axolotl queen pov:
I lay on my bed, scrolling mindlessly through Pinterest. My younger (by twenty-four minutes) brother doing the same thing in his room, which is connected to mine by a jack and jill bathroom in between.
Suddenly i feel the weight shift on my bed and sit up to see my baby brother sitting at the foot of my bed. "Sup?" I question in confusion "hey." He mumbles. I put my phone down and sit up fully. "What is it." I know somethings wrong, he's my twin after all. "Well scott-" he starts, Grian bursts in, cutting him off. "I'm BORED." he sighs dramatically, sitting down in front of my bed. Pearl follows suit, but sits next to me instead. "What's with the meeting in my room??" I ask, then of course Martyn joins, sitting next to G. "Okay, really? I'm trying to rant here!" Jim complains, glaring only towards Grian and Martyn. "Then rant to us." Pearl shrugs. Jimmy groans. "But G and Martyn are gonna make fun of me!!" Which is definitely true, but give them a chance. "I'll tell an embarrassing story too if it makes you feel better!" Grian offers. "...fine." Jimmy mumbles, curling up a bit. "So, scott was flirting with me and, i may or may not have made a move, and it got dirty-" He starts, Grian had now moved in front of Pearl for her to braid his hair. "....and maybe I went too far because he stopped me and told me he was on his period.." he pauses, we all keep listening. "And now I feel really bad and, ugh, i dunno." He finishes quietly. "Jim, you didn't go too far, I'm sure scott didn't mind." I reassure. "Scott is the dirtiest person ever, c'mon Timmy the man will be fine." Martyn...also reassures. In his own, more teasing, way. "I know Scott. He will not be uncomfortable and would've stopped you sooner if he was." Pearl reminds him.
Jimmy sighs in relief. "..okay. Your turn, G?" Grian sputters awkwardly "well- do i really have too? I mean- i- didn't make fun of you?" Martyn raises an eyebrow. "Oh? Embarrassed now??" He questions, Pearl is occupied by the complicated braid, but, she probably also is suspicious of the parrot. "Gri, what have you done?" Pearl jokes, but Grian covers his face "uuuggghhh.." I laugh quietly "Oh, what happened with Scar now?" Martyn leans over to Grian teasingly. "You always know it's about Scar! C'mon, man..." Grian looks up, glaring at Martyn playfully. "Oh? Mumbo? Who?!" I ask. "Not mumbo! It's something embarrassing from a while ago i never told you guys. And Scar is maybe a factor." He dismisses my suspicion. "Okay, well tell us!" Jim grills. "Okay, okay! I maybe figured out how to rig the spin the bottle so I could be in there with Scar." He confesses. "Pffft, cute." Pearl giggles, laying the strands of Grian's dirty blonde hair over each other.
"Anyways, hows the cafe going, pearlo?" Grian changes the topic casually. "Good! Cleo's trying to come up with some specials for summer, like pool floatie donuts." Pearl mentions, tying the end of Grian's braid. "Fun! What about like a cupcake with gummy bears or something at the beach!" Jimmy brainstorms excitedly, picturing different summer-y baked goods. "Mermaid tail cake pops?" I add. "Write these down!" Martyn reminds her. Pearl pulls out her phone to text these to her cafe group chat. "Ocean themed jello?" Martyn continues, hopping up onto my bed to peak over Pearls shoulder. "Got anymore ideas, Ocean queen?" Grian jokes, also crowding around Pearl, Jimmy going behind Pearl to peak at her phone as well. "Uhmmm..." I click my tongue, trying to think of any other ideas. "Kelp something or other? Like instead of matcha pretend its kelp?" I suggest, shrugging while Pearl types the idea. We all continue to brainstorm some ocean and summer themed desserts while taking turns braiding each other's hair and writing down the ideas.
