Chapter Text
December 18th, 2025 – São Paulo
The sun was sinking over the São Paulo skyline. Mizrak blinked against the light as he carried the two cups to the seating area. He had once thought that Olrox had robbed him of the sun forever when he turned him. Thanks to UV filters, he now had an indescribable view.
Olrox had already made himself comfortable on the sofa. Feet stretched out on the ottoman, a bridal fashion catalogue and a pen in his hands. Two more stacks of catalogues lay on the table. As so often when they planned to spend the night at home, he hadn't bothered to get dressed. Mizrak himself was at least wearing linen trousers.
Slowly he let his gaze travel over Olrox. Starting at his feet, up along his legs and further. Had they not just had sex before getting up, he would have been seriously tempted to start another round. Since they had already been extensively "celebrating" their engagement over the last few days, however, they had agreed to finally get around to planning the actual wedding tonight.
"Like what you see?" Olrox asked, amused, pulling Mizrak out of his observation.
Caught, he felt heat rise to his cheeks, but he composed himself. "Always." He handed Olrox his coffee. "Unfortunately we have to deal with planning now." He set his own cup on the coffee table and sat down beside Olrox. As if it were the most natural thing in the world, Olrox put his arm around him. Still holding the pen. Mizrak leaned into him.
"What do you think of something like this?" He pointed to a suit model. He had drawn more elaborate cuffs on it in ballpoint pen and added further details. "Though I'm leaning more toward lavender than white."
Mizrak tilted his head slightly and tried to imagine that the model wasn't a white man with blond hair and blue eyes, but Olrox. "It suits you." He nodded toward the phone on the table. "Have you texted Adrian yet?"
Olrox nodded. "He hasn't replied yet. He's probably busy."
"Mm," Mizrak said, to show he'd heard. He reached for the catalogue and turned the page. No wonder Olrox had been drawing in it. Most of the models were… boring. He leafed through at his leisure until he came across a suit that appealed to him. "I like this one. But without the cap." Someone had thought it a good idea to put a flat cap on the man wearing the suit. "And I think…" Mizrak hesitated. The thought had been with him for the last few days, but he hadn't voiced it yet. "I think I'd like to wear white."
Olrox raised his eyebrows and looked at him sideways. "White?"
Mizrak's cheeks burned, but he nodded and met his beloved's gaze. "I know neither of us has much claim to innocence anymore, but… I gave my innocence into your hands back then, and now I'd like to do so officially."
The eyebrows climbed a fraction higher. For once, Mizrak had surprised him. The surprise gave way to something else. Olrox laid his hand against his cheek and kissed him softly. "Thank you," he whispered. Something fluttered in Mizrak's stomach. His hand found Olrox's thigh as if of its own accord.
The doorbell rang and called him back to order. They wanted to plan. They needed to plan, if they didn't want to show up to the registry office in sackcloth and ashes — and he knew perfectly well that was out of the question for Olrox.
Olrox kissed him once more. "I think that's my order." He detached himself and went to the elevator.
"You ordered something?" Mizrak turned slightly so he could rest his arm on the back of the sofa and follow his beloved with his eyes. The silky cascade of his hair fell down his back to just above his backside, where Mizrak's gaze lingered.
"I did." Olrox looked at the security camera. "Very good." He pressed the button that would let the delivery person into the elevator and bring them to the right floor. About a minute later the doors opened.
The courier's eyes widened. His gaze flickered downward for the briefest moment before he stared fixedly at Olrox's face. Olrox acted as though he hadn't noticed — but Mizrak could practically hear him laughing inwardly. He signed for the delivery and took the discreetly printed paper bag. He turned and pressed the button for the elevator. Before the doors closed, Mizrak saw the courier's gaze drift downward again.
A stab of jealousy shot through him, and for a moment he had to fight back the urge to go for the courier's throat.
The man couldn't help it that Olrox so enjoyed shocking those around him.
"I have a gift for you."
Mizrak looked up at Olrox, who had knelt beside him on the sofa and was holding out the bag. Now it was his turn to raise his eyebrows in surprise.
"A gift?" Had they agreed at some point to exchange gifts and he'd forgotten? He took the bag. "I haven't got anything for you."
Olrox smiled. "When you open it, you'll know what you can give me."
What on earth had he ordered? Mizrak reached into the bag. A gift wrapped in dark green paper appeared. Clearly a book. Large format. Hardcover. Mizrak spared himself the question of whether they didn't already have enough books. Olrox was evidently of a different opinion.
He pulled the ribbon loose and carefully peeled away the tape. A white matte cover with a high-gloss photograph appeared. Two naked men in a sensual embrace. The title was also printed in gloss.
Mizrak looked at Olrox, who couldn't have looked more pleased with himself. "You're giving me a Kama Sutra for gay couples?"
Olrox slid a little closer so their shoulders were touching. He ran his fingers over the cover and Mizrak felt it as though it weren't the book he was touching. "I'd like to try number eight."
How was he supposed to keep the book closed after that? Mizrak leafed through it. It wasn't just a book of positions. There were long passages of text about sensuality and seduction, partnership and philosophy. The positions themselves took up only a small portion. Mizrak turned to number eight. He tilted his head. "Looks manageable."
Olrox let his hand trail seductively across his chest. "When do I get my gift?"
Mizrak caught his hand before it could wander further and shut the book. He closed his eyes to collect himself. "Later. When we're done." Better. He looked at Olrox, who had put on a theatrical pout as though sulking. "We agreed we'd be good today. We need suits and—"
The phone interrupted him with a melodic chime. Olrox sighed. "You're right," he conceded and reached for his phone. He tapped at it and then threw his head back laughing. Without explanation he handed Mizrak the phone. The chat with Adrian was open.
'We're getting married. Will you be our witness?'
'About time. When is the ceremony?'
Mizrak laughed quietly. That was so typical of Adrian. He could practically hear the dry tone in which he would say it. He set the phone back on the table and turned back to Olrox. "So… hors d'oeuvres or sushi for the reception?"
