Child Protection Services took her away and the woman was set for trial.
It was a little bit hard for her to adapt to the life she had now in Holland, but ever since the day she met Marcel and Heino life started to regain its colors again.
She was a lot like her fathers when they were young. A raging system-oppositor, with an amazing talent for art (painting, specifically). She admired Michael Angelo, Van Gogh and so many others.
But one day, she found that art can be a lot more than she knows.
November 9th, 2021 (Age 25 at this moment)
Before she left the residence her parents to help them clean the attic, Evelina had to take an anti-allergic and drive some miles from Amsterdam, where her college was to Haarlem. (oh and the face masks, Coronavirus was still around)
The men, now aged 43, wanted to clean or sell whatever was necessary
"Hi dad" The Lithuanian-Dutch said as she hugged his suomi father. They don't see themselves often due to the quantity of presentations, thesises (?) she had to present and whatsoever.
"Evie, honey! Come in!" Heino says as he moves the dust off his clothes for a second, it was his day off, so that was better for him in order to clean the room.
"How are things at the hospital?" Evelina asks to break the ice, she knows well that many people have been dying by the pandemy but she wanted to make sure if he and her other dad were ok. They were both nurses after all.
"Eh.. same thing as last year, a bit. Just wait for winter time and let's pray that won't happen, but the cases will go higher." He says, grabbing a broom, then boxes that said "Keep." and "Sell"
20 minutes had passed after she got to the residence, 15 in the attic when she found the video cassettes among them there were some that said "Diva Phone" then "Wedding" and another one called "Jubilant Avenue" this one caused more interest on her, so she pulled up the old CRT that was near her and put the recordings one by one. There, young people had extravagant outfits, wild backgrounds and voices that were common among 13-19 year olds.
It was definitely about system rebellion, she absolutely loved it. Maybe painting isn't the only way to express something.
"Hey dad, come here! I found some stuff I want to keep" Evelina says, her eyes fixed on the artefacts and then the TV.
"What happened sweetie?"
"These video cassettes I found are amazing! Lemme show you."
And so, he saw the logo himself drew. With a high pitched voice and youthful clothes, he was singing the prechorus of Diva Phone.
"Oh for god's sake.. That's me!" He laughs. That was both cringey and good to watch.
"Really? You do have talent!"
Yep, she's keeping those with her.
And so, they spent the afternoon cleaning, having some tea and talking like if they were old ladies before playing bingo with the other eldery that come to do the same.
"I'm glad you spent a good time Evie, well, I'll let you go Love you!" He says as the car starts the motor.
"I love you too!" And so, she left to Amsterdam again.
10:59 PM
Marcel had just come back from the hospital, rough day, yes, but at least he's at home right now, with Hei.
"Hi sweetheart, how was work?" He hugs him after putting his robe on. He already ate the way back home, by the way.
"I did well, now, what about you? Did Evelina come today?" He asks while they walked to their room.
"Of course, she helped me and a lot." And then was a comfortable silence, where the black haired man was completely sure he had something else to say.
"..And.. you know? she is kinda like us when we were teens. Rebellious, wild and free"
"Does she really?"
"Mhm. Same whimsiness and silent protests on her works." He let his hair down and so, they sat down and didn't say a word for like 5 minutes before Heino said something again.
"Thank you."
"Hm?"
"Just thank you."
"For what?"
"Everything."
"But why?"
"I mean, i'm so happy I can live a life like this with you, Marcel. Like, look at us, we were literally teens that thought this will eventually pass but no! In a few days we'll have been married for 16 years and.. I hope we keep it this way for another 16"
A silence followed, then he felt himself being grabbed then cradled, his head on Marcel's chest. The feeling of the warmth and how slow his breathing was were like a lullaby to his husband
Heino smiled to the sensation and hugged him once more. "I just love you so much and I want you to know that, ok?"
"I'm glad it was always you, Heino" The shorter man says as he caresses his husband's hair. The suomi was so beautiful he could even cry right now.
Maybe it was him after all.
