“ *yawn* Good morning everyone!” Athena says, her greeting was met with the noise of crickets.
“Wow…is no one really up at this hour?”
It is strange, most people in japanifornia wake up at 7am for work, which is an hour behind right now
Anyway, athena decides to watch some cartoons while waiting for everyone else to get up.
After a few minutes, someone is Finally up
“Good morning! *cough*” said trucy, greeting athena with a smile on her face, despite not feeling well.
“Oh hey Trucy, isn’t today a Monday? Why aren’t you at school?”
“I’m very sick…I had a fever of 106° Fahrenheit, had to go to the ER yesterday!” She said, rubbing her forehead as she felt the heat of her body
“Can I see?”
“Sure!”
Athena touches trucy’s forehead, and good lord is it hot as the blazing sun.
“Woah, you weren’t kidding! Are you doing well now?”
“I am! I was prescribed some Tylenol, and it has helped me feel a lot better”
“That’s good to hear!”
“Anyways, why are you here, Athena? Is something up?”
“I just wanted to come over and check up on everyone here, nothing much”
“I see, well…apollo isn’t here yet so you might have to wait a little more”
“You don’t say…Awh man!” Athena says, with a disappointed tone
“It’s alright! I’m sure he’ll be here any mo-”
“Hey guys!” Apollo said, with a big grin across his face
“Hey Polly! Athena said she was looking for you”
“I didn’t say that! At least not directly…”
“We’ll, at least he’s here!”
“So uh…is there something you need my help with, athena?” Apollo said, with confusion
“Well uh…I have a problem” athena says
“What is it?”
“Well…I’ve been dating Juniper for a while, and we decided to go on a date to the local park, BUUUUT I’m not sure what to talk to her about…do you have any idea what people talk about on first dates? I mean…you’ve been dating klavier for a while, and you’ve been on a few dates, surely you know?”
“Well…on our first date, we talked about life stuff, just the usual things, basically how our life has been, what we were up to, etc etc”
“I see…anything else?”
“Not much from what I remember…aside from our own interests, that is”
“I see!” Athena says, taking notes eagerly, and listening very carefully”
“I will try to talk to her about the science of love, maybe that’ll help?”
“Yea, sounds like a good idea, and fits you well!” Apollo says
“Mhm!!” Trucy nods. “The psychology of love is so interesting, I always wonder how my daddies fell in love”
“Yeah, those guys are something else for sure.” apollo says
“Did someone mention science?” Ema says, walking in unannounced
“EMA??” Apollo and Trucy let out a gasp
“Huh..who’s this?” Athena asks, her mind filled with utter confusion
“Oh hey there, the name’s ema, ema skye. I’m a detective at the moment, but I’m working to try and become a forensic scientist”
“I’m athena cykes! Defense attorney, and I also
studied analytical psychology”
“Psychology…I know a thing or two about it, especially forensic psychology”
“Well, we just need regular psychology, if you know about it?”
“Sure, I know the basics. And since you guys were discussing love, I know a thing or two about that”
“I know about it, but I fear I need a little recap, I wanna tell my girlfriend cool facts about love” Athena says
“Sure, let’s go over some basics”
“According to Robert sternberg’s triangular theory of love, it consists of three components:intimacy, passion, and commitment” ema says
“Intimacy is the feeling of connection, closeness, and bonding experienced in a romantic relationship, as things develop, emotional intimacy becomes more significant”
“Uh huh, go on” athena says, with eagerness
“Then we have passion, this involves romantic and physical attraction that people experience when they’re in love.”
“Interesting…” apollo says
“And then we have commitment, which involves wanting to stay with your partner, and people develop shared goals and decide to work towards those.”
“Ooh! This is just like what daddy and papa have” trucy says, with excitement
“Yea, there have been criticism of the theory since everyone experiences love differently, but it seems to hold up for a lot of couples that I’ve met”
“And there’s more to love than meets the eye, as there’s a few that I know about”
“Like what?” Trucy says
“Well there’s Eros, which is a concept that is passionate love driven by intense physical attraction, Erotic lovers tend to pursue beauty and they fall in love fast. and there’s ludus, which uh..let me check again.”
“Oh yeah, ludus! Ludus is playful love, ludic lovers tend to avoid jealousy, keep involvement controlled, and often maintain
multiple short-lives relationships.”
“Then there’s storge, which is love that slowly grows from friendship, mania involves highs and lows, jealousy, needing reassurance, and anxiety about the relationship”
“Agape is selfless love, and agapic lovers prioritize the other lover’s needs, not expecting much in return”
“And finally we have pragma. Pragmatic lovers have a mental shopping list of traits they look for in a partner, they might include physical traits, but it’s different from Eros in the sense that there’s no special emphasis on the physical element.”
“Where did you get all of this information??” Apollo asks
“Wikipedia, my ride or die! Oh, and a friend told me about these as well”
“I see…”
“Did you use Wikipedia to study forensics as well?” Athena asked
“Yea, definitely helped me understand when I was younger”
“Anyways, you can try telling her a thing or two from these, or you can also discuss love languages, those have been debated a little though”
“Really You don’t say?” Trucy said
“Yup, I’m not sure why, but that’s all I remember”
“Anyways, I’m busy with a case, but I thought to stop by for a quick talk, so see you guys later I guess”
“See you later!” the others said
“Okay, that’s a lot we just went through, let’s go over them again” athena says
After they go over the concepts and do research of their own, they reach the conclusion that ema is super knowledgeable, and that they could come to her for advice regarding science.
Afterwards, athena messages juniper to ask her out on a date, for real.
Meanwhile, with juniper:

Juniper’s room >

Juniper sings a song from one of her favorite games, she loves the songs and thinks they’re super gentle, and totally fit her vibe.
She then thinks about Athena, wondering what’s happening with her
“I wonder what thena is up to…”
Juniper is also sick, her asthma has been flaring up since it’s wintertime, and she got to stay home from the academy today.
She then gets a message from athena.
“Huh? I got a message, let me check what it says”
The message reads as follows:
“Hey juni! You said you wanna go on a date to the park, right? Well, I’ve found a really nice place with all sorts of animals, plants and food! I think you’ll love it”
“Ah, hey thena, that sounds rather amazing, I would love to go with you to that park”
“Alright, what time?”
“Hmmm…maybe 3pm? Also, I might have to bring my inhaler, my asthma’s been acting up”
“Awh, hope you feel better soon, juni!”
“Thank you, thena…see you later”
“See you!”
Juniper closes the phone, as she gets ready for her first date ever, she is super excited since she always reads books about romance, but she didn’t expect it to happen to her, at least not like this
“Wow, I can’t believe this is happening to me! It’s just like in the movies…such a fever dream”
It truly feels unreal, this truly can’t be happening, can it? It’s like a dream come true, it’s so wild thst juniper can’t believe it
She never really thought that she’d ever get herself into a romantic relationship with a girl, though she kinda forced the idea of a romantic relationship with a boy onto herself due to societal norms.
“Maybe society’s expectations aren’t that important after all, are they?” She said, while brushing her hair, and she decided to let it down this time
“Hmm…maybe a bit to makeup would help? I’m not sure…”
She decided to put on a bit of eyeliner, and some mascara works too.
“Maybe some lipstick? Hmm…maybe not now.”
“What about some blush? Yes! That’ll look super adorable!”
She decides that it’s just gonna be some quick and simple red blush, since that works best for her
“Hmm…I think this works!”
She has finally finished her make up look, and it’s super incredible.
“Yes! Finally done, thena will love this”
She gets ready to wear her favorite green and yellow dress, themed with sunflowers all over, and she wears her favorite green shoes, themed with little trees
Meanwhile with athena…
“Alright, I think this’ll do!”
She decided to wear her favorite yellow dress, and put on sunflower accessories in her hair, since she thought juniper might love it
“Apollo, how do I look?”
“You look great, Athena”
“Thank you!”
“I think you look great too.” Said Phoenix
“BOSS?? Where did you come from?”
“Haha, just thought to drop by and check up on you all, how have you been, Athena? Are you preparing to meet someone?”
“Yes actually…I’m meeting my childhood friend juniper”
“Friend, huh?”
“Well, girlfriend to be precise”
“Oh really? How did I not know about this?”
“Well..I wasn’t ready, and it took me a while to get there sooo yeah! I’m sorry haven’t told you about it until now, I also wanted it to be a little surprise”
“That’s alright, athena, we forgive you.”
“Thank you, boss!”
“Of course. If you ever need anything, we are always here for you.”
“Alright, I’m now ready! It’s almost time, let’s go and meet up with juni”
“Have fun.”
“Of course!”
< January 18, 3pm
Starry Night’s park >
“Ahh, such a beautiful place! Wait…is that juni?”
“That’s…thena!”
They run to each other, and they hug.
“Thena…how have you been?”
“I’ve been well, what about you? Hopefully your asthma isn’t acting up?”
“Well I am doing better than before, I was prescribed an inhaler not too long ago, so it really helps manage flare ups”
“That’s great to hear! now, is there anything you wanna do at this park?”
“Hmm…I’d love to see the plants and animals first”
“Alright! Let’s head to see those, then we get some food”
“Alrighty!”
They both go to see the ducks and feed them, then they take photos of the lake and trees, and then they grab some ice cream, as well as some French fries and even a few chocolates.
“Hey juni, wanna learn a few things about love?”
“Oh, you mean like science?”
“Yup! I studied analytical psychology after all, I know a few things about love here and there”
“Sure, I’d love to know a thing or two”
She recites what ema told her earlier, and juniper can’t help but be fascinated at athena’s knowledge
Afterwards, they chat about the park and everything they got
“What do you think of the ice cream, juni?”
“It’s great, I really love it!”
“Me too! Banana is usually my favorite, but I also go for a mix of vanilla and chocolate sometimes”
“I really like strawberry and matcha, they’re very good, and also very sweet”
“Is the matcha a little bitter?”
“It is somewhat bitter, but matcha in general is usually bittersweet, so yea”
“I see!”
“Well…what’s your favorite thing to eat in general?”
“Well…I think that would have to be chicken nuggets!! Specifically the dinosaur ones, they’re super tasty!”
“Does their shape determine their taste?”
“Not really…it’s mostly the difference in brand, at least when it comes to the stuff I get”
“I see…”
“Well, why don’t we walk around the park some more?” Athena asks
“Sure! I love it here, I will definitely be coming more often”
“Same, Let’s come here more whenever we can! Promise?”
“Promise!”
They do a little pinky promise, and sure, they’re grown enough to know that things like that don’t mean much, but what can you do when you’re in love?
“Let’s stare at the gorgeous blue sky together, juni!”
“Of course, thena”
They enjoy their time together, and walk around the park a bit more
After a few hours 5pm hits, and both of them have to go home.
They kiss, then wave goodbye at each other, and the next day rolls by.
