Chapter Text
“Dan, look,”
Dan dutifully glanced up from his phone, not expecting his breath to catch in his throat at the sight in front of him. Phil’s white shirt had one button done up in the middle clinging for dear life, his hastily pulled up trousers were completely undone and revealing the printed waistband of his boxer briefs, and he had thrown on the werewolf headband from one of their rejected costume ideas.
“I’m turning into a werewolf!!” Phil chuckled, pointing at himself with both hands. “You have to save me, Crowley!”
Dan snorted, he wasn’t even in his costume yet, he had been sitting with his feet up, in his pajamas, dicking around on his phone. Phil always took way longer to get ready than he did, and perhaps this was why. He swiped around on his phone, pulling up the camera app to snap a picture of Phil being silly. He snorted again when he glanced down at the shot, “I’m not sure we can post this one.”
“What d’you mean?” Phil asked, and Dan could hear the disappointed pout in his voice without even looking at him.
Dan studied the picture. Well, first of all, you could see that there was obviously only one king sized bed in their hotel room in the background. That was like, Secret Relationship 101. There was also just kind of junk everywhere, typical Phil-getting-ready chaos. Finally his eyes trailed over the amount of exposed skin in the photo… a bit risque, especially for Phil.
“It just kind of looks like you’re giving me a strip tease, don’t you think?” Dan said with a single laugh, turning his screen around and holding it out for Phil to look.
“What?! No!” Phil immediately protested, snatching Dan’s phone out of his hands to look at the picture himself. “I look disheveled like a werewolf midtransformation! You just think I’m hot.”
Dan couldn’t argue with that. Now that Phil was even closer, he could see his chest hair better, soft and so light that it was hard to make out in the warm cozy hotel lighting. Freckles and moles dotted Phil’s skin, begging to be kissed, and he had a suspicious mark on his lower abdomen, just above his pants, that Dan honestly couldn’t remember the source of. A bruise… a hickey? Both were very possible.
Dan loved to leave his mark on Phil’s milky pale skin. It itched a deep and toxic possessive corner of his brain just right. He obviously couldn’t even leave marks where anyone could actually see, but he just liked knowing they were there. He loved seeing them again the next time he got Phil undressed, pressing down on them to hear Phil moan, catching Phil looking at them in the mirror…
“C’mere,” Dan practically demanded, beckoning with his hand for Phil to come closer. If he had it his way, Phil would come straddle his lap so he didn’t even have to get up from his comfy chair. He was already half-undressed for Dan anyway, easy access to all his favorite spots.
“No.” Phil refused, tossing Dan’s phone down on the opposing chair across the room. The fuck… “You need to start getting ready too or we’re gonna be late.”
“You can’t be late to a Halloween party at a bar.” Dan scoffed, letting his feet fall off the table they were propped up on. “The later you arrive, the more cool you look.”
“We agreed to be there at a certain time,” Phil argued, his unbuttoned shirt slipping off his shoulder as he gesticulated, “We can’t just arrive whenever we want!”
Dan didn’t say anything, he was too busy staring at the way Phil’s unzipped trousers were slowly sliding down and revealing more and more of his tantalizing hipbones. He impulsively stood up and closed the distance between them, only to realize belatedly that he had gotten up way too fast. He stumbled dizzily into Phil’s personal bubble, catching himself by haphazardly throwing his arms over Phil’s shoulders. Their chests pressed together and thankfully Phil mustered up enough coordination to take one solidifying step back to keep both of them up-right.
“Alright, you don’t have to throw yourself at me.” Dan could feel the way Phil’s chuckles shook against his chest. He reached up to readjust the askew wolf ears perched on Phil’s head.
“Sorry, I just think you’re sooo hot.” Dan mumbled back, sarcastically like he was mocking Phil’s comment from earlier even though it was 100% true. He removed his arms from Phil’s shoulders only to slip them underneath Phil’s arms instead, splaying his hands across the expanse of Phil’s back. He tucked his head into the crook of Phil’s long neck and started pressing chaste kisses to his skin.
“Dan…” Phil said, a mix between a warning and a sigh of pleasure. He halfheartedly pushed Dan’s shoulders with both his hands, doing the absolute bare minimum to push Dan off of him.
Dan kissed Phil’s jaw, then started trailing kisses down the side of his neck, lingering at his pulse point, feeling Phil’s blood pumping against his lips. He kept traveling down, reaching up to grab at the back of Phil’s shirt to pull it further off his shoulder. He kissed across the length of his collarbone, landing right where it started going into the shoulder bone and latched on.
“Dan!” Phil yelped, putting a bit more effort into his pushing. Dan just wrapped his arms around Phil tighter, intertwining his fingers to further strengthen his hold. “What are you doing?!”
“I want everyone at the club to know who you belong to.” Dan muttered, his lips brushing against Phil’s skin as he spoke. He licked and sucked at the spot he had chosen, positively giddy to see the beautiful bruise that was going to form there. Phil’s delicate skin was made for this.
“We’re wearing a couples costume.” Phil pointed out, finally relaxing his resistance so his hands were just resting on Dan’s shoulders. “I think they’ll know who I belong to.”
“Not yet. Not really.” Dan looked up at Phil from beneath his furrowed brow and frowned. Sure, at this point who were they really fooling? But also… he just had to worry about not posting a picture with their shared bed in the background.
“Hey,” Phil said softly, cradling Dan’s cheek, “Not much longer, right?”
“Still like a whole year probably…” Dan grumbled, laying his other cheek down on Phil’s shoulder. “If we want to do it right.”
They shared a look for a moment, decades of silent communication packed into a single look. It didn’t even feel like Dan was actually thinking anything, just psychically transmitting pure emotion to Phil, and receiving his own right back. Through all the bittersweet disappointment, the most overwhelming emotion was love.
“No one will know who I belong to if you give me a hickey all the way over there.” Phil’s voice was quiet when finally spoke. Oh.
A wolfish grin grew on Dan’s face, “Yeah?” He asked, cheekily tucking his head into Phil’s neck once more, “How about right here? A classic?” His breath fanned against Phil’s skin, causing Phil to shudder in his arms. He dragged his lips sloppily against Phil’s thumping pulse point, wanting nothing more than to sink his teeth into the tender flesh. For a tense second, neither of them knew if Dan was really going to do it.
Instead he ducked down and licked a stripe over a spot on Phil’s chest, a bit too close to the opening of his shirt, closer than he had ever felt comfortable leaving a mark before. It would still be covered of course, Phil’s shirt had to be fully buttoned up to wear his bowtie after all. Dan held his hand firm on the small of Phil’s back, his body naturally arching towards Dan as he nibbled and sucked at his skin. He pulled his other hand back, running it over Phil’s stomach and dipping down into his open trousers.
Phil was already half-hard when Dan stroked his hand across the outline of his cock through his boxer briefs. He gasped, his head tipping back, and his wolf ears slipped right off of his head, falling to the ground with a soft thump. The way Phil was practically melting in Dan’s arms was starting to make him wonder if they should even go out tonight at all. Maybe they should stay in so he could fuck Phil into the hotel mattress and then order a luxurious room service dessert and watch Below Deck for the rest of the night.
“Dan.” Phil said, but it wasn’t a moan, and his head shot back up. He pushed Dan’s shoulders, this time like he really meant it. “Dan, stop, we have to get ready.”
“Are you serious right now?” Dan reluctantly detached from his hickey to whine. At least he finally got to admire his work, red blossoming on Phil’s chest, soon to be a beautiful purple. Phil’s shirt was completely awry, tugged to one side so his entire shoulder was out. He shrugged the fabric back into place, much to Dan’s disappointment.
“Dan, we paid too much money for these stupid costumes.” Phil gestured at his half-dressed body, “We have to go. We have to post a picture on Instagram, remember?”
“Fuck Instagram.” Dan groaned, pulling his hand out of Phil’s pants. He already knew he wasn’t going to win this one.
“This is our job, Daniel.” Phil scolded as he finally pulled up his zipper. Dan watched with great sorrow as his chance to make Phil come slipped through his fingers. “Will you please start getting ready?”
Dan caught a hold of Phil’s wrist before he could run away to start doing his hair or something, and he pulled Phil back into his personal bubble. He put on his best pleading eyes, “Will I get to fuck you tonight?”
Phil sighed, “Well, duh.”
