Chapter Text

After Katsuki was done on Izuku’s neck, he made his way back up to his lips. Izuku eagerly invited him back into his mouth, and soon Katsuki was swallowing up all the pretty sighs and gasps coming from his boyfriend. They were so immersed in each other that neither of them heard Izuku's door swing open, and neither of them noticed the gobsmacked Kirishima frozen halfway through the doorframe.

“Mido– Bakubro??” Kirishima whisper–shrieked, mouth agape.

Both of the boys pulled away and whipped their heads towards the door; motions in sync. Similar expressions of panic were forming on each of their faces, although Katsuki’s instantly morphed into anger. He instinctively lunged forward and used his body to cover his boyfriend. The seemingly pointless action (as one; Kirishima had already seen both of them, and two; they were in Izuku's room) still sent butterflies to Izuku's stomach.

“The fuck ‘re you doing here, Shitty Hair??”

“I could be asking you the same thing!” Kirishima replied, purely baffled. “Midobro?” he asked cautiously, seeing the way Katsuki was apparently protective of the other. Since when??

“Get. Out.” Katsuki spoke through bared teeth. Kirishima hesitated for a few seconds, not saying anything, before slowly nodding and backing away. Many questions swirled through his mind, like: Does Mina know about this? Should I ask her? Is this a prank…? Where are the cameras?!

As Kirishima continued backing out of the room while also looking for the invisible cameras, Izuku suddenly squirmed out of Katsuki's barrier and rushed over to him. “Wait!” He yelped, blocking the door.

“What the hell are you doing? I've been waiting to see you all day, Izuku! Let him go!” Katsuki snapped, voice still hushed.

Kirishima somehow managed to look even more shocked at the blonde’s words, realizing that Katsuki had been ‘waiting for this all day??'

“Before he leaves, we need to make sure he doesn’t tell anyone about…us,” Izuku rationalized.

Katuski paused before agreeing, “fuck, you’re right.” How could I even think about letting him leave knowing our secret? That kiss was really… shit nevermind, “tch.”

The noise made Kirishima look in Katsuki’s direction, who was now standing up and glaring right through his skull. “You will not tell anyone. about this. Got it? You were never here. I was never here. And if anyone for whatever reason were to think that, what will you tell them?”

“I–” he sighed. “I'll decline it… but… Bakubro. You don't have to keep things from m–”

“I think its about time this little fuckin’ party we got going on is over,” the blonde interrupted. Kirishima got the message, and sighed as he took his leave.

Once Kirishima was out of their space, Katsuki stalked over to Izuku, seizing him behind by the waist. “Baby…” he signed into the greenette’s hair. Izuku instinctively grabbed Katuski's hands and pressed them in closer, before turning in his arms to face him.

“Kacchan, you know Kirishima-kun much better than I do. Do you think he's gonna keep us a secret?”

“...Yeah. As fucking annoying as that shitty hair can be, he is…” he reluctantly avoided eye contact as he continued, “trustworthy.”

Izuku looked up at Katsuki with a glint in his eyes. He always got that look whenever Katsuki subtly praised anyone, it showed how much the blonde has grown over the past year and a half. Suddenly that look went from cherishing to… oh shit—Katsuki realized just before he was pushed onto the bed with his boyfriend right on top of him.

“Izuku!” He whisper-shouted, for what felt like the hundredth time that night.

“Hehe, Kacchan…”

The next morning, Katsuki woke up half an hour earlier than the rest of class 2-a, so he could sneak back into his dorm. That way it would look like he spent the night there, in solitude, and not like he was in bliss throughout the night with his secret boyfriend—them kissing and holding each other. He was in such a relaxed state with Izuku pressed perfectly into his side, one leg slotted through his thighs and an arm draped over his chest, that he almost forgot about their little interaction with Kirishima just hours prior. Fuck, Katsuki groaned.

The movement caused Izuku to stir, “mmm.. Kacchan..?” he looked up, voice strained from the lack of use.

Katsuki quickly reached over and started petting through Izuku's hair, shushing him back to sleep. “I have to go now, Zu,’” he said in a hushed tone while adjusting himself out of Izuku's desperate grasp.

“Wait,” the shorter mumbled as he clinged onto Katsuki tighter. Even without using his quirk, Izuku's mere grasp was enough to pull Katsuki down with an “mnph!” noise as he hit the pillow. “Five minutes,” Izuku said, already getting back into the position they were in before. Katuski knew there was no getting out of this, and as much as he needed to get back to his room, he couldn't bring himself to complain.

Eventually, Katsuki had to leave Izuku's room. The chill that followed his absence was painful, but it helped Izuku wake up. He sat up in bed and stared at the wall for a minute or two, for no real reason other than mentally preparing himself for the day. He didn’t forget about his red-haired classmate who had caught him and Katsuki last night, and… oh shit. That reminds him of something. Izuku leapt out of bed and dashed to his mirror, turning his neck back to see the whole side. Yep. Right there. Izuku counted, one… two…… FIVE HICKEYS??

“Oh my gosh,” he mumbled to himself. Concealer. He had that, right? Right. He briefly recalled Katsuki asking him if he had any last night before he even got these marks. If Izuku was being honest, he wasn’t thinking straight and just wanted Katsuki so badly that he replied without any deliberation.

Izuku began frantically searching his dresser; looking in drawers and shuffling his products all over the counter. Oh boy Kacchan’s gonna murder me where is that goddamn concealer I know I have some I know I do I bought it for this purpose specifically oh my gosh where is it where is it—! Izuku didn’t even realize he started mumbling until he heard a knock on his door.

“Good morning Deku! Are you almost ready? Class starts in 15 minutes,” she called through the door. Uraraka is already here?! Oh no, now I’m really done for.

It wasn’t strange for Ochako to be there at this time, as they typically walk to class together in the morning. Izuku spent so much time mumbling and looking for that god forsaken concealer that he didn’t realize all the time that passed. “Ah, Uraraka… You should go without me. I’m having… an issue with, uhm, my tie! Please go to class, I’ll see you there!” Izuku said frantically, still searching everywhere for the concealer.

Ochako, seemingly unbeknownst to the nervousness in Izuku's voice, happily replied, “oh, don’t worry Deku! I actually know how to tie a tie, as I had to wear a suit for one of my mentorship events over the summer. I can help you!” She cheered as she turned the doorknob to allow herself in. She had been in his dorm many times before, for study sessions and just hanging out in general, so it was normal for her to come in uninvited. That’s why she was so shocked when before she could get in, she felt Izuku rush over and push the door shut, trapping her out in the process.

“No! You c-can’t!” He yelped.

After an awkward silence, she spoke again, “um… Deku…is everything okay? You're acting weird and it's kinda freaking me out,” she said, face twisting to a concerned expression.

“Hahaha..haha Uraraka I’m fine! This tie is just… actually nevermind I think I’ve got it! But I still have to get my bag ready and honestly I think it might take a while as I was up late doing homework last night and it's all still out I have to put that away too and oh man I think my uniform is wrinkled I need to take care of that and oh! Anyways you should just go without me, I’ll, uh, meet you in class, alright? Please go,” Izuku babbled on, causing Ochako's concern to rise.

“Are you sure that you're alright?”

“...Yes” I feel bad for lying, but what else can I do? Have her come in here and see proof of what I was really doing last night?

“Honestly, Deku-kun, I don't believe you. But I promised I would give Tsu the answers to the homework this morning before class, so I'm going to leave now. But I'll talk to you about this later because I can tell something's up. Just… get to class on time, alright?”

“Okay, Uraraka,” he sighed in relief as he heard her footsteps get farther and farther away. Izuku checked his phone to see 3 minutes had already passed, “crap.” He contemplated texting Katsuki to ask if he could borrow some makeup, but eventually decided against it. He did not want to get his head exploded by the blonde the first thing in the morning.

Izuku began messily searching his closet for anything that could cover up his neck, and that's when he saw it. An old, worn-out All Might themed scarf which his mom got him for his 11th birthday. It was supposed to be 80º today, but what choice did he have? He quickly threw on the scarf, grabbed his backpack, and tried to look inconspicuous as he hurriedly made his way to class.

Izuku sat in his seat with 2 minutes left before class started. Everyone in the room was complaining about how hot it was, and Izuku could feel himself sinking into his chair. Katsuki was in the seat in front of him, in a surprisingly casual conversation with Denki and Mina. He was sitting way too nonchalantly for the activities he’d been doing just hours prior. Kirishima was at the other end of the room, talking with Sero and trying his best not to glance at Katsuki every 5 seconds. It appeared like no one even noticed Izuku's presence, and he was grateful for that. That was until Mineta, of all people, randomly appeared at Izuku's side.

“Hey, Midoriya," he sniffed.

“Um, hey, Mineta… w-what’s up?” he nervously replied, trying his best to act casual.

“Why’re you wearing a scarf? It's literally, like, a thousand degrees out today,” Mineta inquired, catching the attention of the students nearby.

Izuku noticed the new eyes on him, and his face started heating up—not because of the scarf or heat, but because he knew that if Denki, Mineta, and Mina started questioning him all at once, he would surely be done for… “Oh! Uhm, I—”

Just like he was dreading, Mina and Denki both joined in on questioning him too.

“Yeah man, you sick or something?” Denki asked, his question uncharacteristically tame.

“No, I'm not sick, don't worry!” Izuku jumped to clear any concern, waving his hands in front of his face. He quickly came up with a reasonable excuse, “I just felt a bit cold this morning, is all.”

Okay, maybe not so reasonable. But hopefully his classmates would leave it at that?

“Midoriya, you're literally sweating. I can see your face heating up as we speak. What's the real reason for the scarf?” Mina said, taking a step closer, eyes slightly squinting.

“I-I’m not sweating! My face feels fine… it's probably just the lighting or something..! Haha…” Izuku’s nervousness was apparent in his awkward chuckle, and he began using his hand as a fan for his face.

As the three exchanged glances with each other, Izuku looked up at Katsuki to find his eyes already on him. They held each other's gazes and Katsuki's vibrant eyes flickered with amusement, the corner of his mouth just slightly turned up.

“Tch, Deku, did your nerd ass seriously not check the weather today?” Katsuki grumbled, feigning the same cluelessness as the rest.

Izuku's eyes widened slightly at the betrayal, but he composed them quickly before anyone could notice. He saw that Mina’s posture had changed to her hands on her hips, which meant she was taking this whole scarf thing as a serious mystery. She must be on to me!

“Midoryia, you aren't being subtle. Is there something that you don't want us to see on your ne–” she started before was abruptly cut off by the classroom door slamming. It was Aizawa, arriving at class in his cocoon of a sleeping bag. Some things never change.

“I expect all of you in your seats with the homework on your desk in the next 10 seconds,” Aizawa started, his no-bullshit tone erasing any plans Mina had to continue interrogating him. She glanced at a physically relieved Izuku with squinted eyes before sitting down at her own seat.

Izuku kicked the back of Katsuki's chair, and he saw the blonde’s shoulders shake ever so slightly from stifled laughter.

As soon as his morning classes were over, Izuku bolted out of the room and went straight to the bathroom. He had about 30 seconds before various students came in to do their business, and he was sure as hell not going to waste a single one. He removed the scarf to see that the marks were still there, if not worse. That’s just great, thanks, Kacchan.

Izuku wet a paper towel and wiped his neck with it to clean the sweat which accumulated over the past hours. His morning classes went from 8:00–11:50 a.m, which meant he had lunch after this. Luckily, since he was in his second year, the students were allowed to leave campus to get food elsewhere. This gave him a little less than 40 minutes to leave school, get concealer, apply it, come back to school, eat lunch, and get to his next class on time.

He heard the door to the bathroom open and quickly threw his scarf back on, not having much time to make sure it covered his neck properly. He left the bathroom, adjusting the scarf as he walked out and into the halls. They were fairly empty now, as it was lunch time and he was in a school of hungry teenagers. Izuku dropped off his stuff at his next class and grabbed his student i.d, before walking in the direction of the front office.

He checked out with the office attendant, who made him write his name and where he was going on the sign-out sheet. He noticed there were a few other names above his, but didn’t care to see who they were. He needed to get out of there, fast.

If Izuku thought it was hot inside, he was not prepared for the sun's rays to wash a wave of heat over him as soon as he stepped outside. Beads of sweat were already starting to form, and he was barely 100 feet away from U.A.

If I remove the scarf, then the hickeys will be completely visible to anyone. But then again, with this much heat, I don’t care if anyone sees them as long as they don't know me.

With these thoughts, Izuku all but ripped the scarf off of his neck, feeling immediate relief in that area. He used his hand to fan his face as he pulled out his phone. In the midst of all this, he completely forgot to text his friends and let them know that he wasn't going to be at lunch today. He also forgot to text Katsuki where he was…hopefully he wouldn't be upset.

He shot a quick text to Ochako explaining that he was going to some fast food place in the area. He didn’t wait for her to reply as he switched to Katsuki's contact, and pressed the call button. It only rang once before the call was accepted.

“I’ll be back, don’t touch my fucking food unless you’re manifesting an early death,” Katsuki's muffled voice rang though the phone as Izuku heard the background noises fade away. He assumed Katsuki was in an isolated area now, and he was waiting for Izuku to explain just what was going on. But before Izuku could speak, Katsuki had some words of his own, “I thought you said you have concealer? Also, care to tell me where the fuck you are?” Katsuki pressed, but Izuku didn’t dare speak as he knew Katsuki wasn’t done chastising him. “As soon as you bolted from class, Pinky and that dumbfuck Dunce face started scheming ideas about why you’re wearing that fuckass AllMight scarf.”

Izuku noticed the excessive swearing, a subtle sign that Katsuki was stressed. Most people wouldn’t have picked up on that, as Katsuki is known for his vulgarity, but Izuku could tell his casual swearing from his rushed swearing, and knew that Katsuki wasn’t exactly mad, just… worried.

“Kacchan,” he said in his best reassuring voice, although it was slightly breathless as he was speeding towards the mall. As Izuku finally spoke, some of the tenseness from Katsuki's demeanor fizzed out. “Kacchan,” he repeated, "I'm heading to the mall to get concealer, it turns out that I actually didn’t have any. But I swear I thought I did! And last night I wasn't really thinking straight because you were—“

“Yeah, yeah, I fucking know what I was doing, now answer me this; why the fuck didn’t you text me this morning telling me you didn’t have any? You know I have some in my dorm!” Katsuki didn’t expand on why he had the concealer, as he wouldn’t verbally admit it to a single soul.

Before the sports festival last year, Jirou, Mina, Katsuki, Denki, Kirishima, and Sero were all getting ready together. They “needed” to get ready in Katsuki's dorm because it was “the cleanest, with the most space.” Whatever the fuck that meant, as all the dorms literally have a copy-paste layout. Katsuki thought he looked fine, but the day before, Mina forced him to go to the mall with her to buy some face stencils and stickers. During the trip, Mina secretly bought some makeup which matched Katsuki's skin palette, and then before the festival, she somehow roped Katsuki into letting her apply it. Mina forced him to keep the supplies, but Katsuki hadn’t used it much since then. One time Mina and Denki showed up to his dorm and begged him to let them do his makeup, “for fun,” they said. The next thing he knew, there was an entire folder of pictures of Katsuki with outrageous colors streaking his face, something similar to a drag queen. Ever since then, Mina and Denki weren't allowed to do jack shit to Katsuki's face. The only other time he attempted to apply it was before asking Izuku to be his boyfriend, and for that he had to look up a youtube tutorial. The only way Izuku even knew about the history to Katsuki's concealer was because Mina sent a few of the pictures to Katsuki's close friends, only after they promised not to tell him that they had them. To this day, Katsuki has no idea that anyone except Mina and Denki has those photos.

As Izuku was reminiscing over this memory, he had to stifle a laugh as he realized that Katsuki was waiting for him to answer. “I… was nervous that you would be mad at me for forgetting it,” Izuku sighed, now realizing that Katsuki was much more riled up with the current commotion going on than he would’ve been with Izuku simply admitting his slip up.

Katsuki paused at this, and forced himself to calm down. Even though things have been a lot better between the two of them since Katuski apologized, there were still times when they were reminded of their complicated past.

“When was the last time that I was genuinely mad at you,” Katsuki said, juxtapositionally quiet to the last time he spoke.

Izuku's mouth opened and closed as he sighed through his nose, "I know. I know, Kacchan, I'm sorry, I should've just texted you, I—”

“No, don't be sorry, I,” he paused, “I’m sor—”

Izuku cuts him off before he could finish, “no, Kacchan, you have nothing to be sorry for. You've gotten so much better over this past year, and I love you. We both are still moving on from our past and you know I've already forgiven you. Please don't be sorry…” He felt so bad for disregarding everything Katsuki has worked towards this past year, his efforts in not lashing out. He should've known that Katsuki wouldn't have gotten seriously mad, but then again he can't blame himself completely.

Katsuki doesn't reply.

“Do you wanna talk about it later?” Izuku offered. Katuski was never one to hold back, so the fact that he stayed silent was noticeable.

“...Yeah.”

“Okay Kacchan, we will,” Izuku finalized. The air was still kind of strained, so he went to make it lighter, “what are you having for lunch?”

“Mapo tofu,” Izuku smiled, knowing it was favorite, “rice, a vegetable salad, and,” Katuski paused, glancing back to where he could see his lunch table, “a coffee jelly.”

“Is the tofu spicy enough?”

“Hell no, I had to add my own chilly flakes, these damn extras are too soft.”

Izuku breathed out a laugh as he pictured his boyfriend raging at the lack of spice. “Kacchan, I think that's just your outrageous spice tolerance. Oh, also! I'm pretty sure my mom texted me a few days ago telling me that she ordered more of that seasoning you liked and that we could pick it up later.”

“Did she say when?” Katuski's voice came slightly muffled through the speaker as he changed positions. He was now leaning against a wall, facing away from his table.

“I’ll check right now,” Izuku says while opening his phone. As he pulls up his mom's contact, his eyes glance at the time and almost bug out of his skull from shock. “Crap, Kacchan, I have to go so I have enough time to get everything done. I just saw the time, I didn't realize it was already 12:07!” Izuku yelped, already switching from speed walking to running though the automatic sliding doors which lead inside of the mall.

“Tch, get back on time or I'll kill you,” Katuski warned with no real venom in his words.

“Yeah, yeah, I will! Bye Kacchan, I love youuuuu,” Izuku teased as he slowed to a stop in front of a digital sign with a map of the mall's layout displayed.

“Be careful, baby. I love you more,” Katsuki quickly replied before hanging up. He still gets shy when saying those three words, and Izuku finds it endearing.

Katuski turned around from his place on the wall, ready to go back to eating his mapo tofu. What he wasn't aware of, though, was the presence of his classmate behind him. Denki. Kaminari. Dunce Face. Behind him.

How long was he standing there? Katsuki wasn't sure. But from the look on his face, he heard enough to know the relationship between Katuski and the mystery person on the phone.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
