Summary

Shinobi aren’t heroes; they’re mercenaries who answer to the fattest wallet. Naruto learns these truths at the tender young age of five, and she never forgets them.
The Hokage really should have thought twice before giving Naruto an apartment on the outskirts of the red-light district and leaving her to fend for herself. Those who live on the fringes of society are rarely fond of it, after all.
