Chapter Text
Liko found Amethio waiting for her in the park they had agreed on. Liko, attempting to forget the argument she had with her friends, was determined to help Amethio. She walked towards him carrying a big tote bag.
"Okay, Amethio. The first thing we'll need is catnip."
Amethio nodded. "That makes sense."
Reaching into her bag, Liko presented a bottle of perfume.
Amethio tilted his head, confused. "Liko, I thought you said catnip."
Liko nodded. "That's what this is! Cat Attract!" Without warning, Liko sprayed perfume all over Amethio. Almost as if on cue, a Skitty came running towards Amethio, a female trainer running after it.
The girl picked up her Skitty, apologizing to Amethio.
Liko smiled. "No worries!" Turning to Amethio, she said, "See? You'll attract all the Sprigatito in Paldea!"
Amethio laughed. "Maybe this will work."
"The second thing you need is Kitty Kibble!" Liko shook a shaker bottle full of tiny brown rocks. "And, my Sprigatito loves green tea cakes. So, maybe yours will too!"
Amethio looked from the perfume to the kibble to the Patisserie Soapberry bag. Liko was determined to help him.
"Thanks again, Liko."
"Of course! I'll get you an A+ on your project!"
"Project?" Amethio asked, confused.
"Don't remember? Your project to catch a Sprigatito!"
Amethio smacked his forehead. "Right, I have so many I can't remember all of them."
Liko just laughed. "Now, let's get you that Sprigatito."
--
Amethio and Liko walked through the park, passing kids younger than them playing fetch with their Yamper, and some silly Aipom playing keep-away with a boy's backpack. After a wild Meowth had come up to him again, Amethio reached into her tote bag to take a closer look at her perfume bottle.
Before he could move away, Liko slipped her hand into his, making heat rise to his cheeks. He gripped the Pokeball in his other hand, praying they would never see a Sprigatito.
--
"Liko?" a familiar voice called. Liko froze, knowing exactly who it was. I forgot they always come to this park after schoool, Liko thought in horror.
She whipped around to see Roy, his arms crossed and face annoyed.
"Liko, what is he doing here?"
