Chapter Text
Kaminari was slumped into his seat, resting his chin on his palm and idly twirling a loose strand of yellow hair, when a shout tore through the classroom's silence.
"Holy shit, dude!"
Sero shot up from his seat, eyes glued to his phone and a teasing smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. The action sparked curiosity in Kaminari, who whipped his head around in his seat to watch. Sero crossed the classroom in what Kaminari swore was the speed of light. He displayed his device right in front of Bakugo's face, wiping tears with his free hand. The blonde instinctively backed away from the screen. As expected from a bold move like that, Bakugo wore his usual 'I'm-gonna-blow-this-fucking-school-to-bits' look. He snatched the phone away from the now laughing boy in front of him and glared at it, until…
Bakugo froze. The furrow between his brows smoothed away, and his scowl melted into quiet disbelief, striking Kaminari with even more interest. Denki exited his desk and stood behind Bakugo. He peered over the boy's shoulder and squinted his eyes, adjusting his focus to the text that killed the blonde's movements.

The silence from Bakugo echoed louder than Sero's cackling.
"…W-what," Bakugo's voice finally strained. Kaminari couldn't help it—he tried biting his lips to hold it together near the blonde. But as Bakugo's cheeks slowly turned a bright pink, a snort burst free—then another—until he and Sero were both hunched over and overcome by a fit of uncontrollable laughter.
The phone clattered against Bakugo's desk, but his hand remained frozen as if it were still there. He stared into his palm with empty eyes. By now, other students had walked over and formed a crooked semi-circle around Bakugo's desk, some suppressing giggles with hands clamped over their mouths and others attempting to bring Bakugo back to life. Mina waved her hand in front of his face; her eyes widened a bit when the other didn't smack it away. Mina picked up the phone, sent a knowing look to the redhead beside her, and slammed the device into Kirishima's chest with a wide grin plastered on her face. Kirishima, upon receiving the phone, had his own decent dose of shock before he shook his friend by the shoulders. Bakugo blinked—thankfully.
Kirishima pulled away from him, a light shade of red tinting his cheeks as he adverted his gaze.
"Oh my gosh," Bakugo muttered, mortified and likely embarrassed in spite of his currently locked jaw and gritted teeth. He pinched at the bridge of his nose, grumbling something along the lines of "…fuck'n dead" and "….sticky bitch."
Kirishima let out an awkward chuckle.
"Dude, it's fine, hah! I mean, it's just some fans having fun," Kirishima attempted to flash a reassuring smile to his friend, but it further highlighted his own nervousness. Kaminari took in a stabilizing breath, wiping the last tear off his face, before adding to the conversation.
"More like a whole lotta fans! Like jeez, 38,849?!" Kaminari spread his arms wide to emphasize his statement, as if visuals made anything better.
Sero playfully elbowed Denki, shoulders still shaking lightly. "Heh, who knew they were compatible in the eyes of so many people?" Sero teased, retrieving his phone from Midoriya, who observed the situation while wearing a small smile.
Kirishima rested one hand on the back of his neck while the other fidgeted with the hem of his partially untucked shirt. Mina giggled next to him, whispering something in his ear that made the red dusting his cheeks a darker shade—if that was even possible at this point. He shook his head, probably attempting to ground himself after whatever was fed to his ears, and walked back to his seat. Mina followed suit and settled to continue their "conversation" there. Kirishima didn't stop her.
"Great, you guys scared away Kirishima. What the hell was that shit, Sero?" Bakugo spat.
"He isn't scared, Bakugo," Sero rolled his eyes and traced a heart into the air, "he's in love!"
Giggles crawled up Kaminari's throat again. Seeing Bakugo tense up from the comment alone—acting like a teased middle schooler—was entirely too hilarious. Sero bolted back to his seat after ashy trails of smoke rose into the air. The blonde scoffed and faced Kaminari now, who still struggled to let go of the image stuck in his head. Bakugo was flustered.
Shit. His hands shot up to cover his twitching mouth.
"Tch, whatever." Bakugo closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms.
A light tap on Kaminari’s shoulder prompted him to turn slightly, worried green eyes meeting his.
"Midoriya? What's wrong?" Kaminari lowered his arm, and the laughter in his throat died. Midoriya sighed, so Kaminari raised a brow. Wasn’t he smiling just a moment ago? "Dude, say something."
"I—" Midoriya cut himself off and motioned subtly towards the blonde still in earshot. He leaned into Kaminari and lowered his voice.
"I can't say much here. Speak to me after class, maybe?"
Kaminari nodded tentatively.
The only thing that filled the silence now was the rythmic tapping of his pencil.
Kaminari slouched into his seat—again. He would meet the floor pretty soon if he kept going. In this state, he honestly felt like cheese. Rotting, but still preserved. Except, instead of inside a fancy restaurant, his gradual decay occurred in a classroom with still no teacher.
Of course, Kaminari always appreciated an excuse to delay class time, but to replace it with more boring things—like sitting and doing nothing? That's torture. At least with Aizawa's tired voice droning on in front of him, Kaminari could've used the background noise to quickly zone out. Kaminari pressed harder when the pencil met desk.
"Oi, you gonna keep doing that till you pop a hole in the damn table?"
