Chapter Text
“Why aren’t you celebrating with the others?”
A familiar voice spoke from behind Heeseung. He couldn’t believe what he saw.
“What are you doing here?”
Sunoo.
How long has it been since we last spoke?
Heeseung thought he was dreaming. Everything about it was surreal. The left over adrenaline rush still surging in his body, the weird and secluded area they’re in, then the fact that Sunoo looked ever so slightly different than how he remembered. Heeseung’s eyes couldn’t focus.
Sunoo handed him a bouquet. The wrapping paper was red, the colour Sunoo said reminded him of Heeseung the most. It was a mix of lilies, lavenders, peonies, alongside red and white roses. Heeseung held it in his left hand.
“Thank you.”
Will this be another piece of you that I will hold on to?
Heeseung couldn’t look away from Sunoo.
“You changed your hair.”
His hair was pin straight and black, in it’s natural state.
“Yea, it felt like the right time.”
Sunoo kept looking at Heeseung as if he wanted to say something, and yet he couldn’t find the words.
“…did you like my performance?” Heeseung broke the silence for him.
“You never told me you were such a good singer.”
“You never asked.”
Sunoo smiled softly. “I was crying at some point.” He reached his hand out towards Heeseung’s free hand and held the tips of his fingers, hesitating for a moment, before holding him by the palm.
“You know who the song is about, don’t you?” Heeseung held up Sunoo’s hand to his mouth and gave it a light peck.
“Ah, stop it or I’ll cry again.” Sunoo wrapped his arms around Heeseung’s face, caressing him. “I wanted to see you.”
“I wanted to see you too.” Heeseung smiled. “I kept trying to find your face in the audience.”
Heeseung finally noticed what made Sunoo seem different. His eyes were more sunken. His lips weren’t as glossy. His freckles and moles were completely visible. It was the first time Heeseung saw his bare face.
“Sunoo-ya.”
“Hmm?”
“You’re beautiful.”
Before he knew it, Sunoo leaned in and kissed him. Heeseung kissed him back. It felt different from the first time they did it. He was so gentle and warm, never pressing his lips against Heeseung’s too harshly. And the touch of his fingers lit up something inside. He wanted to melt into Sunoo. So much that Heeseung didn’t pull away, he simply waited for Sunoo to be finished.
“Heeseung,” Sunoo stopped, “I came here to ask you something.” he stepped back and held Heeseung’s hand again.
“What is it?”
“Are you seeing anyone right now?”
Heeseung shook his head. “No.”
“Well, neither am I.” Sunoo cleared his throat. “Are you doing anything after this?”
“No.”
“Do you still like me?”
“I love you, Sunoo.”
“I- I love you, too.” Sunoo’s face turned red. “But, there’s still so much about you I don’t know. And so much about me I want you to know.”
Heeseung looked at Sunoo fondly, fiddling with the ring on Sunoo’s hand.
“What I’m trying to say is, why don’t we start over?”
“I would like that.”
Heeseung wrapped his hands around Sunoo’s waist. They looked at each other.
“Heeseung, will you go on a date with me?”
“Of course I will.”
He brushed Sunoo’s bangs aside and kissed his forehead.
“Where are we going, then, Sunoo?” Heeseung asked.
Sunoo smiled, “This time, I want to eat at your favorite place.”
