Transgender. The word made your stomach turn, not because you're transphobic, but because it felt so you.
It was scary to think about, your moms side was really homophobic towards you when you came out, and every time the conversation switched to trans people, they would berate you in believing in such "nonsense."
Your dads side was more accepting, but your parents split when you were young, and eventually your mom moved to Japan with you and your stepdad. And that's where you met Kusuo Saiki. PK Academy wasn't that big, but the people were something.
When you first arrived, things were chaos, but at least you made some sort of friend group. Saiki was in it, he didn't seem too interested in you, but preferred hanging with you over the others, you weren't head over heals into him and weren't loud. He kinda liked being with you, it was as if he knew what you were.
And he did.
He felt it too.
He got tired of his TV and decided to check yours.
And it was glowing beautifully, so much he couldn't take his eyes off of it.
He became mesmerized.
You noticed he started trying to get closer to you, he would start conversation more often, asking about you. Then he asked you to come over to his place.
You were a little hesitant, but eventually agreed.
Currently, you're both sitting in his room.
"I know what you are." He mutters. "You're just like me."
Surprised, you turn your head, eyes wide.
"Wh-What?" You stutter, "I don't know what you mean.. Do you, even understand me?"
"I understand more than you think. Your TV is glowing, I see the colors."
You gulp, it feels louder than it is. How would he know who you really are? You're always a girl, right? You can't be anything else.
"I can hear your thoughts. They're louder than anything else."
What?
"You...can hear my thoughts? Stop playing. Stop. It's not real..none of this is...I'm a girl, you're delusional.." Your words jumble out, mixed with tears.
Almost at an instant, he hugs you, gentle.
"I wasn't born a man, y'know."
The shock hits you all at once, there's a choice in who you can be?
"I can help you, [Reader/secret chosen name]. I don't want you to be miserable, and you don't want to be either."
You look up at him, and something feels different in your body, he pulls you up by your shoulders, bringing you to his bathroom and showing you to your mirror. You look different, in the best way. You suddenly look more...like you imagined you'd look. You reach your hands up, feeling how flat your chest is, and look back at the mirror. You were smiling without even realizing it, how silly of you, why did you ever think you couldn't choose? Maybe the people around you.
Looking outside, you realize it's getting darker, it's time for you to leave. And your body changes back, Saiki stares at you from the door.
"[Reader], you can't tell anyone about my powers, we'll hang out more often, and I'll let you stay like this until you go back home. Alright?"
You stare back at him, sobbing and smiling.
"Saiki...I promise I won't tell anyone about you, or this. Just..let me be a guy for a little longer in life.."
He nods.
It takes a while for you to calm down, but when you do, he teleports you to your front door, and leaves.
You wonder what things will be like with him, and your TVs new pretty colors.
