"Hey simon dont cry" ryland says before quickly standing up and heading towards him
Simon didn't mean to cry he just never had a experience of someone wanting him, ryland has been nothing but kind and understanding already this was just reaffirming everything some sick part of himself always thought that ryland was just pretending he might need therapy
FUCK hes still sobbing this is pathetic he shouldn't be crying he should jus-
"Its alright simon" he felt rylands arms wrap around him slowly, Simon couldn't help but hug back his eyes still stung and his throat felt clogged
"Here how about you sit down" grace said softly before leading him across the hall to Ryland's room which was closer
"You can sit down...if you want just whatever is more comfortable" ryland stammers a little
Simon sits down unsure if ryland was going to sit next to him eventually he felt the mattress dip a bit next to him
"Do you want to talk about it" ryland carefully speaks
"I dont know" simon says before learning back ryland follows after him, it was just them two laying down on graces bed both their legs where off the edge
"Its just that your the first person to care about me like this....you didnt even hesitate to help me" simon choked out this was embarrassing he knew ryland wouldn't judge him but it was going to change how ryland saw him
"Simon i need you to listen to me" ryland suddenly spoke before continuing "you told me that you wanted to be there for me and I want to do the same with loralei gone am scared and..and you make me feel better in so much ways i cant describe" ryland said softly his tone making simons brain malfunction
"I like you ryland I really really like you" simon said before his brain could stop him he looks over that ryland and he looks...sad
"I cant do that to you simon" ryland sighs
"What do you mean" simon questions
"I mean that you deserve someone to have a family with, i dont even know if you want kids or not plus you deserve someone that can focus 100% on you i really like you too but.." ryland sits up while sounds like hes on the brink of tears
"You like me too?" Simon says with hope in his voice and sits up
"Well yeah bu-"
Simon grabs the back of his head gently and kisses him before pulling away
"Am so sorry I didnt realize i-i" this time ryland cuts him off by kissing him and pinning him to the mattress before pulling back to catch his breath
"Ryland am the one who doesn't deserve you" simon gasps before pulling him back in
Simon has lived a pretty long life almost 3 decades and out of all those years this is the best he's ever felt ryland breaks contact for air again and puts his face in the crook of simons neck leave kisses on the side of simons cheek and neck rylands neck was exposed and simon nibbled a little bit of it
Ryland let out a small noise once he feels simon leaving a possible hickey before ryland suddenly pulls away
"I shouldn't be doing this" ryland suddenly says
"Why did I do something wrong" simon was panicking how could he frick this up (rylands no swearing rule caught on to him every now and then)
"No its just that loralei just got taken i feel like a horrible parent for doing this so fast" ryland sighed
"We don't have to do this right now if you don't want too" simon reassures he didn't want to put a lot of pressure on ryland
"But I do want this but I don't I just don't know" Ryland buries his face in the crook of Simon's neck in confusion...or anger? This was confusing
"Hey its fine I still gotta pick up stuff from my apartment" Simon knew he was going to get evicted sooner or later but he thought by then he would of had if figured out by then but at least he has a place to sleep
"I'll go with you" ryland suddenly blurts out
"That sounds nice" simon smiles

"My names lucy and my so excited to have a new roommate the two other kids share a room and don't like me so ive been alone anyways whats your name" the girl talked 100 miles per minute
"Am loralei" the room was pretty empty besides a few lived in signs Lorelei never minded empty rooms until she had a room just to herself
"Oh my god BOTH our names start with L this is the best day over" Lucy jumps
If loralei had one word to describe lucy it would be "enthral" her energy was a lot for loralei but it still captured all her attention even when she tried to ignore it lucy was dressed with bright colors with long straight black hair
Loralei just threw her bag on the bed and sat down suddenly the door was pushed open and two kids peaked in one with short wavy brown hair and the other with red short hair
"Crispy whats the new girls name " the red haired boy asks Loralei needed to stop meeting bullied kids this is the second one
"Her name is loralei" Lucy says this annoyed loralei a bit because she's sitting right in front of them also
"Dont talk to her" the red haired boy says directly to loralei this time before turning on his heel and leaving with the brown haired boy following behind him with an uncomfortable expression closing the door behind him
"UGHHH there so rude" lucy says falling face flat on her bed
"Who even are they" loralei already knew she was going to hate it hear, she missed dylan the guy did talk a lot but at least he could tell when she wasn't in a talking mood
"The red haired one was ace and the other one was benji" lucy groans
Suddenly the door opens again (ever heard of knocking) it was ms Estelle
"I hope your settling in nicely" her voice sent shivers down loraleis spine
"I heard your last guardian was a doctor did you learn anything" ms Estelle gave loralei a stare that felt like she was trying to burn her with lasers
"Uh yeah I learned a lot" Loralei shrugged
"Stellar you have a welcoming party tomorrow at 6pm there's going to be lots of scientists go impress them the maid will leave you some clothes to try on and you can just burn your old rags" ms Estelle smiled....never mind henry now seems like the better one out of the two loralei hears Estelle's heels click down the hallway and lucy sighs
"Mr Henry is the boss of some private schools and to ms Estelle having foster kids helps with publicity not to mention if their smart its definitely going to help" lucy seems a bit down by this fact
The sun was already down by now and she just wanted to go to bed loralei started to unpack reminding herself that it was only temporary over and over again
"So your old guardian was a dr?" Lucy chimes
"Yes" loralei didn't feel like talking much especially because the mention of grace made her miss him more
"Was he nice" Lucy questioned
"He was the nicest" loralei said sincerely
"How was it like" lucy suddenly changes the topic
"How was what like" loralei questions
"To have a family like that am assuming you had another guardian like a mom or foster siblings" lucy wonders
"It was just him and me and it was nice....he had people he knew but most of the time it was just us two" Lorelei recalls
"Who else was there" lucy seemed persistent on knowing a lot about loralei
"I really don't want to talk right now" waiting a month to get back home was starting to seem harder then she thought Lorelai finished her nighttime routine before throwing herself in bed (yeah she still had the plush grace gave her when she first arrived but she can somewhat kick ass if anyone says shit so its fine)
Lucy is still doing some stuff but it doesn't matter to loralei she just missed home after tossing and turning for a bit she finally drifted off into a dreamless sleep
