It was the middle of the night and Kami found himself sleepless.
Was this a dream?
Was this a video game?
Was this..
Reality?
It was stupid to think this.
Why would this be his reality?
He fell back onto the bed, his head in his hands. ‘What the fuck man..’
As he laid there absolutely WRECKING his brain over what was going on he heard footsteps outside his room- ‘Huh? Who could possibly be up at this hour?’
Well- hour.. He didn’t know the time.
The lights were off, apparently that meant night?
He also felt as if it was night….
Strange. A very strange place.
The footsteps stopped at his door though, stopped for a bit and then started walking away again.
At that point though, Kami had gotten up and opened up the door as he wanted to know who that was–he came to face Gackt.
His feathers glowed ever so slightly in the dark, like an angel in a sense..
It was still very confusing though…. “Er..Gackt?” Gackt definitely hadn’t noticed him before and froze.
Slowly, he turned around with an expression on his face much like a cat ( right? those animals? ) who had just been caught with his paw in the fishbowl; “Kami!”
“Gackt, why were you here?”
“Er.. No reason.”
Gackt tried to walk off again, yet Kami grabbed his ‘arm.’ ( Atleast, he hoped the limb served as such.. )
“No.. You had a reason.”
Gackt sighed. “I shouldn’t have woken you up…”
“No, you didn’t!”
“I- still..” Gackt tried excusing himself but it only worked the wrong way as Kami pulled him inside his room.
“Sit.”
Gackt obliged and sat down, still looking quite like a cute animal. “Soo.. What did you want to talk about?”
Kami went to sit next to him.
“I just-” Gackt sighed; “I wanted to apologize..”
Apologize?
“For what?”
“You know.. All that stuff in the last adventure.”
Kami tried to look at Gackt but found the other man unwilling to face him.
Kami opened and closed his mouth looking for an answer yet none came to face him, “What do you mean..?”
“You know.. What I did back there..” Gackt was desperately trying to avoid the wording, “Act?” Kami asked to which the feathered one shook his head.
“I mean the part where I forced you to kiss me.”
‘Forced? What on earth is this guy on about?’
Kami sat there pondering for a bit, before it all finally clicked..
“Oohh…”
“I shouldn’t have done that, I’m sorry.”
Kami wasn’t fully sure how to react, and just started laughing.
“Eh..?”
That seemed to confuse Gackt a LOT, apparently.
“We were acting, you dumbfuck!”
“I know, It still sucked though..”
“Wasn’t it that or consequences?” Kami grinned and put an arm around Gackt, who started to smile too. “I guess so..”
“Don’t worry about it, Gakkun.”
After some time Gackt finally left and Kami started to notice an ache. An all too recognizable ache.
He suddenly remembered something, although it felt more like getting punched in the stomach as he had tried SO hard to forget this experience..
Fear. He was so afraid. He was genuinely so incredibly afraid of that version of himself, the version he had tried to suppress for too long.
And he’d keep suppressing it. He’d keep suppressing until it went away;
‘If it does..’
No. stop.
It had to go, for all the effort he put in this it HAD TO DISAPPEAR. Right?
….
Kami did not sleep anymore that ‘night’.
