Chapter Text
It was well past midnight as six members of the somewhat infamous 1-A polycule huddled together in the dark, while Ochako slept close by, buried under pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals.
“What’s the status, Tsu?” Mina said, a serious look on her usually cheerful face.
“I think we should change up our schedule, kero.” Tsuyu said, nodding at her own words. “We all knew Ochako’s been dealing with some self destructive tendencies, but I got her to open up more, and she admitted to some pretty serious feelings of inadequacy regarding belongings and finances. What’s the current schedule?”
Momo spoke up, turning on her phone to show the original plan, placed in her notes app under the title ‘Ochako Fanclub: Cheer Up Babygurl Rescue Mission’. “Tomorrow, Mina was going to take her out dancing and partying, and then after that, Izumi would spar with her and give her some of those famous Deku speeches that our Izumi is so famous for, and on Friday, we’d finish off by having me take the sugar baby to the mall and buy her everything that she even looks at with some amount of interest. Is that plan out of commission?”
“No, no, I think all those activities would be good, but we should edit the order. The shopping spree should be tomorrow, so that she can feel more comfortable in her own room as soon as possible. Plus, while we’re out, we can let her pick out good training and dancing gear, so the other plans will also be benefitted by it, kero.”
“Do you think the plan is working?” Kyouka asked, twirling one of her jacks in her finger, a nervous tick of hers. “I know I came up with it, but I mostly only gave her a pep-talk at the supermarket, since the first day was all about planning. Hoopefully it doesn't make her feel like some of us care less about her than others.”
Tooru patted Kyouka’s back, nuzzling their cheeks together. “She looked really happy eating that mochi when you both got back, and we wouldn’t have even known things were this bad if not for your super hearing! Helping Ocha’ is a team effort that all of us are doing our best at! She totally seemed calmer after we went on the ferris wheel, and look at how cozy she is tonight thanks to all of Tsu’s work!” Tooru waved her sleeve in the general direction of Ochako, who was passed out holding a pillow to her chest, mumbling something in her sleep. "We can't worry about the size of our contributions, the end goal is a happy Ochako, not a perfectly even split!"
“Alright then!” Izumi said, looking up from the notebook she had been writing training strategies in. “Sounds like a plan. When Ochako wakes up in the morning, Yao-Momo takes her out on the shopping spree. Then on Friday, Mina takes her dancing, and on Saturday, we wrap it up with my training, and after we come back from training, everybody dogpiles Ochako in a mountain of love?”
The girls all let out various exclamations of approval, before snuggling up in blankets around Ochako, needing to get their beauty sleep for the plan to go off without a hitch.
—
Ochako didn’t really get why she and Momo had to leave the Heights Alliance so early in the morning, but she didn’t mind too much. It was hard to be annoyed about such a thing when it came with the promise of some new overcomplicated date that had been planned by her uncomfortably wealthy girlfriend.
They had started their day with Ochako being brought to a classy restaurant for breakfast, where she had ordered a simple miso soup, only to be blown practically to the moon at just how absurdly tasty it was. How did someone even make miso soup taste that good!? Either way, she had a full stomach and a satisfied smile on her face as Momo led her to the biggest mall in the city.
Once they had arrived at the mall, Momo opened her wallet, and handed Ochako a credit card and a wad of bills. “My lovely gravity goddess~” Momo flirted, her elegant voice making the brunette shiver. “This is a brand new credit card. We are not leaving this mall until it is either maxed out, or there is genuinely nothing else in this entire building that interests you. The cash is just in case there’s any stores that don’t accept card.”
Okay, wait, what. Ochako had been prepared to be spoiled beyond any level she was used to, but this was absurd. This was in fact beyond absurd. This was freaking LUDICROUS! “What do you mean you’re giving me a credit card to purposefully max out!? How rich is your family!?!?”
“...” Momo counted on her fingers, squinting her eyes as she tried to find the information in her mind. “I believe my parents’ net worth was somewhere in the twenty trillions last I checked, but they’ve purchased some new companies in recent weeks, so it may have risen above thirty trillion.”
“That is- Entirely too much money.” Ochako decided, her eye twitching at the comical amount of cash that could only exist in a slice of life AU where the tone isn’t serious enough to worry about the economy crashing. “Are you sure you haven’t been laundering money for your parents with your quirk?”
Momo gasped, seeming genuinely somewhat hurt. “Ochako! I would never! You know I am a law abiding citizen! And anyways, even if I were to try and create the maximum possible output of bills with my quirk all day and night nonstop, I would still be a less efficient profit maker than what the Yaoyorozu corporation naturally makes. Don’t think too hard about the monopoly my family has on several entire industries, I’d rather just let you enjoy the benefits of it!”
As soon as the credit card entered Ochako’s hands, the first thing she did was open her phone and prepare to tell her parents to use it for their bills, but Momo stopped her. “Don’t worry, Ochako my dear. I’ve already bought your family a nice three bedroom house not too far from where they were currently living. I’ve thought ahead and made sure that you can’t self-sacrifice your way out of this one!”
Once again, Ochako was reminded of the fact that Momo was ranked the smartest in the class for a reason. Though her brains and her super-versatile quirk both paled in comparison to the strongest superpower of all: Money. The fact that she got to have all three was just unfair, in Ochako's opinion.
With no other excuses she could come up with that wouldn’t just end with Momo finding ways to drop more cash on Ochako, the gravity user decided she might as well get to splurging. There was no getting out of it, and she had to admit…
She was starting to realize that she maybe didn’t mind the special treatment.
—
Ochako had ultimately decided that she would start at the furniture store, with Momo’s encouragement that her room deserved an upgrade.
Her purchases were fairly simple at first, shelves, a nice desk chair, a better bed, that sort of thing. Momo seemed to think that Ochako’s bed had to be even fancier, but even with all the money in the world, the gravity hero still had certain fashion tastes, and canopies with silk curtains were not anything except silly looking in her opinion.
Though, as the shopping spree went on, Ochako found that… It was rather exhilarating to be able to buy whatever she wanted. Was this how rich people felt all the time? No wonder they were mostly all mad with power!
She bought herself a new rug, pretty pink pillows and sheets, a space heater, a better AC, and she hadn’t even made it halfway to the card’s limit, she wasn’t even close! After that, she went to the tech-y store, and picked up a big flatscreen TV, a nicer phone, an electronic tea-pot and hot-plate, a mini-fridge, and a game console with seven controllers and a bunch of neat looking games, and somehow there was still nowhere near a limit being approached! Momo refused to tell Ochako exactly how much money the card actually had available, only giving vague hints about the status of the card before it declined.
The next place they ended up stopping was the clothing store. It was a spot that Ochako had never before been to, and was rather intimidated by. When she and her parents talked about going to a clothing store, they meant the thrift shop, not some classy fashion spot.
Ochako was fully caught up in the fun of it all at this point though, and with next to no prompting, she was convinced to step inside and have a fashion show with Momo as her only audience member.
—
“A-Alright Momo! I’m coming out now!” Ochako had never worn anything ‘fashionable’ before, and felt totally out of her depth. She was extremely fond of the color pink, so that was where she started.
Stepping out of the changing booth and into the small room that was connected to it, Ochako spun around a bit, twirling the skirt of a shoulder-less floral pink dress she was trying out. It was a fairly elastic material, one that hugged her curves in a similar way to her hero costume, showing off a portion of cleavage that she was normally too embarrassed to do anything with. It was by no means a revealing outfit, but just about any skin showing was more than she normally did. It was… comfortable. She liked wearing something frilly and fitted for her, instead of the usually too-tight hand-me-downs that she usually wore.
Momo made it clear she approved as well, lifting a hand to cup around one side of her mouth, giving a somehow very regal and respectful wolf whistle. “You look excellent, Ochako! Absolutely gorgeous!” Giving a gentle golf clap, the ravenette smiled kindly while Ochako’s already darker-toned cheeks flushed in a deep blush.
“E-eeh? You really like it that much?” Ochako spun around again, basking in the praise while Momo only clapped harder, her eyes showing genuine adoration. “If that’s the case then…” Rushing back into the changing closet, Ochako put the floral dress in the “Buy” pile, alongside some new socks and undergarments that she had picked out for more practical reasons. Pulling on a new outfit, Ochako jumped out again, smiling more confidently. “How about this?”
This outfit was similarly pink, but instead of being a dress, it was more akin to fashionable streetwear. Baggy jeans with some small pink stars embroidered around the pockets, while she wore a white tee-shirt that had more pink stars printed along its front. Around her neck hung a pink fluorite necklace that glittered a bit under the light.
Ochako’s girlfriend just made it more apparent that she was in full support of the outfits, applauding without shame as her eyes shone brighter than the necklace did. “Bravo, Ochako! You look so wonderful like this as well, ready to hit the town and turn heads!”
The brunette’s whole face was red at this point, as she stumbled back into the changing room, her eyes settling on something she had grabbed just in case, having not been sure if she’d be comfortable trying it on, but this was going so well so far, and she wanted to make an effort.
Tooru’s words echoed in her mind. “-but if you ever want to try, I’d love to see the rest of your spots and stripes!” Tooru herself wasn’t going to be the person to see the outfit first if Ochako tried it on now, but the sentiment still remained. Ochako didn’t want to be stuck in school uniforms and swim-leotards. She needed to step out of her comfort zone if she ever wanted to internalize all the body positivity she was being bombarded with!!!
—
Momo Yaoyorozu wasn’t sure what she should be expecting from the next outfit, but whatever she had thought it might be, as Ochako pulled open the curtain, Momo was very glad that her predictions had been wrong, because this was better.
The curvy goddess standing before the heiress had Momo’s poor little lesbian heart beating out of her chest. Ochako was wearing a two piece swimsuit, in similar pink colors to what she had been doing already, but the swimsuit itself wasn’t really the focus.
No one in the polycule—not even Izumi—had gotten to see this much of Ochako’s body before. The woman hadn’t covered her stomach at all, her thighs and upper arms exposed as well, and while she was totally tomato-faced, she didn’t seem uncomfortable. Her stomach was totally exposed, a largely pale tummy, with a few messy splotches of tan skin that showed off more of her ‘true’ skin color. Stretch marks also adorned her waist, and some scars littered her body as well, not as much as Izumi had, but more than Momo had gotten so far in her time at UA.
As Momo’s quirk relied on her skin being in excellent condition to produce the most high quality creations possible, she had studied just about every skin condition that a human could have, to ensure that she could self-diagnose if she were to develop anything later in life. Because of that, she could recognize Ochako’s condition to specifically be Universal Vitiligo, one of the rarer forms that the condition can take, which causes over eighty percent of someone’s skin to lose pigmentation. It was likely that Ochako had some pigment on her privates as well, but otherwise, the parts on her stomach and face were just about the only places left that hadn’t been consumed.
Momo noticed that Ochako was starting to curl in on herself a bit, leading the heiress to realize that she had been silent the whole time. ‘She must think I don’t like her appearance!’ Momo realized. Shaking herself out of her shock, Momo practically flung herself at Ochako, hugging and squeezing her girlfriend while she voiced her opinions.
“You’re so… So…” Momo was normally rather polite with her language, but she couldn’t think of a way to express her emotion that way, throwing caution to the wind. “You’re so fucking beautiful, Ochako.” Emphasizing her words, Momo kneeled at Ochako’s feet and pressed a kiss to the gravity heroine's stomach. “When I called you a goddess, I meant it. You’re utterly divine, the very stars in the sky aren’t pretty enough to even be worth comparing to you, my dear!”
Momo traced Ochako’s vitiligo markings with her fingers, trying to burn the image into her mind so that she could always think of it, and of the beauty it carried.
Ochako was trembling at this point, flustered from head to toe with no idea of even how to respond to the praise and body worship, instead electing to faint on the spot.
—
After that, Momo scaled back slightly on the praise, so as not to make her partner faint again, but she didn’t plan to stop showing her love and affection. They had finished picking out the full wardrobe’s worth of clothes, totaling up to about twenty unique outfits. Most of them were some form of pink, but Ochako did show some restraint, picking up outfits in a few other colors as well. She had also made sure to pick out some nice dancing shoes, at Momo’s insistence.
The next stop on their journey was a hero store chain. While they mostly just carried merch of pro heroes, they also doubled for selling workout and self defense gear, since it fit the combat loving aesthetic of heroics.
Training gear was easy to pick out, Ochako was plenty knowledgeable on what she needed there, you couldn’t really be a member of the Hero Course if you weren’t able to assess your own weaknesses. She ended up picking out a new set of training weights in the tier above her current set, along with a fresh tracksuit and workout clothes. Skimming over the self defense gear, Ochako didn’t need to get any of that stuff. If she wanted to add anything like that to her hero costume, the support course would make it infinitely more durable and effective than a mass produced pocket knife or pepper spray that were intended for civilian use.
Where she was given pause was the hero merch side of the store.
She had picked up all the necessities that she could think of. Furniture, tech, clothes, gear, and they already had food, so the rest of the card was just for personal items. And hoo boy, there were more than a few personal items that caught her eye, though not just ones for herself.
“Yao-Momo?” Ochako piped up as she looked at the shelves coated in merchandise. “I know you’ve been telling me to get stuff for myself, since this is supposed to be my big ‘sugar baby’ day and stuff, but can I please pick up presents for the others? They deserve to be spoiled too, you know!”
The heiress shrugged casually, a warm expression on her face. “I was already expecting you to want to pick up souvenirs for our friends, don’t worry about it, love. It’s your money to spend how you wish. Just don’t bother getting anything for me, seeing as its technically my money anyways, if I want anything, I can pay for it myself~”
Ochako flushed, putting down a set of heroine hair ties she had already selected with Momo’s thick ponytail in mind. “G-Got it!” Setting to work, she meandered up and down the aisles, picking out anything that interested her, or that she thought her friends would like.
A Thirteen Plushie for herself, a new All Might structure deck for the Hero TCG that Izumi collected, a book of historical heroes that included Red Riot for Kirishima, a grumpy looking Endeavor plushie for Todoroki to tape to his punching bag, a Selkie action figure for Tsuyu, etc. Not every one of her classmates had a true “idol” hero that made them easy to shop for, but she tried to pick up at least one thing for everyone except Bakugo. She really had trouble picking something out for Shinsou though, since Aizawa didn’t really do merch, and Shinsou was pretty quiet about the rest of his interests, so she had instead picked up something more practical for him, being a fresh tracksuit in his colors, since his current one was getting worn out.
By the end of things, their cart was one third stuff for herself, one third stuff for her girlfriends, and one third miscellaneous gifts. She felt rather satisfied with the options, moving to the checkout, only for her eyes to catch on something in the protective anti-theft case.
“Hey, Momo? I think I forgot to grab… a new set of nice pajamas! Can you run back to that clothes store while I check out? I’ve got a lot of stuff, so take your time, hehe…”
Momo seemed slightly suspicious, but nodded anyway, bidding temporary farewells with a kiss to Ochako’s perma-blush, speed walking out of the store on a mission.
With her gone, Ochako quickly bought the expensive Uwabami gemstone necklace as a joke gift for Momo, remembering how disappointed the ravenette had been by her internship with the appearance oriented 'hero'. The idea of giving her down to earth partner such an absurd piece of jewelry made Ochako chuckle just thinking about it, so she was looking forward to the moment that she'd actually give it to Momo and see the look on her face.
—
Once Momo had picked out something she knew Ochako would like, she arrived just in time for Ochako’s huge order to end, stepping in to carry some of the bags for her partner. “I’ve already arranged for your furniture to be dropped off at the dorms later today, let's get all these belongings back ourselves though.” As hero students, a long walk carrying heavy bags was barely a challenge, especially compared to the torture Aizawa would surely put them through once the break ended, to make up for unplanned lost time.
By the time they were back, the sun was beginning to set, and Ochako hurriedly brought everything up to her room, tossing her new plushies onto the bed, hanging up some posters, and general preparations for when the room’s new furniture would make its arrival. What the wealthy ravenette had not been expecting was for Ochako to hide all of the gifts for the other people in her closet.
“Are you not going to hand them out?” Momo questioned, tilting her head curiously.
“I will eventually!” Ochako chirped, her body seeming to radiate satisfaction and confidence, a welcome change from how she had acted prior in the week. “But birthdays, anniversaries and holidays are all around the corner, I’d rather not have to stress about those for a while now that I have a bit of a backlog of gifts!”
Momo nodded, smiling at the statement. “How sweet of you, to think so far in advance.”
Ochako scratched the back of her head, chuckling absentmindedly. “It’s a habit I picked up from having such a small budget. If I try to buy all your presents in December, then I won’t be able to afford good stuff for everyone. But if I buy stuff upwards of five or six months in advance, then I can ensure everyone gets something good! Plus, stuff isn’t as sold out from people buying last minute gifts.”
“I see…” Momo had never really thought about situations like that. Most of her presents were bought within a week of a holiday’s arrival. Not to say that she didn’t think them out, she always made sure that her gifts were thoughtful, but she could afford most things she’d want to give someone, so she didn’t really need to rush. “Well, if you’re ever in need of funds for something, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I don’t mind supporting you financially, dear. I already go out of my way to foot the bill for any outings or dates that I take any of you all on, I take pride in being able to provide for my partners!”
The brunette gave Momo a look, and in her eyes, recognition could be found. “That’s… very sweet, Momo. But you don’t have to always do that, alright? Just like how I was having anxieties about not bringing enough to the relationship, and you all have been comforting me for it, we’re here if you feel like all you bring to the relationship is money. We don’t love you just because you have a fat wallet, and you aren’t obligated to always pay for everything that we do. We’re all equals in this relationship, so while I appreciate that you did all this for me today, I don’t want you to make it a habit. You’re my girlfriend, not a piggy bank.”
Momo looked away a bit, her eyelids drooping in shame. “Heh, you’re rather observant, Ochako. I’ll keep that in mind. I genuinely do enjoy supporting all of you, I like being someone reliable and generous to those that matter to me, but I’ll be sure not to overdo it. Thank you for your concern.”
Ochako pulled Momo into a hug, pressing their cheeks together. “Thank you for everything, Momo! You’re the best!”
“Don’t tell the others that, or they’re going to get jealous~” Momo flirted back, only for Ochako to lightly punch her, giggling.
“It’s a figure of speech, Momo! I know you don’t know every expression, since you’re a sheltered rich girl, but you’ve definitely heard that one before!” Pushing Momo onto her bed, Ochako pressed a kiss to Momo’s neck, snuggling with her. “But seriously, thank you all for doing this. I already feel so much better about everything that’s been keeping me down lately. It’s hard to believe that there’s another two days of this! I bet Izu’ and Mina are going to be real competitive about it now that you went before them...”
Momo giggled at the thought. “Indeed, I’m certain that Mina especially will be trying to one up everything the rest of us did. Be sure to put your foot down if she ends up taking you on too long of an adventure, we both know that she has stamina for days when it comes to physical activity.”
When Ochako didn’t respond, Momo looked up at the face of the young woman on top of her, only to find that she had fallen asleep, rather suddenly. “Heh, I forgot how quick you are to pass out after a long day. You’ll need all the sleep you can get though, with Mina’s turn being tomorrow. Sleep well, my love.”
…
…
…
“I’m stuck, aren’t I?” Ochako was simply too cozy looking to be moved, and risk disturbing her. Momo would simply have to stay underneath her all night long. What a shame~
