Chapter Text

*Beep! Beep! Beep!” Izuku woke up to his alarm clock going off. He stopped it and stretched his arms before getting out of bed. There was some noise coming from downstairs. Did Mr. Peter and Jolyne sleep in the living room again? There was no yelling thankfully, so Izuku switched out of his pajamas and into his gym uniform, it would be good for when he fought with Mr. Peter again. Last night before going to bed, he had read about Spiderman from the other Izuku’s notebooks. They might have been a little biased, but it was a great source of information, and he had a lot of new ideas on how to potentially defeat Mr. Peter in a fight.

Downstairs the curtains were closed, and he saw Ms. Ella set the table for breakfast. She was wearing the same dress from yesterday, did she have nothing else to wear?

“Good morning Ms. Ella,” Izuku said.

“Oh, good morning Deku,” She said. “I haven’t gone to get breakfast yet, but I wanted everything to be ready,”

“Thank you, but you don’t need to do that if you don’t want to,” Zuko said as he walked down the stairs. Behind him was Todoroki and Kachan.

“I know, but I am still used to making breakfast, I could not go back to sleep and do nothing, and I still do not know exactly how a grocery store works. I am still not used to everything in the kitchen,” She pointed to the microwave and the fridge.

“I can take you to the grocery store now if you want.” Deku said. “I was planning to go there anyways, just let me brush my teeth first,”

“Thank you,”

With Deku in the bathroom, it was the first time the new “family” was alone with each other since yesterday morning. Then it was too loud, and there was so much confusion about everything to really think about their “family”

“So,” Zuko started. “I going to take a guess that you wouldn’t like it if I called you my sons,”

“Fuck off!” Bakugo gave Zuko the middle finger. “As far as I’m concerned, none of that family bullshit matters. We have a lot of weird photos, that’s it. You can adopt Icy-Hot if you want, but don’t expect me to be his brother,”

“I’ve already had one troublesome brother, I don’t need another one,”  Todoroki said.

“Hey, don’t compare me to that shitty villain, I’m a hero!”

“Villian?” Ms. Ella asked.

Todoroki frowned. “My family. . .is complicated,” he said.

“That’s underselling it,” Bakugo said.

“My family’s complicated too,” Zuko said.

“So is mine,” Ms. Ella said.

“I see,” Todoroki said. “Is there a pattern to who is family in this world? Zuko and I can both control fire, but how am I connected to Ms. Ella and Bakugo?”

“It doesn’t matter.” Bakugo said. “None of this family stuff is real anyways,”

“It might not be, but aren’t you a little curious about our connection?” Zuko asked.

“Fuck no. I’m leaving, don’t bother me until the shitty nerd is back with food,” Bakugo stomped back up the stairs

A few seconds later, Izuku exited the bathroom. “Are we ready to go?” he asked.

“Yes,” Ms. Ella said.

“Great!” Izuku gave her a wide grin, and she gave him a small smile back. He opened the sliding glass door and then stopped.

“What’s wrong?” Shoto asked.

“There’s a street now.” Izuku said, then he looked to the right. “And another house,”

“What?” Zuko twisted the rod and opened the blinds, revealing that there was now a cobblestone path in front of their house. They all stepped out on the porch, and Izuku realized that the path connected them to not just the other house, but to all the shops on the island as well.

The other house was almost identical to theirs. It had the same first floor, and the second floor looked like it was built out of four different colored shipping containers. There was no third floor, so maybe that meant only four people could arrive each day?

“What should we do now?” Ms. Ella asked.

“We should get the others.” Zuko said. “And discuss with them,”

“I’ll go get them,” Shoto said. He went back inside as Izuku, Zuko, and Ms. Ella continued to stare at the other house.

“What if they’re hostile?” Ms. Ella asked.

“If they are, we can keep you safe,” Izuku said. “But I doubt they will be, so far, no one here has been a villain,”

“Jolyne was in prison,” Zuko said.

“She said she was framed,”

“That’s what everyone in prison says. Trust me, I’ve been in one before,”

Before Izuku could ask what he meant with that, Shoto was back with everyone else. Mr. Peter was in his Spiderman suit, while Oliver was still in his pajamas, though he had thrown his doctor’s coat over it.

“Have you seen any movement in the house?” Mr. Peter asked.

“No. Should we just walk up and knock?”

“I mean, what else can we do? Even if we stay here, they'll come out and come to us,” Oliver said.

Mr. Peter nodded. “True, but maybe it's best if not all of us go over.” he side eyed Kachan.

“I'll go with you!” Izuku said.

“Good,” Mr. Peter and Izuku walked over to the other house. From the porch, they could hear the sounds of arguments, but couldn't make out the words.

Suddenly the blinds opened, revealing a group of four people. One was a girl around a little older than Izuku, with long white hair in a ponytail and a scar over her right eye. The second was a boy around Izuku's age, with blond hair. He was wearing a black leather outfit, and had two black cat ears and green cat like eyes. The third one was also a boy around the same age with blond hair, but it was mostly covered by a white hat with two small bear ears on top. He was wearing normal clothes, and held a battered old sword in his hand. The last person was the oldest, and she had long blue hair. A pair of white car ears were on her head, a cat tail, and giant cat paws and feet. Her outfit was strange, looking like she had white lines painted over her whole body.

The group of odd people stared at Izuku and Mr. Peter for a second, then the white haired girl marched over to the door and slid it open. She pointed her saber at them.

“Who are you, and how did you bring us here?” She demanded.

“Hey, don’t be so rude!” The cat boy said. He appeared behind the girl. “Sorry,”

“We didn’t bring you here.” Mr. Peter said. “Two days ago, we ended up on this island after a bright flash of white, and we have discovered that our powers stop past the buoys, and there might not be a way home,”

The girl lowered her sword. “There’s no way home?”

“There might be, we just haven’t found it yet. In the meantime, we should introduce ourselves and work together,” He pointed to himself. “I’m Spiderman, but you can also call me Peter Parker,”

“And I’m Deku, hero in training! Nice to meet you,” He held out his hand, and the girl reluctantly shaked it.

“I’m Weiss Schnee,” she said. “I wish I could say it was a pleasure to meet you, but. . .”

“It’s okay.” Izuku said. “None of us wanted to be brought here,”

“I’m Chat Noir, a Parisian hero.” The cat boy scooted past Weiss and shook Mr. Peter and Izuku’s hand. “Has anybody named Ladybug arrived here?”

“No, sorry,” Mr. Peter said. Chat Noir’s smile slipped off his face.

“But she was with me when the white light appeared,"

“I was with people too when that happened, but then they arrived a day later than me. Maybe Ladybug will show up later?”

“But why wouldn’t she be with me now?”

“Like I said, all of this is very confusing and we don’t have an answer for everything, or most things, yet,” Mr. Peter said.

“Everything will work out,” the other blond boy said. He pushed through Weiss and Chat Noir to stand in front of Izuku and Mr. Peter.

“Hi I’m Finn the Human,”

“Can you guys move?” The cat girl asked in a New York accent. Everyone moved out to the porch, and the cat girl held out her ha-paw.

“I’m Felica,” She said.

“Felica huh. . .I know another cat girl who goes by that name,” Mr. Peter said as he shook her paw.

“Really? Cool, can I meet her?”

“She’s not here right now, I’m not from the same New York as you,”

“That’s a shame,” She turned to Izuku, who was very focused on looking at her large ears.

“Hello! Deku right?” She asked as she grabbed his hand and shook it.

“Y-yeah!” He felt his face heat up, and turned around once she let go of his hand. “We should go back to the others, I’m sure they’ll be happy to meet you,”

They follow Izuku and Mr. Peter back to their house. Everyone was still waiting on the porch. Mr. Peter laughed when he saw the red faces of Shoto, Kachan, and Oliver, who even had a nose bleed.

After everyone introduced themselves, Weiss asked.

“What’s the plan?”

“Plan?” Shoto asked.

“Plan to go back home. Mr. Parker said we can’t use our powers beyond the buoys, but there must be something on the island instead,”

“We’ve tried asking the cashiers at the shops, but they weren’t any help,” Oliver said.

“So you’re just going to give up?”

“We’re not giving up.” Izuku said. “We’re just not sure about what to do next,”

“Have you tried making a boat to leave the island?”

“Um, no-”

“Then let’s do that!” Weiss walked over to one of the many palm trees along the beach.

“These should work. Finn, come use your sword to cut these down,”

“Okay!” Finn followed her, and Izuku looked over at Mr. Peter, who had taken his mask off.

“Do you think a boat will work?” Izuku asked.

Mr. Peter shrugged. “It’s worth a shot.” He looked at everyone else from their household. “I say we go help. If we work together, the sooner the boat will be built,”

“Who made you in charge!” Kachan yelled. “I don’t take orders from you!”

“But Kachan, don’t you want to leave?” Izuku asked.

“Of course I do shitty nerd, but I don’t want to be some lacky!”

“Do you always have to be so difficult?” Shoto asked. “Unless you want to stay here forever, taking some orders will be worth it,”

With gritted teeth, Kachan said “Fine. But if I’m doing manual labor, I’m eating first,” He started walking on the new road to the grocery store.

“Kachan, take Ms. Ella with you. I offered to show her what it was this morning, but then we saw the other house and-”

“Tell her to hurry up then, I’m not slowing down for an extra!” Ms. Ella hurried after Kachan.

“Alright.” Mr. Peter said. “Let’s get started,”

Ella caught up to Bakugo, who for once didn’t have a sneer on his face. Instead he was frowning, and when he looked over at Ella, it grew deeper, but he didn’t say anything. The island was small, so it didn’t take them too long to reach the store.

The doors magically opened without being touched. They stepped inside, and a statue with a tv head moved. She jumped when it’s “face” turned to look at them.

WELCOME TO FRESH KINGDOM appeared on the screen. She was still confused on how those tv things worked, but didn’t they need to be activated by a button? That’s how it seemed to work when Shoto demonstrated the one in the living room to her yesterday.

“Um hello,” Ella said.

“Don’t talk to that fucking thing,” Bakugo said.

“Why not?”

“It’s trapping us here,”

I AM NOT TRAPPING YOU. I AM HERE TO MAKE SURE FOOD IS PROVIDED FOR EVERYONE

“If you’re not trapping us, then tell us how to leave!”

I AM NOT ABLE TO DO THAT. I AM HERE TO MAKE SU

Bakugo punched the tv. The screen broke, and smoke escaped from the box. Bakugo’s hand was now covered in blood thanks to small cuts from the broken glass.

“Oh my!” Ripping apart the bottom of her apron, she took his hand and started to bandage it. “We need to you get you back to house for treatment, hopefully we can find some real bandages,”

“I’ll be fine, I survived worst things,”

Then the world reversed. The glass shards shot from Bakugo’s hands back to the tv and reformed like it was never broken. All the wounds and blood disappeared from his hand, and her piece of apron unraveled then flew back to her apron was stitched back together. This all happened in an instant.

“Wha-what happened?” Ella asked.

NO PERMANENT HARM IS ALLOWED ON THE ISLAND TO BOTH THE ISLANDERS AND WORKERS. Appeared on the tv screen.

“So I can just punch you over and over again and my hand will never be damaged?” Bakugo asked.

YES

He lunched to punch the worker again, but Ella’s hand was still holding onto his, and she pulled him back.

“Don’t punch it again, you’ll only get hurt!”

“Didn’t you just see what happened? My hand will fix myself in a few seconds,”

“But doesn’t it still hurt when the glass cuts you?”

“Yeah, but like I said, I’ve survived worse,”

“But still, hurting that. . .thing won’t solve anything. We should be focused on getting food for everyone, not causing random violence,” She squeezed his hand and their eyes met, and for the first time she didn’t see anger in his eyes, but fear.

He shook her hand off and stuffed both of them into his pockets. “Don’t touch me like that again or I’ll punch you next,” He turned his back to her as he looked at what food was offered.

“Why would you punch me, aren’t you a hero?”

“Shut up!”

She didn’t want to, but she also didn’t want to get into another pointless argument. So she stayed silent and took a closer look at the food on the shelves. The things from yesterday were still here, and the ones from the day before that. There were four new items, labeled with a sign that said new underneath them. Only two of them were recognizable to her, a cinnamon bun and a grilled fish, though she had never heard of it before, since it was from the pacific ocean.

“What is that?” She asked as she pointed to the small cube object in the drink section, labeled protein shake.

“It’s a drink with a lot of protein in it,” Bakugo said.

“What’s protein?”

Bakugo groaned. “Ask Icy-Hot, he’ll explain everything to you,”

He walked over to the worker. “I want fifty of everything and a hundred of the protein shakes,”

The tv screen now showed everything in the store, and the amount of times they were purchased. With a sharp ring, it all disappeared and was replaced with

PURCHSED. HAVE A NICE DAY

“Fuck off,” Bakugo started walking out of the store, and Ella followed him. From here they could see everyone else, including the new people, cutting down trees.

“Do they plan to make a boat?” Ella asked.

“Duh, what else are they going to build, a giant bonfire?”

“True, but what happens after the boat sails and we leave the island?”

“We go to the city,”

“And then what? Would being in the city be better than staying here, where we at least have food and water?”

Bakugo paused, then said. “It might not be better, but if there’s a chance that the city has a way home, we need to get there,”

Izuku whipped the sweat off his brow with one hand as he took a breath, the other hand holding a log over his shoulder. So far, they’ve made one raft, using the palm trees and Mr. Peter’s web rope to tie them together. It would only fit four people though, so they would need to make two more and then oars.

“Oh, Kachan!” He waved when he saw Kachan and Ms. Ella walked towards the house. “What’s on the menu for today?’

“Go inside and see for yourself,”

“Is it finally breakfast?” Oliver asked. He was sweating worse than Izuku.

“Yeah, let’s take a break,” Izuku put down the log.

“What are you?” Weiss yelled. “Were not even half way done,”

“Well I’m done helping for now.” Oliver said. “At least until I get something to eat,”

“But we still have work to do!”

“He’s right.” Chat Noir said. Despite wearing black leather, he didn’t seem to be sweating. “Eating something now will give us more fuel to finish the boats later,”

“Fine.” Weiss said, crossing her arms and looking at Izuku. “Show us the food, please,”

It was a little crowded inside with twelve people, so Izuku was sitting on one of the sofas in the living room. Kachan had ordered a lot of everything, especially the new protein shakes. They looked like a generic store brand, and the information on the back of the carton didn't list any weird ingredients. He was on his second one when Chat Noir sat down next to him.

“So, you’re a hero in your world too?” He asked.

“Yep! Well, I’m still in training, but I have a provisional hero license, so I can use my quirk during emergencies,”

“Wait, a hero license? So you tell the government your full legal name?”

“Yeah, that’s how it’s been for years. There’s no need to a secret identity, like Mr. Parker says he does back in his home world. I guess you have one too?”

Chat Noir nodded. “Yeah. I wasn’t Chat Noir when I first arrived here, but I thought this was an akuma attack and changed. But this more detailed than any akuma I’ve ever seen,”

“Akuma?”

“Oh, those are the creatures we, me and Ladybug, fight. They’re born out of negative feelings and corrupt people into monsters,”

“And they can do something like take you to a different dimension?”

“Maybe? There was one that allowed you to manipulate time, but I didn’t really know how that one worked. If it weren’t for Ladybug, I’d be stuck in a time loop for sure,”

“You’ve mentioned Ladybug, is she your friend?”

“She is! She’s also my partner, we take down akumas together and she’s the best at everything. No matter what situation we’re in, she always finds a way to save the day,”

“Wow, she sounds amazing,”

“She is. One time-” For the rest of breakfast, Chat Noir talked about Ladybug. It would be rude to ask him to stop, so Izuku sat through it all. Is this what it felt like to other people when he talked about All Might?

After breakfast, they got back to work on the boats. By the time the last oar was made, the sun was far overhead.

“Let’s go!” Weiss said. She was on the first raft they built, along with the rest of her housemates. They pushed off from the beach and started sailing away. Izuku was still on the beach, watching as they sailed closer and closer to the buoys.

“Do you think they’ll get across?” He asked out loud.

“We’re about to find out,” Mr. Peter said.

They were almost at the buoys now, less than a foot away. The boat moved closer and

Crack! The boat broke apart, the wood turning into splinters and the webs dissolving. Everyone fell into the water.

“Help help I can’t swim!” Felica yelled.

“Shoto!” Izuku yelled.

“On it,”

Shoto was already running to the ocean, and made an ice bridge to get to them, with Izuku, Bakugo, and Mr. Peter running behind.

Finn was already pulling himself onto the ice bridge, but the rest were still in the water. Luckily, it looked like Chat Noir and Weiss knew how to swim, but Felicia was still flailing around.

Izuku jumped into the water and swam towards her. He grabbed hold of her hand, but she was still struggling, and he was beginning to be pushed down too.

Someone grabbed him by his collar and lifted both him and Felicia out of the water. They were pulled onto the ice bridge, and Izuku took a deep breath of air.

“Shitty Deku! We learned how to help drowning people in class, why’d ya jump in like that!” Bakugo yelled.

“Sorry, Kachan, I wasn’t thinking,”

“You’re a nerd, thinking is what you’re supposed to do!”

“Shut up!” Weiss yelled. “That doesn’t matter right now,” She was kneeling next to Felicia, who was on her back coughing up water. Mr. Peter was doing compressions on her chest.

Cough cough spat. Felicia spat the rest of the water out and then took a deep breath.

“Are you okay?” Weiss asked.

“I’m okay.” Felicia said with a strained voice, but she already had a smile on her face. “Thanks for saving me,”

“It’s no problem, I’m a hero after all,” Izuku said.

“What happened?” Chat Noir asked. “Everything was going fine, then the boat broke out of nowhere,”

“We can’t leave the island.” Shoto said. “I’ve tried creating an ice bridge, but past the buoys it stopped working,”

“So we’re just stuck here forever?” Weiss asked.

“Not forever,” Mr. Peter said. “But we haven’t found a way to leave yet,”

That didn’t seem to reassure her, or anyone. Mr. Peter said he had been trapped in a strange dimension before and escaped, but what if that wouldn’t happen here? What if they were truly trapped here forever?

Notes:

I know the ending is similar to the ending of chapter 3, but this chapter was very long.

Notes:

Sorry for being gone for so long, I was kept busy with final projects and Tomodachi Life.
